The folks who signed us up were very patient and helpful. The stuff we had to store fit perfectly. This was the cheapest place we found.

ZERO SECURITY. DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY IF YOU VALUE YOUR PROPERTY. Mini U Storage claims to have strong security, with a nighttime security guard, but my unit was recently (Jan, 2023) broken into (along with several other units) and valuable items stolen. They have no security cameras on the units, only one on the exterior gate, and even this camera was so poorly positioned that it could provide no vehicle or individual identification information for the police investigation of the incident. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a storage facility for anything they value, DO NOT USE MINI U STORAGE ON MOTOR CITY DRIVE IN COLORADO SPRINGS. read more

The storage facility is great, the price is right and the staff is friendly and helpful. The free rental truck isn't exactly "free" though, so realize that before you reserve. There is a 19.00 non- refundable fee, a 50.00 deposit, (pay cash so you don't have to wait 10 days for a refund) it is a 4 hour max rental and if you go over 50 miles it is $1.00 per mile. (Be sure to verify the odometer reading and take pictures) Also, we only drove it 24 miles total and it cost 30.00 in gas to get it back to the half tank mark. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!! All of my items were stolen. There is no security here. The employees were rude to me. The employees never informed me that my items were stolen, I had to find out myself. There are no security cameras in the facility. The facility lied to me on the phone and told me that my unit was the only one broken into - but when I visited I saw all of the other units in same the hallway were either successfully broken into or attempted to be broken into. It appeared as if someone used a hammer to smash the hasps on the doors. My unit was broken into because someone unscrewed the hasp that connects the lock to the door, but the facility tried to tell me that it was my fault - even though I was out of state for the entirety of the time I was storing my items. This theft was devastating -- I had everything stolen: bike, skis, furniture, photos and other personal items, books, clothing, etc., over $6500 worth of stuff. The last thing I want is for this to happen to other people. Do not store your items here. read more

I must say that before the new management and they had to look for new people to run the front desk area I had no problems with mini storage as of the end of July I've had my stores broken into seems like they've came through the wall or the ceiling for the seals of them broken and no one has done anything about it the new people that are running the place in that are living there that are watching out for staff are not doing their job properly Sunday after 1030 at night the gates were still open and unmanned and I seem to be driving by washing homeless people walk in and they're currently living there to this day I still am seeing homeless in the units. read more

I stored my belongings here when I left for a job last summer. When I returned at the beginning of the fall everything had been stolen from my storage unit, and I mean everything. I used a lock that the storage company suggested that I purchase because it cannot be cut (the round ones). The lock was not cut, but rather the entire hinge was taken off the door and glued back on in a different place (as explained in the police report I later received). I had insurance on my belongings through the insurance company that the storage company suggested I use when I started renting a unit. However, the insurance company denied my claim and the storage company did absolutely nothing to help me (they literally avoided my calls) or to refund any part of the amount I paid. I would NEVER again store anything at this facility! read more

Quick update. Corporate sent us a refund. It seems that they take care of their customers. Seems as though this location was less than motivated. Thank you corporate. Great customer service on the front end, not so great on the other. Do yourself a favor and don't pay in advance. We paid for several months, canceled a month early and were told there are no refunds, then were told that the information had to go to "corporate." Otherwise, the gate opened and our items weren't stolen. read more

The managers here are fantastic and incredibly helpful. We forgot several things we needed when renting the unit and truck and they worked with us to get everything we needed.
