We were in Victor to see the troll (but happened to come on the Donkey Derby Days in Cripple Creek), so we needed somewhere easy to eat, 1899 Saloon was it. It is truly a bar (saloon) that has some food. It was REALLY busy the Saturday we were in with all 6 tables full and 80% of the barstools filled. The one waitress worked her butt off! Their menu is on a chalkboard at the front of the place to the right when you walk in - I tell you this because it is the only menu in the place and if the very busy waitress or another patron doesn't let you know you will set forever waiting for a menu. Easy menu, basically burgers, chicken fingers and a variety of appetizers (fries, onion rings and other fried goodness). I would say they could make it easier on themselves with paper menus in a plastic holder on the table for the food and beer, but they seem to like their way. I opted for the green chile burger and onion rings, my hubby wanted the burner burger minus the onions, but apparently you can't ask to hold an ingredient so he had to order it as a build your own (seemed way harder, but it was their policy). Things to know - lettuce, tomato and onion was extra and you have to ask for it - totally missed that on the bottom of the chalkboard. Burgers had a great flavor and the onion rings were perfect. We also got a couple Goose Island IPAs (they had several things on tap, but no beer menu and the waitress was really busy and I knew the goose neck tap was goose island so I made it easy). Parking is street side and even on a busy Saturday there was plenty. Pay at the register up front (by the menu). Solid place.

We were in the area to do an off roading trip, starving and lacking options we were beyond happy with the experience! The staff was friendly and the food was great. My husband got the bacon blue burger and I got chicken fingers. Our kids weren't hungry (they had McDonald's earlier and we weren't hungry at that time). But my daughter asked if they had something fun she could do. They brought out a ring game. It was a great experience.

We were staying at the Victor hotel and looking for food on a Saturday night. This was the only place that was open in town. All the fried goods we ordered were cooked absolutely perfect. They have burgers and a few other items too but we had burgers earlier in the day so we stuck to appetizers. Our food was brought out two by two and everything was piping hot. Although she was the only one working, our bartender/server was friendly and attentive to us the whole time. She did great! There were a few other couples in the restaurant seemly having a great time and enjoying themselves. The prices are perfectly reasonable and we are glad we found this gem.

The kitchen puts out some great burgers! I love the dining areas inside and out. The staff was hard working and courteous. Victor is one of my favorite places in Colorado and this is a great place to stop for food.

This place was okay. Visiting Victor yesterday and found this place on Yelp, so based on reviews we stopped in. It definitely has that great local bar feel! The ladies working were very nice and friendly, the place had a chill vibe and lots of drinks waiting behind that full bar for you! The food menu is up by the bar and then the staff comes to your seat to take your order instead of having a paper or table menu to check out. We both ordered burgers based on all recommendations. Hubby ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger with fries and myself just a regular cheeseburger with fries. Didn't ask how we'd like them cooked but that's ok, they came out probably medium and juicy. Both burgers were fine, pretty greasy but i loved the buns. The fries had good flavor but were pretty limp and floppy to where i ate maybe 5 of them. Definitely needed more time in that deep fryer, I was super disappointed since I was really craving fries. I guess I just wasn't wowed, and maybe had too high expectations based on everyone else's reviews of the place.

Great find in Victor!! Definitely a place frequented by locals! Formerly the Blue Collar Speak Easy. Four of us had the Reuben and the burgers. Everyone really enjoyed their sandwiches. The Reuben's didn't have a huge amount of meat, which was fine with me. The rye bread was fresh and not soggy with butter like they sometimes can be. The fellas have the burgers high marks, especially the buns! FRESH CUT FRIES!!! The onion rings are the frozen kind so we didn't try them. Not a Hughes craft beer selection, 3 from Bristol Brewing and one from Breckenridge. Standard beer flavors in bottles, and a full bar. Pool table in the back, lots of beer memorabilia on the walls. We liked this much better than the Fortune Diner.

I suggest going here for a big, luscious cheese burger and onion ring lunch AFTER you've taken maybe one of the most fun family drives, ever...on Phantom Canyon Road. A regular car can make it. Phantom Canyon Road ends (or begins) at Victor. Because you're a savvy photographer, you'll want that early morning sun to give your photographs some depth. Starting at CO Springs, its going to take around 45 or 50 minutes to get to the Hiway 50 turnoff to CO 67 Phantom Canyon Road. Then, it's around 2 hours to drive through the canyon. More, if you make frequent stops to read the historical signs, stretch your legs and let the kids out. After all the excitement of blind turns and steep drop offs, your driver can really enjoy a beer at Mining Claim 1899 Saloon (drinking alcohol is NOT recommended driving Phantom Canyon Road) and kicking back with brother and sister owners. Most of the walls and even the the ceiling are filled with stuff from America's past. International visitors can enjoy what it feels like to be in a neighborhood bar and grill with great home style cooking.

The half order of Hawaiian French toast I had was very good as well as my eggs and toast. The dine in area is nice and usually they very busy, but the food comes out fast and your coffee cup never runs dry. Overall, overall the best sit down breakfast place in this area and I has another great experience.

The restaurant part of the Silver Cliff Mountain Inn is known as Willie's! At first we were…read moresomewhat confused, however, I am really glad we sorted it out!!! Our breakfast was nothing short of fabulous!!! My wife ordered the Red Velvet waffles that had scrambled eggs and bacon on the side. I ordered the Eggs Benedict that was smothered in Hollandaise sauce and hash browns - not something that you will get at home on a regular basis. WOW!!! Both entrees were so good that it will have us coming back for more!! We had the privilege of meeting Willie as he was working the crowd. As we travel around the country, I find that if the manager/owner is working the crowd it's bound to be a great place - for sure in this case with Willie's. I told him that I call that "Leadership On Duty"!!! Three staff members also worked our table. Bow, Terri, and Summer, each had a division of duties and, as a result, we were really taken care of. The ambience was truly out of the western small town mode - clean, efficient service, and fabulous food. Four cups of the best coffee and a full stomach and was time to hit the road back home. Give Willie's a try as you will not be disappointed. Be sure to say "hi" to Willie, Bow, Terri, and Summer - they are the best.
