Laurie even helped calm me by handling some last minute makeup concerns. Once on island, I met her to go over some final details and I immediately felt connected to her and so blessed to have Laurie on my team. This review is embarrassingly overdue, as we have just celebrated our 3rd anniversary. But I can still say that the service we got from Lori and her team were excellent. Lori has a time tested process for gathering information for all her weddings, and the planning and organization of all aspects leading up to the event were great. There were a million decisions we had to make while planning our wedding, and Lori guided us through this process all the way through- flowers, tables and chairs, music, food, drinks, wardrobe, makeup, etc. etc. And once the day arrived, Lori and team were on-site from dawn to dusk, ensuring that the plan we so carefully prepared was executed flawlessly. Her goal is for the wedding couple to enjoy their day, without having to lift a finger and to be completely stress-free. I think we appreciated that the most (especially after seeing how stressed many of our friends were at their own weddings because they didn't have Lori!) Only after our wedding did we discover from our guests how much work was done behind the scenes- such as a guest breaking a glass on the beach, the wrong type of table being delivered to our site in the morning, lights not having been hung correctly. I may never know the full extent of that work, but I do know that Lori's team took care of it. Although Veronica, our planner, was lovely and personable, the service we received on our wedding day did not reflect a 5-star experience. Given that we paid $4,000, I expected much higher quality. I loved that they offered everything from day-of coordination, to event design, to full-service coordination, and more! We went with the full-service coordination package, which was much needed for a busy bride and groom like ourselves. Also, because we lived on O'ahu and were planning to be married on the Big Island, it was super helpful to work with a team who lived there. DETAIL + DESIGN: Contrary to the stereotype that every woman has dreamt of their wedding day since they were a little girl, I had not done any planning or dreaming prior to getting engaged. The only thing I knew was that I wanted an outdoor wedding. I felt that Swept Away was strongest in this area of wedding planning. Since I seemed to like anything and everything on Pinterest, they helped me hone my overflow of diverse ideas, made design suggestions, and gave practical feedback that elevated the vision I was forming along the way. All of our friends were able to fully celebrate our day with us. There is a 6 hour time difference with us here and she always found the time to walk them through whatever concerns they were having. The hotel gave my parents some bait and switch action once we got there and Ashley was the mediator and really fought for us. The rehearsal and day of she was on top of every little detail. She had Danielle (also from Swept Away) helping her and she was also super lovely and helpful and they were both cool as a cucumber on the outside even though I am sure it wasn't easy. But their calm demeanor kept everyone else calm too. Now the fun stuff. Holy wow. Since I had no involvement in the planning I had no idea what the wedding would look like. It was something out of a Martha Stewart magazine. Not even joking.
