One of the first new problems I experienced at this business was a previously unknown heater fan issue. Upon leaving the shop, I immediately noticed the issue, despite the shops best effort to disguise the problem (they turned the fan to full speed, when it wouldn't work at low speed). Today, I was shown a burned out fan resistor and a burned fan connector, by a reputable auto shop. Go to North Road Auto or Ian's Auto, and put these disreputable frauds out of business! read more

My car recently had this awful noise (i thought it was the muffler or exhaust), and i booked an appointment with the guys here. This was my second time coming in (had a belt replaced last year and it was very reasonably priced). I ended up going with the $60 oil change and full health check (which is pretty good price wise). Turns out i needed about $850-$1000 of work done on my car. I was not thrilled at all - forking out that kinda cash for my 2007 corolla. Adrienne was SO friendly (even after i was quite cranky and a bit rude). He priced out the quote for me and was able to give me some solutions and options to make it a little cheaper. When i booked my appointment, the guys were quick, super nice and even knocked of some of labour cost for me. I know I can trust them and they showed me the parts that they replaced and gave me confidence to get back on the road! Will defs be bringing my car in for servicing when needed. read more

I brought my car to Minit-Tune & Brake in Coquitlam, for a simple brake repair, and it turned into a nightmare. They upsold me over $1,218 in unnecessary auto repair, and immediately my car became sluggish, steering was hard to turn. Within 3 days my vehicle broke down completely with smoke pouring out. The staff were rude, dismissive, and condescending--especially toward women customers. Owner Eddie Wu refused to take responsibility and told me it was just "bad luck." Sorry I don't accept this answer. The minute brought my car to your shop things go terribly wrong! They have done something and they know it. That's why they require you to pay immediately so you drive away with a problem they caused. The other mechanic told me they caused this issue. If you're looking for an honest mechanic in metro Vancouver, avoid this shop--they destroyed my car and my trust. Right now I am preparing law suit against this business. I brought a 1980 vehicle in for an Inspection prior to purchase. The cost for this was very reasonable. A thorough checklist was provided and explained on what was good and what required attention. I proceeded with numerous repairs. Adrian was most helpful wIth scheduling and explanations on the work being completed. for $108 full checkup deal they changed my oil and filter to the better synthetic oil, ( $50 less if you want to use regular motor oil ) and did not charge the extra labour for the trouble to remove the stuck rounded oil bung plug. Adrian asked permission to charge me for a new recomented oil drain plug. With that job they, checked everything over , brakes and all, ( even a test-drive for brakes and engine ) and gave good advise on what work to budget for. No surprizes on extra charges. ( No charge for topping up my radiator fluid. ) I can sit back and watch them work from the grassy place nearby. The boss Adrian has a good attitude. ^^^^ One improvment I reccomended that has to first go through Minitune upper managment to be approved is they should spray the accordian rubber boots on the cb joints with some kind of new chemical to stop the rubber boots from getting old and cracking. My research says silicon 303 is best, or armour-all or even some say silicon spray as WD-40 BUT NEVER A PETROLEUM PRODUCT. ! Minitune wants to be sure the treatments are effective as part of a standard oil change $108 check up pakage deal before using these products to preserve the rubber cv joint boots. read more

Booked my car for full maintenance and fluid flush, oil, tranny, coolant. Dropped off at 3, they closed at 5. Got a call at 4:30 saying they wouldn't have time to complete, did only half the job, but I'd already showed up at 4 and was at coffee shop across the street and saw my car sitting in parking lot for over an hour. Walked in at 5 and they tried to explain, but still kept up the lie. On top of that the bill showed 2.5 hours labour when car was in the shop for less than an hour and sitting in their parking lot for hour and half. These guys seem honest but they are not. The owners a scam artist. The employees breaks things in your engine then makes you pay for them. Over charges. Sweet talks you saying you need this and that, replaces parts with bad quality products then when bill time comes its hundreds more than what you expected. I would stay far from this place. Always gives an honest diagnosis and will not repair anything without aproval. The shop staff are very helpful, Extremely knowledgable. And try their best to explain options without taking advantage of the customer. Eddy the owner and Trevor are also very friendly.
