I come to Mountain View Pointe Dental twice a year for teeth cleaning. Every other appointment,…read more they make me gag with the X-ray bitewings. Have never gotten over that feeling. Last week, I bit down on something and cracked about a quarter of one of my lower molars. Luckily, no nerve endings were exposed, so there wasn't any pain or discomfort. The next day, they worked me in to evaluate the extent of the damage and let me know my options. I expected they would X-ray the tooth and then schedule me for a second appointment to repair the damage. Instead, they said they could rebuild the tooth right then, using resin to fill in the gap. They also replaced my old 1970s-era amalgam filling, also covering the tooth with more resin. Even with the shot of Novocaine and having to wait 15 or 20 minute for it to take effect, the entire procedure took less than an hour. Dr. David Seegmiller and his staff do a great job.

I called them expecting the usual "we can see you in three weeks" situation, but they got me in for a consult first thing the next morning... and then somehow managed to pull the teeth the same day. Immediate relief. Actual heroes. The doctor was amazing. She was super kind, confident, and made the whole thing feel way less scary, and that's HUGE coming from a person with severe dental anxiety. I also have never had an IV placed better in my life. The medical assistant was wonderful as well. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and was such a lovely girl to talk to leading up to the procedure. The front desk staff were so friendly as well, they almost made me forget I was there to have teeth ripped out of my face. Also, I have to specifically mention the sedation because it deserves its own review. Whatever magic they used had me out here living my best life in a full-blown Star Wars dream for about an hour. I went in stressed and in pain and somehow woke up feeling like I had just taken the most elite nap in the galaxy while the professionals handled my problem teeth. If dental work always came with a one-hour intermission in a Star Wars universe, I'd honestly go more often. If your wisdom teeth are acting up, skip the suffering and go here. 1000/10 recommend.

The first surgery resulted in a sinus perforation and the attempted repair was unsuccessful. This error has required three surgeries in the past year with a new practice. A request for a mild sedative before the last procedure at this office was disregarded and never prescribed. I called and I was told it was unnecessary and they would give me a mild sedative when I arrived. The nurse was rude and dismissive and the last surgery was an awful experience because I was fully aware of everything. A broken tooth was extracted to prep for an implant but it exposed a wisdom tooth that had to be removed by my new surgeon. The entire experience was not only disappointing but also traumatizing. I wish they had told me that they were not comfortable working with a nervous patient. It would have saved me the trauma.

I came here with my daughter today because we were not sure what to do with her stubborn baby tooth…read morewhile a permanent tooth managed to grow on top of the baby tooth. She was complaining of some discomfort few days ago but due to her previous dental experiences, she might have endured the tooth ache longer than I could've realized. She's really scared of dentists and she was very nervous coming here today that I made a deal with her that she could play her iPad music (with her cute pink headphones on) if she agrees to see the dentist. Location was easy to find and I was really impressed how clean the place was when we visited today. Staff members were all polite, helpful and respectful. I don't know anything about dental equipment but everything looked nice, modern, and clean. There is also a refreshment area which I thought was pretty cool (I made a nice cup of coffee during the short wait). I think the price was very reasonable considering they did clean my daughter's teeth, and Dr. Baird was able to persuade my nervous daughter to pull that stubborn baby tooth. What a relief! I knew my daughter will most likely just tolerate/ignore the discomfort because she's very scared of dental work but Dr. Baird was genuine and thoughtful that my daughter agreed to have the tooth pulled today. I am quite surprised that there has been no other previous review from this clinic so after our visit today, I decided to write this one review because I think everybody at the clinic truly rocked, and I appreciate how warmly they treated my daughter and I. We also scheduled a follow-up visit for her in 6 months, so I do plan to go back there and would highly recommend this place especially among parents who have little ones scared of going to the dentist.

We were not notified of the business change. Throughout this experience, I never even got to see or meet the new dentist. When my wife and I went in for one of the two cleanings per year under our plan in the middle of June 2022, they did panoramic xrays and then got right into measuring gums and did a full mouth debridement (extremely uncomfortable). After having this done they stated my gums were at a 4 or 5 and I needed to come in 3-4 times per year in order to keep my gums from deteriorating. The prior dentist would tell me during each visit, "Everything looks good. Continue doing what you're doing." Needless to say, I was shocked at the sudden turn of my dental health. During the cleaning, the hygienist told me my insurance was one of the best out there and would be good to cover most, if not all the costs. I received the bill for our routine cleanings and was charged nearly $200. We are still working out the billing. There was no notice that extra services would be performed and therefore would present extra costs. I was expecting to have a routine cleaning covered by insurance and now they are upselling and upcharging people without notice. Be weary of this business as they seem like the type of business to find any possible way to get money out of you in the name of "highest standard of care."
