Oooof this place got busy busy busy after dinner! Prepare yourself for a line up if you're around…read morefor the weekend. We were in town for a day and had just enjoyed the best dinner nearby along Brock. How lucky were we to find out there's a gelato spot down the street! They had multiple staff taking orders ahead to keep things moving, which was super smart! The fruit sortbettos are amazing. Lots of fresh ingredients used and a lovely refreshing flavour. We got the pear and also tried the mandarin flavours. I missed the pineapple one sadly but it sounded so good. We did get black currant but that one was a bit too sour for us. I love that they have fun fruit options other than the usual berries or citrus. On the gelato side, we got the maple walnut and earl grey. There were SOO many choices - it was hard to narrow it down. But wow was I really happy with the decisions we made. Honestly all so yummy, it's hard to just pick two. Best earl grey gelato I've ever had! Such a great, strong tea flavour. It's a super popular spot and it seems like they swap up the flavours once in a while. We're excited to stop by again next time we're in Kingston.

Charming location, friendly staff. Once the scoops were being made, with all the flavours and options. It all looked so good. I couldn't resist. I had two scoops; one skor and skor chocolate. Ah! The flavours were spectacular. The cone was a dark chocolate dipped waffle cone. Mmmmmm! For someone who originally said no thanks ,not for me. I was not disappointed. I'm sure all the locals know of this place. if you are travelling to Kingston, make it a point to stop in and enjoy what maybe the best ice cream imaginable.

I got a medium Original Milk Tea with Hazelnut Flavouring $4.30 and added tapioca pearls for another $0.50 ($4.80 total). I asked for half sweet and regular ice. I didn't really taste much hazelnut flavour, and it was still really sweet for my tastes (I guess I should have ordered quarter sweet). It didn't have a strong tea flavour either. Fortunately, it wasn't too rich nor too creamy. I didn't get that much tapioca, but I guess it was ok because I found the tapioca too mushy. The place looked clean and service was fine. I've had better bubble tea, but I've also had much worse, so this place is ok. Maybe other flavours are better. Also, I just had bubble tea and didn't try their food or other offerings like shaved ice. I love shaved ice, so might have to return to try that :)

It's alright. Went for some shoyu ramen and also had strawberry shaved ice after a grueling exam…read more The ramen was pretty good, decent portions and solid flavor, no complaints there. Shaved ice left a lot to be desired. Not a lot of flavor, strawberries did not look very fresh and the portion was pretty small for the price ($7 I think?). This place does get pretty busy because it is one of the go-to student spots for some Taiwanese food and bubble tea so do be wary of that. Service was fast and seating was comfortable. Would return to try a few more desserts or when I'm craving bubble tea although I have heard from some friends that they take a long time to make bbt.

The store was very cute and the staff behind the counter friendly. They have vanilla based flavours and chocolate based along with other items. I ordered what I believe was called the White Knight. It tasted milk chocolate with white chocolate pieces. I had been to Mio Gelato a few steps down, so of course your brain is going to compare. This place didn't have benches outside or anywhere to sit as the gelato place did, so I had to walk down to the water and find a place, but it was nice to sit in the little park area under the trees in the shade. The ice cream was good, but it did have a very slight 'freezer' taste at the beginning. The white chocolate chunks were very good. The service wasn't as friendly at this store as Mio. Just basic, but good enough. The ice cream taste is creamier than the gelato, so it's always nice to have something new and different on a different day. One of the better ice cream shops I've visited, and I would definitely stop in again to try another flavour.

Very wonderful ice cream parlour experience…read more The food here was very good because it was homemade and it tasted really good because of the good quality. The service here was very wonderful because the staff were very polite and respectful. The ambiance of this location is an ice cream parlour style and the parlour was very clean. For the reasons I have stated in this review, I highly recommend and encourage you to visit his ice cream parlour because you will have good homemade food and good service for a very fair and very cheap and reasonable price.

A gem of a bakery and cafe in downtown Kingston!…read more My review is only for the bakery and store portion of Pan Chancho. I haven't had the chance to dine in the cafe yet, mostly because it gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. That said, the bakery/store has so many great finds. Their bread is excellent quality and a great value for the size, at around $5 for a small loaf and $8 for a larger one. My favorite is the olive rosemary sourdough, which is absolutely delicious. The saucisson sec is another great local find. The baked goods offer a nice rotating variety, with everything from Québec maple chômeurs to Italian maritozzi. On my last visit, I tried the Vietnamese coffee panna cotta, which was excellent. There's also an large gluten-free selection, ranging from breads to fresh-baked goods. The gluten-free scones are a particular standout. Beyond the food, Pan Chancho also has a great selection of kitchen and pantry-related items, including spices, pasta, sauces, hand towels, reusable bags, and more. It's the kind of place where you can go in for a loaf of bread and easily leave with a whole bag of interesting little things. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in downtown Kingston! The bakery alone is reason enough to visit, even if you don't get a chance to sit down at the cafe.
