The parking lot is easy to access right off of Taylorsville road and there is plenty of parking in two large, separate parking areas. The voting is very streamlined and easy to do. You walk in, present your ID, they give you a ballot, fill it out, drop it off, get a sticker (or wrist band) and you're on your way. It's never taken me longer than 20 minute to vote in any election. My recommendation would be to vote early (if you can), and if you're voting on Election day, go as early in the day as you can. It can get very busy the later in the day. High Marks for voting at The Jeffersonian!

It had a good amount of space for the crowd and allowed the bookstore hosting the event to set up a nice backdrop for the speakers and several merch tables. It was very buisnessy with bright lights, and I would have liked to see them dimmed a bit to create more of a mood.

Through the years I've attended weddings, professional conferences and special events at The…read moreOlmsted. The main buildings sit back from the road but their entrance and signage are fairly easy to spot on Frankfort Ave. I also appreciate the ample parking near the main building. Several steps lead to the front door so check with the Olmstead's team if you need a ramp. If needed, a coat check is in the lobby. The main foyer sits in the middle of two ballrooms. For conferences and weddings they can utilize both sides - i.e. one side for speakers / ceremony and another for lunches / reception. A stage is available and at one wedding the ceiling was beautifully decorated. Food is fairly basic but I've always enjoyed it. Servers came around regularly to clear plates and restock drinks. Bathrooms are located off the foyer and have a few stalls to manage a crowd. Outside the main building offers outside seating and lots of greenery. No issue with sound, whether it's speakers hooked up to wireless mics or DJs and classical ensembles. The screen projection for conferences is very clear too. My only issue is seating when attending a conference. The chairs are metal and not comfortable during a full-day session.

I had the opportunity to check out the Gardens at Ray-Eden as the best man for a wedding being held…read morethere. The site is on the outskirts of Louisville off the Gene Snyder. It's a little hard to find since you have to drive through a subdivision to get to the entrance, but once inside it is nicely secluded from the outside world. The Gardens at Ray-Eden are beautiful gardens that can be rented out for special occasions. There were lots of flowers in bloom and the plants and trees are all well cared for. There is a main house that belongs to the owner, and is off limits to guests, but there were bathrooms and a bridal suite attached to the garage, which was very convenient. The owner was very friendly and stopped by several times to make sure that everything was going okay, although I was a little disappointed that his name wasn't Ray Eden. I suspect that weddings are their bread and butter, but I'm certain it they would work for any outdoor special occasion. They also have a large covered pergola, which stood us in very good stead since we had quite a rain shower come through during the ceremony. Although the remote location and subdivision are small negatives, I found the Gardens at Ray-Eden to a be delightful place to hold a wedding or any medium to large outdoor gathering.

I spoke to a Fred who was so very sweet and nice. However, Glen likes to price gouge. He reminds me of a used car salesman and not a very nice one. Glen tells me that there is a large lighted dance floor that I will have to pay for to use. That was not there when I signed my contract and paid for the venue. So I told him that I did not want to use it and he proceeds to tell me that I either pay to rent it or pay to have it removed if I did not want to use it,. REALLY?? THEN, I pay Glen an extra $500 to rent the hall on Friday so I can setup for the wedding on Saturday. He then tells me that his assistant "accidentally" made a same day event for a wake on my Friday and instead of telling them that he made an error and give back their money, he tells me that he cant tell them to cancel because he would feel so bad cancelling on a wake. Guess what, it wasn't a wake after all, it was a birthday party!!! Yes I got my money back but the stress of it all and the lies, had me looking for other places to rent because if one ore thing happened... I was done. Luckily nothing happened on our wedding day but the months leading up to it were awful and stressful because of this DJ. He has a reputation, just ask around. lol He is also banned from the main Louisville KY wedding site on FB due to bad business practices. AVOID if you can. The venue is beautiful but not worth the added stress or the price gouging.

My fiance and I changed our mind about using this location. In less than 30 days after paying almost $1800. We decided to spend more on our honeymoon than the wedding. We understand that there's a contract. And we did sign it. But to keep that amount of money only after 30 days of reconsidering! And being told that we took that date. Knowing they still have plenty of time to use that same date. As I said before. Very genuinely nice people. But we feel there's a bit of scam within the contract. And our wedding isn't until June 2025. $1800 is a lot of money to make of someone who changed their minds in less than 30 days after paying that amount of money. When the wedding was scheduled 11 months away. It was, and is a very expensive lesson. We also understand that it's business. But where's the compassion.
