Unfortunately, that trust was shattered during my daughters' recent visit for sports physicals. My 15-year-old and 20-year-old went in together, and while in the exam room, the staff openly gossiped about them and made offensive, gender-related comments about one of them. This behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and discriminatory--completely unacceptable in any healthcare setting, but especially from a place we have relied on for so long. As a parent, I thought Piedmont would be a safe environment even if I couldn't be present. This incident has shown otherwise, and I will be sharing our experience so other families are aware.

This statement shows Shantel's lack of medical knowledge. Not only is she not a nurse, there is no doctor at this facility. Which concerns me. I specifically returned during the exact hours I was instructed to (12-2 PM) to ensure the lab pickup happened on time, waited over an hour AGAIN for another blood draw, only to later be told the sample was still not processed properly due to lab pickup issues. At that point, it became clear this was an office/process issue and not a patient issue. I also was told prescriptions for vitamin D and folic acid would be sent, and they still have not been called in. The NP herself was kind, but overall the communication, organization, and repeated inconvenience were unacceptable especially for patients driving long distances and taking time out of work/life to be seen.

I noticed she had a line of forms she was working on, lined up on the desk, face up (all information exposed), with the IDs on top, also face up. Then I noticed that as patients come I. They have their cell phones out pointed directly where all the forms are. I'm not saying they were taking pictures, but they easily could given how everything was laid out.
