I had a GREAT massage experience here. I do a lot of driving, carry a far-too-heavy purse and have past injuries, so I was looking for more of a "serious" massage to work out the tight kinks for prevention, and less for the "fun" aspect. So as their name suggests, it is not a place to hang all day for the "girlie spa" experience. But really worth going to to get a great massage. My initial call to book the appointment really set the positive tone because Maureen not only helped me choose the right massage therapist - I checked out their website and wanted help deciding between three therapists who could do a combo of Swedish, Therapeutic massage, Reflexology, Pregnancy/baby massage, Shiatsu. AND she offered to call my insurance to see if I qualified for a massage benefits or a discounted rate! yep... I did. Whoo hoo. OK: Now THAT's customer service! And she patiently explained the "fine print" in a way that was not offensive. i.e. cancellation policy of $25 if cancelled in less than 24 hours (the fee goes to the therapist.) I tried a 50 minute massage from KEIKO and I highly recommend her. The room was comfortable too as it was warmed up for my massage :) Keiko was a great listener and she addressed my problem areas. She offered to apply heat pads to help me get the most from the massage. She even advised that at my next appointment with her or anyone else, that I ask for them! And she did the perfect combo of techniques. Under her expert touch I didn't even flinch when she massaged/stretched my "angel wings" - that's impressive for me especially as it's been way too long since my last massage. She's kind, chats just the right amount and I left feeling content (not oily/greasy at all!) and happy that I got the right massage work - not so intense that I'll be uber-sore the next day, but it was not a baby soft massage at all. I'll definitely be back. TIPS: -Call minimum 48 hrs prior to your appointment and they can check if your insurance offers any massage benefits. -Check in on yelp when you arrive! I did as I was leaving and saw they are offering a $5 off for checking in. -When you turn on Oberlin from Mira Mesa Blvd, GO SLOW. It's easy to miss as it's literally around the curve, and sneaks up on you. read more

I've been dealing with pain from my lumbar and thoracic spine for almost a year now. My quality of life was needing improvement as it was beginning to decline big time from the lack of activities and sports these injuries put a huge hamper on. I've seen other chiropractors and physical therapists. It never seemed to help with the issue I was going through. I've stopped doing the things I loved because of it. Then I fell into depression. That's when I decided to give chiropractic another try. Something near my work would be nice. I burned through all my sick time seeing therapists. That's when I found Dr. Visico at Mira Mesa Chiropractic. He was courteous to take my call and sent me the new patient intake forms through email to help speed things up. That was awesome. From scheduling an appointment, initial consultation, to treatment. Dr. Visico is thorough throughout and is very knowledgeable in his craft. Other chiropractors would pop your back and send you on your way, but Dr. Visico is the opposite. He listens, feels, then applies the treatment towards the are of concern. After he noticed the areas that needed treatment, he addressed all the spots of my vertebra and began his magic. I felt a feeling of sadness present itself inside my chest as my spine was being aligned as though I wanted to cry. It was weird. But after aligning my spine and neck, it went away and so did the pain and the spasms. I was able to walk normal and regained mobility in this areas. I was in disbelief. After that day, I was able to resume training in mixed martial arts, lift weights at the gym, run, spar, and go for long walks, etc. The feeling of helplessness went away. This place is amazing. Change my mind! I've been meaning to write a Yelp! review after going to this chiropractic office a week ago, but I just had a hectic week and forgot to write it. Anyway... I just finished getting my adjustment with Dr. Visico for the 2nd time. I'm actually sitting here at the parking lot (plenty of parking). Last week I made a call to this office to get adjusted because stupid me got into an accident while riding an ATV and when I walk I'm in all sorts of pain. Found this place on yelp and made a call and ask if they accept my insurance. Grace - front desk, was very helpful. She answered all my questions and she asked if she can call me back while she gets authorization from my health insurance. She got back to me in less than 20 minutes and stated Dr. Visico had an opening same day. I got up and rushed to make it to the appointment. If its your first time at this practice, you're required to fill out the usual first time patient form. Grace is able to send it to you via online. However, since I didn't have a printer i had to fill it in office and provided 15min prior to my appt. Finding the office wasn't difficult at all. It is located in sorrento Valley right off pacific heights. Plenty of parking space and the area was quiet. They're located in suite #204. They area has stairs and elevator access. Dr. Visico does an amazing job at what he does! From communication to him cracking bones.. and jokes. He makes sure I am comfortable before and after the adjustments. He gave me pointers on how I can maintain my joints and not have it in pain. I knew more about my joints and different exercises each visit. Dr. Visico is someone you can feel comfortable talking to. Came here for first time and had an utmost excellent experience. The staff was friendly and greeted me upon entrance. As I caught note of the serene and relaxing music in the background, I was quickly taken into my quarters. After a short briefing of my ailments and physical history Dr. Visico began his work of art. Like a California earthquake he "cracked" me in places I did not know could crack. I have never received treatment here, and actually, I have never received chiropractic treatment from anyone at any time. However, as a personal injury attorney who handles a lot of auto cases, I am constantly involved with chiropractors and get a pretty unique behind the scenes perspective towards how they practice. I attended a deposition a few months ago in which Dr. Savage was testifying an an expert witness on behalf of one of her former patients. Her outfit rates very highly in terms of their record keeping, and she was definitely one of the more knowledgeable chiropractors that I have come across. I would imagine that the attention to detail translates very well towards the care of their patients. If I were to ever need to get treatment from a chiropractor, Dr. Savage would be one of my top picks. Additional bonus points for close proximity to a very nice driving range. read more

Mira Mesa was recommended by several coworkers so I decided to be more open minded about chiropractic care and check it out. I met with Dr. Theobald and explained my hesitations and he was very patient with me and allowed me to warm up to the idea of being adjusted. I am a caregiver for a man in his 90s. We came here as a new client for a chiropractic appointment and a massage appointment, both. Dr. Theobald was exceptionally kind and patient. He made the chiropractic appointment, a breeze. Jeff was our masseuse, and he was a very kind young man. He treated my client with respect and kindness. Both of the young ladies working the front desk, were also very sweet and helpful. I appreciate the way the staff interacted with my client, and with myself. The only reason for my taking a couple of stars off, was only on personal opinion of the office. I have worked in several spas, and like being in a place of serenity when paying for a receiving more expensive health (or beauty) services. Especially when it comes to chiropractic and massage services. The only thing serene about this place, is the soft music. These are services you should be relaxed for, and this environment does not promote relaxation or a calming energy. You can even hear their neighbors on the other sides of the walls, who have the office next door. However.. There are 5 massage chairs in the back, they provide for their clients during the wait time before/during/after services. Today was my very first visit at this office, I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of professionalism and politeness experienced. Grace is amazing at following up with appointments and accommodating my busy schedule. She is always personable and made me feel welcomed into the space. She informed me of the problem by showing me diagrams, so that I am aware of what is going( something that my other chiropractor failed to do) In addition, she walked me through exercises and performed adjustments that pinpointed the problems. I've been having lower back issues due to improper form when working out, but Dr. Tanaka took care of the pain and lined me right up! He does an excellent job of knowing exactly how to adjust me. Walked in his office at 5'11 and walked out at 6'1! I don't know if this had to do with the adjustment, but I had a lot more energy through out the day and sleep really well that night. I had an amazing experience! I saw Dr. Visico, who assessed me after I explained my situation. I had a back injury a few months ago. He ran me through some motion exercises and knew exactly what was wrong. Dr. Visico was able to pin point my exact issues as well as explained why I was having further complications.
