CLEAN, SAFE and THE PERFECT STAYCATION As a solo gal and new RVer this place will hold a special place for me during my training-wheel RV experience. I learned how to use my rig on the weekends among the tall beautiful redwoods. The neighbors were nice and even showed me how to get my water heater started, another invited me over for dinner one night which made my stay special. The bathrooms were cleaned daily, always had TP and showers always had hot water. I always felt safe even walking to the bathroom at night. The best campground experience to date. The staff was cheerful and friendly. Mirabel made my list of favorites thank you for the nice time. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION From this location one can find a store with ATM and deli sandwiches; a Michelin rated restaurant with sommelier all within a half mile. Another mile away find the town of Forestville (pop. 3,293) for anything else you might need or want such as a coffee cafe, bakery, post office, pizza, laundry, hardware, farmers market and pharmacy; Santa Rosa airport (STS) is 7.5 miles away and Northwoods golf course is 11 miles. Lots of authentic, small-town, down-home people and charming, unique West County businesses to find and enjoy, it's the best part of the Sonoma County. Our group has been singled out multiple times for minor issues but will blatantly ignore loud parties and music going well past 10pm. I would come back if she was gone. Can I give zero stars? Mirabel has always been a wonderful resort and a place my family has enjoyed for many years. That is why this experience was so disappointing. Our interactions with the camp host, Laura, were the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. Rather than resolving minor issues professionally, she repeatedly escalated them with hostility and unnecessary confrontation. Her communication was rude, demeaning, and far below the standard guests should expect. On multiple occasions, she approached our campsite yelling, including in front of our children, creating an uncomfortable and stressful environment. Instead of helping guests feel welcome, her behavior appeared focused on intimidation and asserting authority over minor matters. What is especially concerning is that many of the one-star reviews on Yelp appear to center on her customer service and similar negative interactions with guests. These types of interactions have also occurred nearly every year for the past 10 years or more, suggesting a long-standing and consistent pattern rather than an isolated issue. Mirabel itself remains a beautiful and special place, which makes this even more unfortunate. No guest should be treated this way. Management should take these repeated concerns seriously, because one person's conduct should not overshadow an otherwise great destination. read more

Camping trip...its been almost 2yrs since we went...my besti picked this place out and it is pretty cool place.. Clean bathroom , each camp area had electricity and water. Russian River was perfect, friendly campers around no crazy people.. The staff when we checked in was really nice and helpful...of course it's only 5 miles and always keep your dig on the leash at all times. We had a big group 4 families so we had so much fun. We recommend this place and I give this place a 5 star. But there are people with RVs that lives there which they were not bother and were pretty nice. read more

I have been coming here all my life and have the best memories here, but the blonde lady that walks around barefoot or rides around in that cart is very rude and has made Mirabel a horrible place to come camping now. I don't know how long she's been there but she needs to go. She needs to remember that this is a business at the end of the day instead of treating people like we are running all over her lawn. I remember when Mirabel had an arcade but now they charge $100 just to use the horseshoes lol. I hope they change their management and how they run this place and really work on their customer service because I hope to continue our family tradition with my children but if not I will be going to CASINI RANCH right down the street which I highly recommend! read more

Wow, when I told Laura I was going to write on Yelp what she did to us, she was not fazed, and I see why. There are TONS of negative zero reports on here, but my story is unique. My brother celebrated his birthday here for many years, since he camped at the Russian River since he was a child. He always brought a cash deposit months in advance for our group of campers. He died unexpectedly weeks before his birthday this year, and as his sister, sad and shocked, I gathered a small group of us to go up to remember him this last time. I called Laura and told her the situation and she seemed very shocked and saddened by his death, but she confirmed the campsites with his deposit. At 11 am on the Friday we were to arrive, she called to say she closed the campground because she tested positive for covid, and we couldn't come. A dozen of us were packed and ready to leave for my brother's memorial birthday weekend. I was shocked. She didn't apologize, or offer any voucher, or refund of his deposit. We were left scrambling for somewhere else to go, and luckily found Casini's, a much nicer place, but we arrived very late and our plans were greatly damaged. I drove through the campsite on Friday night on the way to Casini's. Laura was there in the booth, and there were some, not many people camping. On the way home, I stopped again and asked some of the campers why they were there since the camp was closed to covid. Two campsites told me that all you have to do is leave money in the envelope with your name and pick any spot you want. I looked at the office, and sure enough, there were the envelopes. So she cancelled our trip dishonestly and probably kept the money. DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS THEY ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. read more

If you like shade, under the redwoods, this is your place. We are local & friends came here to camp. The little town is sweet, with several shops & a few options for food. The whole park needs a facelift. Gets really muddy in the winter. There are no lines to help with where your actual campsite is. There are actually resident "campers" which says trailer park to me. Lots of junkyard trash laying around. River Road is non-stop traffic. It gets pretty noisy. Won't recommend to family again unless it's summertime & site is only needed to park a big trailer. read more

Beautiful campsite, Rude worker. We tried to be dropped off, as we had before with no issues even when discussing it with rhe workers there if it was okay, but the lady working was cold and clearly didn't want us there. I loved this place as a nice spot next to the river to get out and relax but this really turned me away. We had everything bought (snacks, ice, etc.) and were turned away when we got there to reserve the site. At least reject us before we spend around $100 on food and supplies. read more

Post-camping update: According to my 15-year-old, everyone was nice and the bathrooms were clean. She said that someone rolled through both nights at 11 to remind campers that quiet time had started. I give this place zero stars. We booked online by looking at their website. Boy is it deceiving. DO NOT STAY HERE. I REPEAT, DO NOT STAY HERE. You check in from outside due to the COVID, they only take cash!!! I have a feeling they are avoiding the IRS, why else wouldn't they take debit and credit cards? The IRS cannot track cash, maybe they have issues with banks too. Next, you will see pictures to backup my statement. Immediately after leaving the check in hut, you run into at least a dozen gross and disgusting broken down trailer trash places. Trash, broken cars, crap, big ugly wooden boxes, piles of wood, etc!!! Some places are all moldy and many have years worth of dirt and leaves covering them. This IS NOT AN RV PARK, IT IS A TRAILER PARK. They only have 110 power, with glass fuses, not circuit breakers. You are not allowed to run your air-conditioner. There is no sewer hookups, and some places it looks like you have to share a water bib. The spaces are not well marked. We were told to be in a space, we searched for it and backed in. The number is on a wooden board in a tree. Our site has a broken picnic table, it is unusable. The fireplace as they call it is 3 sides of concrete about 18" square. The first morning after our first of 3 nights, the lady host told us we are in the wrong space. I pointed to the tree and said no we are not. She then said we were supposed to be 1/2 space to our right. I again pointed to the tree. She said they usually paint lines on the road to distinguish spaces but they haven't done it in a while. That's not my fault. That's the laziness of the management. There are signs that say "dogs must be on leash at all times, strictly enforced." Our neighbors have 2 loose dogs, and we saw at least 6 other loose dogs. There is dog poop everywhere. What kind if places is this? There is a steep walking trail down to A VERY SMALL access to the river. People leave their kayaks and floatables there. They also leave their trash there. There are people riding motorcycles up and down this walking trail, it is dangerous and shouldn't be allowed. I noticed that after people left, no one came around to check or clean the used spaces. YUCK! If you get far enough away from the long term people, you can get some nice spots with big trees. Other than that, I have nothing good to say. By the way, this dump sits right against THE VERY NOISY RIVER ROAD! VERY NOISY 24 hrs non-stop!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! See photos. I was afraid to take too many, but you will get the point. read more

I've gone here a handful of times and it's been ok until the lady who worked here was incredibly rude for no reason, more than once. First she yelled about going slightly over the 5mph speed limit. Not an assertive reminder -a full-on meltdown. I wasn't even driving and we weren't really even going fast (just higher than 5mph apparently), but even after I apologized and said we'd be more careful she kept yelling, berating me loudly and saying that if it happened again we would not be allowed to return. She was having a full temper tantrum right there in front of me! I said, "Wow, I guess we won't be coming back here anymore." She said, "Good!" Later after we had packed everything up and were in the car leaving she came up and yelled at us again, "Checkout is 11 o'clock, you need to pack up your **** and leave. Now." (It was like 11:02 and we were already packed up and in the car.) I told her she was going to get a bad review and she just said, "Go ahead! I don't care!" So here it is. I recently stayed at Casini Ranch up the road a bit and had a wonderful experience with great customer service, so I'll be going back there instead. Such a difference in how they treat their paying customers. They went out of their way to be helpful and friendly, the opposite of this lady who seemed to be going out of her way to be mean and nasty. It's like, sorry lady, I'm just trying to give you some business, you know? I'd rather go someplace where you aren't right next to the road anyway, it kinda takes away from the camping experience having to listen to cars going back and forth all night. And clean restrooms would be nice. And toilet paper, always a plus. I highly, HIGHLY recommend skipping this place. What a dump! read more

Staff definitely has an attitude problem. A smile is rare. A bark is all too frequent. The grounds' self proclaimed 'narc' is an abnoxious wannabe police officer all but giving paying guests traffic tickets. I bought firewood and immediately was approached by staff asking if I stole it. Go figure. One toilet facility and shower for the whole camp, too far a walk so you settle for peeing in the disgusting portapotties. The constructed toilets aren't much better. Definitely a bit of a ghetto feel, with loud music exploding various speakers. Other times the noise level is unreasonably high at bizarre hours. Called 3 times to make a reservation but had no answer and no one bothered calling me back. Despite all this we did enjoy our stay, so I guess it could be worse. read more

This place was great! I can't wait to make this a yearly tent camping family destination. We showed up right at closing time and they greeted us with a friendly smile. They had firewood for sale which was super helpful as we forgot to bring any. I wish I would have taken photos of the park but we were too busy having fun. Pros: Clean campsite, hot clean showers, clean restrooms, electric outlet at the campsite, running water faucet, firepit with a metal grill cover to cook on, picnic bench, the price was budget-friendly, they have a little beach with river access, and even though we didn't bring ours I love that they allow pets. Seeing all the floofers enjoying camping was fun. Cons: Road noise at night and being cash only. (these cons aren't enough to keep me from coming back!) The whole family had a fun time. The price was most def worth it for what it was! The camp grounds seemed more like a trailer park, and the camp sites were extremely small. However, staff was really nice. Each site have running water, make shift fire pit and electric sockets. It does seem to have a lot of parties, drinking and enjoying themselves until all hours of the night. They have a 5 mph speed limit for the road, which is good for the kiddos. They have a lighted bathroom /shower for the guest. The whole grounds is covered in tons ash and dirt, large trees give a comfortable shade, and what was the Russian river is one side while the other side is the main road. The rent out canoes but not kayaks currently. read more

Never have I ever experienced such blatant racism our family was camping there and we arrive late night. When we tried to enter a Caucasian woman yelled and screamed at us to leave and to go back to our country (we are of Hispanic decent). She kept yelling for us to leave never come back. She threaten us by saying she had our license plate number and told us that she would call the police on us. She was so disrespectful and not once did she say why we cannot enter. We had a reservation and our families were inside but we chose to leave then to stoop to her level and cause a bigger scene. The next day our families left as well because she kept coming by the campsite and harassing them, this place might as well have a sign that says whites only. read more

Right next to highway very noisy. Packed in like sardines not very comfortable could here people snoring. Overflowing porta potties and bathrooms were funky. Half the place is a not desirable to look at trailer park very sketchie. Lake access is a joke, only reason second night was better is because it was a Sunday and place cleared out so we weren't so packed in. After reading the reviews, I was scared to spend the night at Mirabel' s. However, we were all pleasantly surprised when we arrived! Everything was clean, people were nice, and there's river access from the campground. Noise levels were fine (except the children who woke up at 6am - but that's expected at most car camping places). Sure, there are RV's and people may live there (not sure), but that was not a problem at all. The tent and the RV sites are separated, and everything was good. They have bathrooms with flushing toilets, showers, and port-o-potties. The bathrooms were fine. Not meticulous, but just fine. We will definitely be camping again at Mirabel's. read more

My Previous review was relocated, so I'm re-posting it again! Negative stars if I could! Terrible Customer Service!! The offsite owner Sidney Stephen Scherer should witness just how poorly customers are treated by the manager Lora! She (Lora) is personally responsible for losing our future Camping & Wedding Ceremony! My Fiancé & I arrived on Sunday 8/7/16 in the early afternoon, and no one was available in the office. We've been here before so we just pitched our tent & set up grounds as usual. Early Monday morning, (8/8/16) we were awakened by the Gardener telling us that we had to move our tent! He said that they're expecting a wedding party Labor Day weekend (4 weeks away) & that he needed to mow & water the Lawn. I told him that it's too late now? The 2 of us are both disabled & we're already set up? Nobody told us that we couldn't set up here? He said That the Office is at Fault for not telling us, & that the Lawn could probably go another week without mowing (as we're at the end of the thinning grass) but the office told him to say that we have to move now! I said that this situation is F'cked up! The Gardener apparently went back to the office & had words with the Manager Lora. She (Lora) came down to our campsite & told us that we have 2 options here! Move our tent now, or she'll call the Sheriff to make us leave! I said (from inside my tent) that somebody should have told us that we couldn't set up here BEFORE we got situated, as we are both disabled! She said that she did! (which she didn't) I told her again that we are both disabled, & it's very difficult to set up our Campsite! We would never want to set up twice? She again rudely reinforced that she's calling the Sheriff! I told her that this is Bull-Sh_t! (meaning this whole situation). "Did you just use profanity at me? I have to put up with many bad campers here, plus I'm having a difficult time dealing with my ex-husband in Court, so I'm not tolerating any of this! We did relocate our tent in the dusty dirt. Soon our food, tent & belongings were covered with dirt, as employees of the campground didn't obey the speed limit in their Golf-carts, & tossed up the dirt! I'm sorry, but most everyone has issues that don't belong to tthe Public! Lora truly lacks proper Customer Service skills! She needs to understand that as the Manager, she represents Mirabel Campgrounds & the Owner Sidney Stephen Scherer. Money makes this Campground operate, & Lora is chasing us away! An employee named Mary, should be the Manager! She understands how to treat customers well! Mary brought us some firewood & apologized for our terrible experience! Thank you so much Mary! Camp Mirabel is a small campground with electric outlets and water at every campsite. They also have bathrooms and free showers. A horseshoe pit (20 bucks deposit gets you a set of horseshoes), fire pits at every campsite...and access to a semi-swampy swimming hole. It's a fast turn off of River Rd- watch for addresses and slow down appropriately or you will miss it. The ups: obviously electricity, water, river access (bring your floaties or rafts..the water doesn't move and it's shallow- the kids will have fun!). The owners are on site at all times and are ready to assist you QUICKLY. They are loose with their rules as long as you are not obnoxious and irritate your close-by campsites. Music, noise, fun is all good. 2-3 tents per campsite, 2 cars per campsite. CHEAP prices (20+bux) and picnic tables. The downs: umm..inner-city folk. Let's just leave it at that. Who the hell told gang-bangers about camping? At one point, one family asked a campsite to shut-it down and the offender said.."It's CAMPING Maaaaain! If you want peace and quiet, go HOME ESSSE!". WTF? No dude. Camping is about nature. Your floodlights and tuba music is SO-NOT natural. The sheriffs were called because a little threat of a kerfuffle lingered. They were told to leave the next morning. The next night...same thing- except the offending gang banger from a different campsite crossed the territory of a woman with lungs. GBer #1 was being held back by 3 friends and he didn't likey..so he knocked dem foooz out. Sheriffs were called and arrived in minutes...left with GB in the car. Because there are GBer's here, there seem to have come with them NO campsite etiquette. Bring twine and stakes so that people know not to walk through your campsite. I could not keep these foools and their spawn out of my campsite or away from my tent no matter what I did (parked the car strategically, put shoes in front of my tent to keep them off my path, etc). Whoever told Gangsta's about camping should've told them about the unspoken rules that come with people who want to be outdoors. Aside from the people who camp there (you have no control over that), you can still enjoy yourself~ we stayed up playing drinking games and laughing but we were not obnoxious about it so no one messed with us too much. Everyone agreed that although there was ruckus, it was the BEST camping experience we had all had (company, beer, food, supplies). Sometimes the company you keep can make a big difference. read more

After having a canoe trip down the Russian River planned, the decision was to find a place nearby to campout so we can wake up early and be able to break down camp and be there at a decent hour. Little did we know that choosing this camp ground (the "trailer park" aspect was unfortunately overlooked, even though it is the more fitting modifier) would mean putting up with a night of drunken rowdiness and obnoxiously loud, terrible music. Not even once did I hear a check in from the camp management or ranger or whoever telling people to quiet down after the 11pm noise curfew. The set up itself was not unlike a tent city or post apocalyptic gypsy camp complete with shady characters straight from Deliverance. Our campsite in particular barely accommodated 2 4-person tents and 2 sedan cars; because of that we couldn't use the firepit without risking setting the tents on fire. The bathrooms were full of wacky surprises, like cigarette butts on the toilet paper dispenser and food scraps in the urinal - credit both the clientele and management for that. Oh! And after somehow managing to doze off among the cacophony, I was woken up at 3:30am with a Jerry Springer domestic dispute happening right outside our tent consisting of drunken shouting matches peppered with audible physical violence. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hellhole at all costs, especially if you have to get up in the morning hours, have young children, and/or value your life at all as a human being. read more

Growing up, my parents were not the outdoorsy type at all. Their view was that they worked so hard to put a roof over our head at night, so why would we ever sleep outside on the ground if we don't have to? This summer though, I finally went camping for the first time ever with my girlfriend and six of our friends. We decided to stay at the Mirabel Camp Ground. My first thoughts on being here were, "Well, camping isn't nearly as rough as I thought it would be." This place had electricity at every site as well as water. We also had a fire pit. There were four port-a-potties close, but not too close, to our camp site, and there were actual bathrooms with showers (with warm water) a short walk away. The staff at Mirabel were also good about keeping all of the facilities clean. Someone had vomited in one the port-a-potties, and they cleaned it up within the hour. Also, in case you forget anything, they sell supplies at the main office. The location of this place is great! It's right next to Burke's Canoe Rentals, and their is a convenience store that is a very short drive or a short walk away. The other camp sites were a bit loud, but we were so worn out from canoeing that we fell asleep quickly anyway. I can see how this could be annoying for others though. I may not be the best person to review this place, as it was my first camping experience, but I really enjoyed my time at Mirabel and can't wait to go camping again. read more

With reservation in place the week prior, when we walk up to the front office to check-in, the lady says, "ohh, we gave your campsite away and there is no more availability". We then ask to speak to the manager to see if they can reconcile this mistake and the lady who comes out is already in defensive mode and asks us to leave after we question the customer service policy. She claimed she had called me but does not even want to look at my phone screen to see that I never received any missed calls from anyone in the surrounding area code. The lady who is supposed to be the manager says, "We have the right to refuse you service, so I want you to leave, NOW!". The aggression that she showed was unbelievable, and I think it is because she did not want to discuss her mistake anymore. Do not go here-- the service is mean and unprofessional. We ended up driving all the way back home because no one else had availability for the day of, which is expected. read more

Ok, So I've been back to Mirabel three times since my original review. Once for just the day while some friends were camping and two other times for a weekend camping trip with friends. First, my original "pros" still apply. The electricity and water at every site is very helpful. I didn't find the bathrooms particularly gross, for campsite bathrooms. You aren't at a hotel... and I don't expect the same cleanliness. The cons, well, they have gotten worse. The "long time" residents in this place sometimes get sort of ridiculous. When you first drive in through the "trailer" section.... it is NOT camping. Folks have their trailers set up and they are clearly there for the long haul and they look at you crazy as you are driving through. The camper by the bathroom has a bunch of cats that seem to have had kittens since i was there the first time this summer. The last time I was there, there was a huge domestic fight around 3am and the cops were called. I was told that the offender was "taken home", but that the group got to stay because they are friends of the owners. I'm not sure why that matters, when an entire group of people are screaming at each other for 30 minutes at 3am. The rules seem to be enforced when they feel like it. We were there on a Thursday when the campground was almost empty, and were told to turn down our music around 10pm. But, other folks partying well into the night on Friday and Saturday didn't seem to be asked to quiet down. I wouldn't suggest this campground for folks with kids. It is a party spot, not a good spot for familes. The upside is... if you are going to hang out and drink with your friends, they will probably leave you alone. The downside is, they leave everyone else alone too. So, if you have any interest in sleeping and/or peace & quiet before 11pm or midnight... this is not a good choice. read more

I'm still here and counting down the minutes before we leave. If you have a trailer... don't bother. The sites are so close that it took half and hour to park. We can't leave until all the campsites around us leave, we're likely to crush some tents. I have a commercial Class A license, and this place is a nightmare even for me! Stayed here once. Boy is it disgusting. More like a low end trailer park than it is a campground. Facilities, absolutely gross. If you like camping next to trailers that are there for the mainstay, with tarps and trash everywhere, this is your place. Management, rude as can be. read more

This place will be OK for you if you have low standards. It appears to be mostly residents or long-term visitors in RVs. There's trash around. The spots are close together. And you gotta love loud road noise. Could you at least put a few hooks in the women's bathroom? Could you put in a hand dryer or paper towels? The trees are nice and the frogs sing at night.
