We knew this was going to be our forever home so had high expectations- which Interstate truly exceeded. Interstate Homes was the only builder we visited with genuinely personable staff, transparent communication, and zero pressure. Deciding to build with them was hands down the best decision we could have made- and a true Turnkey experience. From day one Neil, Tim, Eddie and the rest of the crew were incredible to work with. Our journey started at the showroom when we met Tim. He gave us his direct contact information right off the bat and patiently walked us through every single detail. He worked with us through more than 20 floor plan revisions until the layout was absolutely perfect and helped us decide when we were stuck on design details like backsplash color. Shortly after, Neil came out to walk our raw property- which at that time was just an open field through the trees. He saw the potential that we saw and helped us visualize our dream- mapping out the land and designing our walkout basement picture-perfect. When build time came, Greg and crew did phenomenal work handling all the groundwork and foundation construction. Doing the site prep, extensive grading, installing the engineered septic system, constructing the ICF foundation, and pouring the basement flooring. Then the interstate crew stick-built the rest of the walk out and got the site all ready for delivery. As with any build, we ran into massive external headaches- from bank financing hurdles to months and months of waiting for NYSEG to set electric poles. Because of those delays, our home delivery got pushed right into the dead of winter. Through every single schedule change, Interstate was there to help us along the way and made the very stressful process seem much less stressful. They adjusted their own timeline to accommodate us and despite having plenty of other customers, they truly made us feel like we were their only one. ​Their character really showed on delivery day. Due to transit delays, the trucks had to navigate a narrow, hilly town road in pitch-black darkness. A tire accidently caught a small edge of our neighbor's lawn, and Neil was back out the very next morning to repair and reseed it without hesitation. That level of accountability and respect is rare and hard to find. ​Once the house was set, Eddie and the rest of the Interstate crew went straight to work assembling the interior, finishing the siding, doing the plumbing and electric, completing the hookups, and much more. They even took on extras that were not on their original list, like installing our high-efficiency heat pump water heater when we made a last-minute switch away from the propane. When we were in the final stretch before the walk through and move in day, workers even volunteered to work on a holiday just to finish our front entryway steps so we could get our CO in time. ​We couldn't be more pleased with the build quality of our home and the character, communication, professionalism, and expertise of the entire Interstate Homes crew. This is what brought me in there, I was in need of a pellet stove. So anyway, I stopped in one morning and talked to Kristen, for no other reason than she's the lucky one that was at the counter when I got there. She spent a good solid half hour with me answering lots of random questions I had about pellet stoves. I probably took more time with her than I should have however she didn't seem to mind so it was all good. I did go ahead and purchase my pellet stove from here and the experience was very good. Now I will be the first to tell you that I am not the easiest person sometimes to deal with and a lot of that is mostly because of my schedule. Instead of calling Kirsten on the phone to iron out the final details I did 90% of it by email as I work overnights and sleep when their store is open. This worked out pretty well as between her and Shauna they got back to me in the next day and I had my answer that evening when I checked email. I arranged for installation and was even able to talk them into having me install guys show up a little earlier than they usually would, once again because of my work schedule. They were pleasant and professional and got the job done in just a couple hours. I have only had the chance to burn the stove a couple of times since having installed however I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend Johnson's pool and spas if the need arises. I am still waiting on delivery of 3 tons of pellets however I don't foresee any problems or difficulty with this is why I'm posting this review now. In addition to the installation they also come out every year if you require it to clean your stove for the next season, and I fully plan on calling them for this because, well I'm just that lazy.

The pool heater was installed incorrectly, making it impossible to connect the gas line, and the smart automation system was never fully programmed or integrated. When I asked them to correct their installation errors, I was told I would have to pay additional money to fix work I had already paid for. I also left this experience feeling that I was treated differently because of my race, which made an already frustrating situation even more upsetting. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

One of the employees called me names and followed up by threatening me with violence. I was there for the third time too see if my chainsaw had been serviced. The first two visits the promised that it would be taken care of right away. This time they said that the tag didn't mention what was wrong with it. The first time I visited they asked me to write my name and number on a tag. Nobody asked me to fill out the tag with the description of what was wrong. I simply told them that it was leaking gas. Second time I visited we also talked about that it was leaking gas, and they promised to get on it right away. I guess they were getting tired of me asking about the saw. For an employee to escalate personal frustrations to the point where the customer is called names and threatened with physical harm is not only unpleasant but illegal. The fact that it is illegal is probably why the business owner has chosen to deny everything with references to security cameras that only he has seen. Let's hope that changes are being made behind the scenes so that future customers won't be exposed to that kind of behavior.

When we got it back, not only did they do a great job on the tuneup, they also replaced a leaking part that we weren't aware of and even topped off the gas tank for us.
