2 months after refinishing my kitchen sink, it was discolored by stains. I contacted them on what to do about it and they suggested using Scrubbing Bubbles. I did with no change. After I let them know I was dissatisfied with this situation, they said their guarantee doesn't cover stains. The install technician told us that the finish would not stain. They then sent me an estimate of $150 to come and resurface it. At that point, notwithstanding that the technician said not to use Ajax on it, I did it out of desperation. It did the job. I hope that it doesn't do any long term harm or I'll be paying $150 every 2 months!!! Not a happy camper. read more

Value Scott and Americo did a FABULOUS job restoring my tub, and it wasn't an easy fix. Much to my chagrin, I hired another company to complete the job first. After two failed attempts and paint that never set, Scott really was my 'third time charm' and saved the day. I especially liked that he used non-toxic materials to strip the existing surface. He also matched the tub's paint to my basin and toilet so everything looks beautiful and cohesive. The finished surface is smooth, glossy, and extremely durable. No. Pay the money to buy a new counter top. Just do it. Do not use these people and their toxic smelling spray on chemicals. They will not last and they do not look like actual granite or marble. They sprayed my shower pan and sink counter top and I regret it every day. The shower pan cracked a year later resulting in water leaking through the floor of the shower and causing mold/ water damage. The sink vanity top looks really cheap and I'm going to have to get that replaced. Overall it was a total waste of money and I wish I could go back in time and not use them. read more

Rarely have I seen service like this from a private company. Their branch outside Washington DC bent over backward for me in several ways. They agreed to postpone a visit that I had arranged when a delay with our contractor arose. When we rescheduled, they came and did an excellent job. The tub looked wonderful. But there was a tiny problem. I wanted a greater non-slip surface on the bottom of the tub. I called and they said, no worries. We'll send someone back out. They came today, again a great job. Another thing: They were really good about phone calls and text messages saying when they would arrive. These guys are great! read more

I couldn't be happier with Miracle Method. My house was built in 1957 and it had the original bathroom tile and floors, and kitchen counter. The estimates I received from other more major renovations were about the third of the value of the house. I read about Miracle Method in a Fall 2014 Washington Post article about budget-conscious renovations and called. I expected them to be busy after the article came out and they were but the owner even came on her weekend day off to provide an estimate that was in my range. Once the work started, it was professional, timely and responsive. The crew was professional, The owner came by to check at least daily. My house is no longer stuck in the 1950s and looks great. They covered my pink tile walls and tan bathtub with a beautiful white textured paint.. I couldn't be happier!!! It really is beautiful and no more pink. Happy days are here again. :) But, before using them make sure you know that you can't use every cleaner to clean the tub. They recommend Formula 409 and you're supposed to wax it periodically (regular car wax is fine I think). I'm pretty sure you don't have to wax the walls, just the bathtub because of soap scum, etc. Another suggestion if you're doing tile is to replace ALL of your existing tile soap trays, toothbrush holders, towel bars, etc. - anything that sticks out from the wall. I didn't replace my toilet paper holder and they painted it the same as the walls. It doesn't look bad - but it would look much better if it was different than the wall tile. They added some corner shelves in the bathtub and they look great. I did not have the problems some other reviewers mentioned with bad customer service or overspraying - although I did have an issue with some paint coming off the wall and trim when they removed the tape. I already knew I was going to paint the bathroom when they finished so I didn't care about it. The installers were nice, professional and punctual. About 3 weeks after they finished someone chipped the bathtub. I don't blame Miracle Method at all for this, because I know how it happened and it was a crazy fluke - and it's not likely to happen to anyone else. However, I'll call Miracle Method and update this review with their response. Overall, I'd recommend. As soon as I finished my review I called them up and explained about the chips. They've scheduled someone to come out to my house and repair them at no charge. I'm changing my review to 5 stars. read more

This new franchise June 2020 in Delray Brach is to avoided. After causing choking fumes to circulate extensively through my house, they proceeded to drop corrosive chemicals on my bathroom floor tile and bedroom carpet, gauge drywall, loose drain hardware, and permanently damaged my cultured marble tub by using a razor to strip an inaccurately applied surface.which they installed. I have asked the owner, Evan Gilbert, at least three time to come out to see the damage , and he has refused. He recently texted me that the only way, he would try to clean the floor was for me to pay them everything we originally contracted for upfront. Obviously, these people do not care to make the customer happy. Run like the wind; they are very dangerous to the health and beauty of your home. read more

My girlfriend recently setup a small tub glazing job with Miracle Method at a condo in DC. On the date the work was to take place, we had no contact from Miracle Method workmen or customer service. Following up the next day to request an invoice, we were informed the work did not take place because the workman could not find parking. No call--no contact whatsoever until we had contacted them with the expectation that the work was completed. A contractor that cannot find street parking in residential DC neighborhoods during the day on a weekday should not be working in the city. Period. I couldn't imagine telling my employer that I was a no-call, no-show at work because of parking. Compounding the dubious nature of this excuse is the existence of a loading/unloading space directly in front of the building--if they even required heavier equipment to be dropped off before (heaven forbid) parking around the block on an 85 degree summer day. This workmen simply didn't want to park anywhere else but the building garage and left when the contractor space was taken. This laziness followed up by a complete lack customer service regarding a lame-excuse brush off is why this outfit should be avoided. read more

Several years ago, MM restored an antique bathroom for us and did an outstanding job. So I was a very satisfied customer and called with the intention of using their services again to apply tile over a brick surface. I had several phone conversations with Mary to describe the scope of the job and arrange for an in-person estimate. A week following the site visit to quote the job, I had heard nothing from them. I made several calls over the 2nd week to enquire about the estimate. I received variations of the same story: "They're swamped but will send you the estimate tomorrow...." However, at the start of the third week, she indicated they had "concerns" about the job and would call the following day to discuss them with me. Two more days went by without a word. On the next call I was told to expect the estimate by the following Monday. I agreed but told her if I didn't receive the estimate by then, I would seek another vendor. Shortly after we hung up, I received an e-mail from her saying the job was outside their experience level and they were not willing to take the risk?? While I'm still happy with the original work they did, I would not use their services again, nor can I recommend them any further. read more

I used Miracle Method to install shower grab bars and new faucet and shower. The technician was great and did a terrific job. He was focused and very detailed. I would suggest doing your own research on what type of accessories to install. I accepted the grab bars they suggested without considering what they would look like and found it wasn't the look I wanted in my small shower. I had to have them removed and new ones installed. Much better than we ever expected. They redid our entire master bath including bathtub, all tiles, installed new vanity and toilet, and medicine cabinet, and rehung a new L shaped shower rod. They also removed the old tile soap holders and toilet paper holders and installed much more usable corner shelves. Also installed a safety bar in the tub. Finally they removed the old wallpaper and repainted. AND one of their guys built us a custom radiator cover. A few minor problems were fixed promptly without complaint or extra cost and the final cost was to the penny of their estimate, which was about 15% of the cost of a complete remodel. Had our original claw foot tub resurfaced just 2 years ago. Initially was over joyed with the transformation. Within the first year they had to return and repair twice, then resurface on the third call. I'm now preparing to call yet again. My opinion is it looks great if your tub is a decorative item and not for daily use. By the way, got no information initially regarding care and cleaning (only told wait 24 ours and use as usual) Since then have followed all instructions, except the one I just read in these reviews regarding waxing (?) We would have provided a lower rating for Miracle Method Surface Restoration if it wasn't for the hard working receptionist (Margaret) and the two gentlemen (Carlos and Luis) that performed the fiberglass tub cut out. Our pre-arranged appointment with the business owner, on March 21, was a "no show." Frustrating as the condo is not near our home. We did receive verbal apologies with the promise of showing up the next day. The next day a representative showed up. While this person was verbally knowledgeable, there were no photos of similar work or paperwork to move the process along. Fortunately, Margaret located and sent a photo that same day. We then received a proposal, and the work was scheduled within 4 working days. The cutout is perfect. Carlos and Luis arrived on time, covered vulnerable areas, performed the cut out, and removed all debris. Fantastic work! No idea about those old 1-star reviews but this is 2014. I just contacted MM to re-surface my cast iron tub. Mary Ann is prompt and responsive. She arrived at my house on-time to provide the initial consultation. She even graciously gave me a discount on the service! They can do a variety of things including re-grouting your tiles, replacing old drains and faucets, as well as the re-surfacing. I opted just for the resurfacing of my cast iron tub. I didn't want to haul it out and replace (it's heavy) nor did I want a "bathfitter" type plastic cover. The re-surfacing service also includes removing the old caulk around the tubs edge and re-doing that after applying the surface coating. I live in downtown Annapolis. Parking can be a nightmare. The technician had no problem and arrived on time. He was done in about 3 hours. The smell from the coating smells like glue and they bring ventilation to help blow the air out a bathroom window (if available) but to be honest, the smell didn't really bother me. And it was gone a few hours after he left. The dry/cure time suggested is 48 hours but I could probably use it tonight without issue if I really needed to. Why chance it? You pay money for the service, give it the time it deserves. They also give you instructions on how to care for the surface (no abrasives like Comet). They recommend a variety of non-abrasive cleaners you can get from any grocery store and tell you how to use them. The surface should have no problem lasting 15 years and comes with a 5-year warranty. The results: AMAZING. Looks like a brand new bath tub. I can't believe the transformation in just a few hours. I also had a few dings in the tub prior to the resurfacing but the service included filling in all "divets" and sanding them smooth prior to applying the new coating. I highly recommend. Price your options and choose accordingly. read more

PLEASE stay away. I'm not sure how they got the two good review below. Part of me thinks that it may be family members of people who work for the company...Literally one of the worst customer service experiences that I have EVER had. First visit- they promise to be at my place between 9 and 9:30, but he shows up after 10. I understand that I live in Arlington, but they should account for that when they plan their drive. He goes in to check on my tub, but immediately tells me that he can't do the work because my faucet has a slow leak. I felt like that was something they should have asked me about before they even showed up because that's not something I knew. Complete waste of time, but stuff happens so at this point I'm still optimistic. Second visit- late AGAIN. They show up and get the work underway. I'm finally feeling good about getting the old tub fixed. Then, they come down to tell me they're done, BUT when they tore off the tape, they tore the paint off of the wall as well. Woot woot! I go to check out my master bedroom, and in addition to the paint being missing, the stuff that they sprayed on the tub had gotten everywhere. They were suppose to cover all surfaces so avoid the coating sticking to everything, but they didn't. The coating was on the floor, counter, and even my washer and dryer. I tried to scrub it off, but since it's a coating, it won't come off...Third visit- I made an appointment to have them come paint my walls and remove the accidental coating of my bathroom. I take off work so that I can be available at home. Literally 4 minutes before they're suppose to arrive, I get a text message saying the guy that was suppose to come didn't show up for work...I ask can they send someone else. They say they're going to try to get someone else to come, and they'll call me back. I never received a call. Then, the next week rolls around. A lady from the company calls me with an attitude asking me when I'd want them to come. I tell her I'm unable to take any more work from home days, and I'd prefer to not take any more vacation days. I ask if a weekend would still be an option since another young lady had offered me a Saturday. She scoffs and tells me, "We are definitely NOT working on a Saturday just to come paint your walls". I tell her I completely understand not wanting to work a weekend, but I was thinking that it may be a possibility since it was their mistake that the paint was ripped off and my bathroom was coated. I'm not sure what was up this lady's butt, but then she proceeds to make it seem like it's my fault that they did such a horrible job. Speaking to me in an incredibly loud voice, borderline yelling. Getting smart, and everything. Just so awful. I've never felt so disrespected by a company. To top it off, the workers apparently forgot to tell me that I can only clean my tub with certain cleaners. I've been cleaning it with the wrong one and could have ruined the job...Yay! read more

I wish I could give zero stars - because they did zero work. If you live in DC, beware - they are not used to dealing with on street parking. Day one of scheduling - technicians shows up on time but leaves because there is no parking and it is a walkup. Day two of rescheduling after we discuss the parking issues and the walkup issue - and I agree to pay for any parking ticket - technician drives away again because there isn't a spot in front of my building. Additionally, no one thought to call me to tell me this - so my husband and I both had adjusted our work schedules so we could both get there and look after our toddler. Perhaps if you live in the suburbs they do ok tub work, but if you live in DC, I would go with someone else. Not happy - as now listing my condo will be delayed, as well. I have no idea what the deal was for the previous 2 bad reviews, but can't recommend Miracle Method highly enough. When the caulking separated my tub liner from the wall letting water seep between the tub liner and original porcelain tub, I got estimates from four contractors in the the thousands of dollars about having to replace the tub and tiles. A call to Miracle Method (Lisa in customer service was great) got a technician out quickly and they did the repair for a fraction of the cost. MaryAnn who owns the company, also was great in replying quickly. Would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

I was just referring a neighbor to Miracle Method so wanted to check Yelp (my go-to source when considering a local purchase). I was really surprised by the bad reviews too since I used Miracle Method a few years ago to redo my tub and loved the outcome. Looked brand new!!! Absolutely no problems with the person who did the job. The smell was awful, but they had warned me about that. The tub still looks great, and I will use them again when the product wears off. I called Miracle Method to give me an estimate to refinish the shower and renovate my basement bathroom in my very old house in DC. I spoke to a very nice rep from VA, who forwarded me to a Miracle Method location that serviced my area. I set up a an appt. to get an estimate with the main contact for that area. She came out, looked at my space and said that she couldn't really give me an accurate estimate because she needed her contractor who was more experienced, to come an take a look instead. I wasn't pleased that she wasted my time being that I took off time from work that morning to meet with her, only to have to meet with someone else. This time we met on a weekend. I explained to him what I needed and asked for options. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He gave me the impression that I would be taken care of. Well I contacted the original main contact via text to ask if she had any pics I could see of their work I never received a response. I told her that I wanted this job completed asap or at least before Christmas. Well a week and 1/2 later I called her and she said that she hadn't even met with the contractor to review his notes and discuss my estimate. I was surprised and I didn't understand what was the hold up. She said that she wasn't sure if she could do it and that the shower alone cost $1,000 to resurface. I said, I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Give me the estimate that I asked for and let me decide if I'm willing to pay for it. She said that she would have it for me by the end of the week and I have never heard from her since. I guess I wasn't worthy enough to receive even an estimate. Well since that time, my bathroom/laundry room has been completely renovated and it is absolutely perfect!! It is exactly what I wanted and more. The job cost more than what I originally had in my mind to spend on the bathroom, but not only was the bathroom renovated the entire laundry room was renovated along with it and the price was reasonable. The contractor gave me some great ideas on how to rework the space and it was worth every penny. I wish there were an option for zero stars. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was hoping to get a tub insert drained and resealed - Miracle Method told me several times on the phone "no problem, we do this all the time - super easy." I scheduled an appointment, which they subsequently rescheduled (requiring me to change my work schedule) Finally, they showed up. First, the man appeared to know very little about tubs - I had already had two plumbers in, and he said several things that contradicted them (and common sense). However, after I explained to him why he couldn't be right, he finally came up with an explanation that made sense. However, he said he couldn't fix our tub because he hadn't brought the right tools. He said he would go back to the office, get the right tools, and perhaps be back in an hour - but if it was going to take longer, he would call. 6 hours later (still waiting), I called the office. Apparently, he had no intention of ever coming back, because Miracle Method decided they couldn't do the job. When I finally got this information, I (reasonably) complained that I had been waiting for six hours and that someone should have told me that they weren't coming back and couldn't do the job. The woman on the phone screamed (and you can't make this up) "LADY, I'VE HAD ONE 15 MINUTE BREAK TODAY. GO CALL COLORADO." I don't know if she was referencing the shootings in Aurora, Colorado (which just happened last week), or what, but I didn't have a chance to ask what she meant, as she just hung up. Needless to say, I'm not bothering to call back. read more
