I had the pleasure of hosting a large Austin singles mixer on Christmas at this venue. The owner was extremely professional, kind, and understanding when it came to planning the mixer. I work and defeating long hours, so I am not always the best at communicating plans or changes. However, the owner was patient, understanding, and helped me masterfully plan this large event. The staff was also extremely professional. They prepped in advance for the mixer and had a reserved table ready. They were quick and diligent in catering to over 100 guests and went above and beyond in welcoming everyone who attended on Christmas. Words cannot describe how much I highly I recommend The Eleanor and Miracle on 5th Street for events and as a bar. One more thing I would like to highlight is the diversity of the staff, which I truly appreciate. As a Black woman, diversity is extremely important to me, and there are some downtown bars that lack it. However, this bar goes above and beyond. I saw people who look like me, women, and even LGBTQIA+ staff members. The team is not only diverse and welcoming, but it is clear that they love where they work. Finally checked this place out with a friend and thought it was overall a solid experience. Very expensive, but solid. The entry fee was about $12 and the drink I got was $30. I couldn't really justify getting a second drink at that price, but the one I did get was actually noticeably great -- really a very well-crafted drink, that had me looking up the ingredients later in the night curious on how they made it. I went on a Sunday night and it was slow but lively. I don't think I'd go at a peak time with the extremely long lines that form, but it made a cozy date spot. read more

Came in Christmas Eve since I figured it'd be a good place to come socialize. Unfortunately the vibe was more so of grandmas house versus an actual holiday bar. You need a ticket to get in (between $11-$37) and it definitely looks like Santa's elves threw up tinsel and wrapping paper everywhere. Cute little Photo Booth downstairs. The whole space is meant to accommodate 4-8 people parties which made someone like me who came in by themselves stand out since I was the only one at a table meant for at least four people. I wish there was bar seating or at least more of a crowd so the single people wouldn't stand out like sore thumbs in rooms full of groups and couples. The drinks are between $13-$30 which is a little ridiculous for a single shot in a cup you can't even keep. I believe it's free entry before 5pm. At least that's the case when we went on a Tuesday. The whole place is very well decorated with all kinds of Christmas stuff. It's super instagramable, glamourous, sparkly and delightful. The drink menu is also Christmas themed. Some come in fun Christmas tiki mugs, some are in glasses. The fun mugs are for sale also if you wanna bring one home. It wasn't super crowded when we were there. Ordering drinks seems to be somewhat easy. There are some places in the back and upstairs where you could walk around, explore and take photos. There's also a Photo Booth. Overall fantastic experience! Great for friends gathering and birthday parties. ** One feedback is about the staff who works at the bar. I think they maybe seasonal workers? Some of them don't know how to mix cocktails. What an amazing experience. As soon as you walk into this place, you are transformed into a winter wonderland. The space is huge and has multiple rooms and levels. I loved the wall to wall decor in the establishment. You can see the level of work and details they put into it. The cocktails are amazing! Each year I visit Miracle on 5th, I find myself enjoying it less. While the decor and overall vibes are incredible, it's hard to fully enjoy the experience with the extremely overpriced cocktails and large crowds. The cocktails are decent but don't appear to change much from year to year, yet the prices increase significantly. This time, I don't think there were any options under $20! This would be understandable if it were a craft cocktail bar, but it's a chain that serves pre-mixed drinks. We visited at 3 PM to avoid the crowds, which thankfully worked out. It's a super fun place for taking pictures but not recommended for the drinks! Think of it more as a glorified selfie station. read more

This is a review for the Christmas pop up bar. Came here on a Thursday after seeing a line and some fun decor. Joined the line and waited for about 10 minutes, realized I needed a ticket to enter. I regretfully paid $10 bucks and a $3 service charge to enter. It's certainly well decorated and entertaining to look around and explore. The cocktails are correspondingly Christmas inspired, but man are they expensive. Everything was $20 to $25, no names on the liquor so it's hard to believe they're using mid/high shelf alcohol here in overly sweet drinks. I got the stocking stuffer which was like an iced hot chocolate with whiskey. The cocktail was already batch made and just shaken then poured into a unicorn mug. It tastes exactly how you'd think, an iced hot chocolate would, no real taste of alcohol in there and very sweet. Still delicious, but not worth $25. It was crammed with people, very hot towards the back and a little smelly/musty to boot. The upstairs was even hotter with a bar I wish I knew existed as it had no line like the front did. It's hard to justify waiting in line, and having to pay that much. After tax and tip that drink was over $30, bringing the whole thing to almost $45. That's a lot to be in a bar for an hour and have one drink. The whole place is certainly fun, but I think there are better Christmas bars with better quality drinks. read more

Me and some girlfriends came for some Christmas vibes!! The good: the decor was amazing and I loved how there's actually space to move around comfortably!! The cons: the entree is $15, all the cocktails are $20 or $25, there was a line to get in, and a line to go upstairs, so we skipped it. I wish for the amount you pay, you'd leave with some type of souvenir. We heard this was the best Christmas bar pop up in Austin. We stopped in during happy hour (between 2-5 pm) when you don't have to pay the $15-35 cover charge. The decorations were amazing. Since it wasn't very crowded, there were plenty of photo spot opportunities. We tried 4 of the Christmas cocktails - the Run Run Reindeer and the Christmaspolitan were both delicious. The Koala La La was good. The Yippie Kay Ya...was too strong and didn't have any flavor except rum. Cocktails range from $20-25, and come in cute glass and mug ware. They have the glasses and mugs for sale separately. They do check bags on the way out to confirm you don't help yourself to any glasses or mugs for free. I feel like Miracle on 5th has been the ultimate Christmas pop-up bar destination for those seeking to get into the season. Miracle on 5th was my first Christmas pop-up bar experience, and it hasn't been the same since. Drinks are ridiculously overpriced (~$20), but what bar hasn't become pricey? Depending on what drink you order from the menu, it'll be served in a special cup. Unfortunately, I stick with a basic off the menu spiked hot chocolate, so no bells, whistles, or a dinosaur with a santa hat for me. The decoration stays pretty consistent throughout the years, but this year, they added a gallery of whimsical, skeptical &/or crying children with Santa near the bathrooms, which was *chefs kiss*. You can even submit in your own and request a copy of any of the photos you like. There are 2 bars, the main bar upon entry and one at the "Ski Lodge" serving more limited options. Seating is limited for both sections and better suited for groups of 4 or less. Bartenders: this is another Christmas bar where the elves are naughty! Christmas bartenders serve the jolliest people who pay a premium for an ounce of joy, and they act like it's the worst thing in the world. I LOVE Christmas and when I say this bar DELIVERED in ambiance and tasty cocktails, it delivered. While the wait at the bar takes a while (most drinks on the menu have 5+ ingredients so they're not quickly made), you have more than enough decor to entertain you. It feels like you walked into a bar at the North Pole. Seriously. Drinks. It's a bar, right? They're REALLY yummy. That being said... you are paying a premium for them. Do I think the quality of the drinks + the ambiance is worth it? Absolutely! Is it somewhere I would be able to go multiple times? No! I first tried the Stocking Stuffer. The best way I can describe this drink is that it tasted like an iced hot chocolate with a dash of cinnamon and some underlying depth. SUPER flavorful. The other drink I tried was the Crooked Antler. It was surprisingly tropical and smelled amazing. I loved it, too. Upon entering, be prepared to be warned that they will be searching your purse/bag when you leave. At nights you will see a line waiting to enter Miracle on 5th Street, with this I decided to bring my wife here during the day. It was a great option to easily enter Santa's man cave. There was already others here and quickly amazed by the decorating skills from the elves. There was a special holiday drink and food menu. All drinks were served in special holiday drinkware, and bags will be searched for looters of these decorative pieces. If you like them then you can purchase the holiday drinkware from a presentable display at front. I ordered some cookies and a special holiday drink, and walked to the back of this place where the decorations continued finding a bar table to sit at. I was provided a number for my order and thought was just getting a packaged cookie, but they were making them fresh for me. When the cookies arrived the were warm and very delicious. My special holiday cocktail drink was also perfect and tasted great. The staff is extremely friendly and if the bar at front is too busy then head to the back where will see another one. One extraordinary menu order I noticed was a ski with different shots of alcohol mounted on it. You definitely need to sit at one of the picnic tables to fit that thing and a few people to enjoy it. The experience even extends into the restrooms where it's decorated too with holiday music playing. You can tell how much money they have to put into the decor, ingredients, staff, and all the details to make it a magical place. I personally don't visit on the weekends and I recommend going at an off hour if you don't want to wait outside in line. I went on a Monday around 4pm and had no issue getting in. A few of their signature drinks are pre-batched so if there is an ingredient you might be allergic to, make sure to ask them if they can do anything about it. No need to fret though as they have a full cocktail bar. It's always fun to try a naughty or nice shot. I prefer naughty tbh. Here's a few things to know if you're a first timer like myself: *If you'd like to avoid a wait in the cold, lines for booze, and a ticket fee, come during off hours on weekdays before 6! We didn't pay a cent to get in, and our wait to enter the bar was about 2 minutes. *There are a few rooms, and a good amount to explore if you're visiting from a smaller city (a large downstairs area, a "ski lodge themed" shot bar area, a hallway featuring horrified children's santa photos, and an upstairs bar), so I'd recommend planning to spend some time *If you want a photo opp on Santa's chair, this is your place (if you arrive before the crowds) *Apparently kiddos are allowed before 7pm (with their parent or legal guardian) *As our party discovered, many of the drinks are prebatched, so if you have allergies, be aware that substitutions may be difficult. *You can peep the menu beforehand on their website. You can also find the WiFi password on their website :) *Apparently they've had concerns with folks stealing their themed glass wear, so...don't try. They check bags on your way out! If you've got to have it, glasses are available for purchase at the to-go booth on your way out. We arrived during their happy hour which equals no cover charge. To be perfectly honest I would not pay the $25 per ticket after 5PM for this venue. However, this Christmas-themed bar is great for taking photos and enjoying a Xmas cocktail or 2. We arrived around 4PM and walked right in. The main bar was very crowded but we discovered the smaller bar in the back room area with no line and a surprisingly strong pour. Cool experience, but wouldn't do it again. The entry fee is pretty steep for what it is. We came around 6 pm in a Friday and were able to get in right away. Most of the drinks we tried were pretty good but pricy. Highly recommend doing a ski shot with your friends. Went on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm and had to wait almost an hour to get in. Yes, I would wait in the line again to get in next year. It's one of the those things that fun to do once a year. I came with a larger party if around 8. Even though the place was packed, we were able to find seating. The drinks were all fun, festive, and came in cute little cups. The atmosphere is great because everyone definitely was showing their Christmas spirit with the outfits and generally very happy. The drinks are quick to order and come out but are pricier. A very nice holiday-themed pop-up in downtown Austin. Purchased general admission ticket for $25 online. Some folks paid $15 at the door (make that make sense SMH). Stood in line outside for about 10 minutes waiting for others to come out first. Glad it was not extremely cold outside. Walk inside and was greeted with a fun, festive atmosphere. A visual cornucopia of Christmas! Christmas trees, Santa, lights! Stopped at the first bar upon entering and ordered an Elfing Around #2 cocktail. Very delicious! Bartender was rather slow but made a great beverage. Cocktails start at $18.99. There is food on the menu like grilled cheese sandwich, etc. Did not order food. Keep walking through the place and walk upstairs to another area. Downstairs was mostly standing only. Upstairs had more seating and another bar. More Christmas! I enjoyed the experience. 1st time checking out Miracle on 5th Street on Thursday 12/23/2021, one day before Christmas Eve & there was no line to get in! Yay us! ;) Not sure if it was because we got there early, about 5:30pm or if it just was our lucky day but not having to wait in a long line for sure was appreciated, especially after reading some of the previous feedback given by others. Looking at online photos beforehand, I was expecting for the inside to be much bigger and open but it wasn't. While it was 2 levels, the upstairs wasn't very big at all & I did feel hesitant to really hang out upstairs since there were others seated at tables all around us & yes, I want to enjoy myself but be as safe as possible considering, we still are in a pandemic so needless to say, we peeped the upstairs for a short while only. There was a bar upstairs. There were some cool Christmas decorations displayed..my favorite being The Leg Lamp from The Christmas Story movie :)) & the hallway near the restrooms, along w/ the stairs going upstairs was decorated with Christmas lights wall to wall! I do have to give kudos to the staff because they did have a box of red disposable masks located at the front door for anyone who needed/wanted one. Overrated and overhyped, my friends and in a group of 3 waited 1 hour to get our drinks and stand around a crowded Christmas themed pop up bar. Don't mind me being a grinch for a minute- the drinks were really good, but for no seating and only standing room with barely any space to set your drinks down on a Monday night... is it really worth it? I got the Yippie Ki Yay Mother Fker and my friend got the Santarex- the mugs are super cute and festive, and I liked the subtle taste of ube in the Yippie drink. Very creative. The lines to order are really long, and my friend was standing there for a full 45 min but the bartender kept on skipping him/choosing other people. Lines are disorganized, just a huge blob of people. They were playing Christmas music all night and the decorations were amazing, disco lights were flashing, but after how slow the service was we were not in the best mood anyways. The venue is at the Roosevelt room, which I recommend going to on a regular non-Christmas pop up day for their upscale vibe and creative drinks. Parking is hard since you're in downtown Austin. If you are looking for the perfect winter wonderland Christmas bar in Austin, this is your place! From the moment you walk into Miracle on 5th street, you are transported to Santa's workshop with the most amazing drinks, not to mention served in the cutest cups! I will mention, we came on a Tuesday evening around 7:15 and the line was LONG. I believe we waited a good 45 minutes to get through the doors ( there was a bouncer counting those exiting and coming in). I will say you can pay for a fast pass, and we probably would have however after 20 minutes we realized it was worth to just wait. The decor in the bar was 10/10. The ceiling was covered in presents. There were plenty of photo ops with Santa, Christmas trees, and Santa's chair. If you continue walking, the back room is a "ski lodge" themed room with Christmas movies playing. They even have a tiny nook that serves shots, and you can even do a shot ski! Moving on to the drinks- absolutely amazing and even tasted festive! Our favorite of the night was the Christmapolitin. We also loved the eggnog and the drink that came in the T-Rex cup. All of the drinks were phenomenal but just be ready to pay quite a bit for them! I came here on Thanksgiving day when the bar was not as packed as it normally is, so I probably had a different experience than many of the other reviewers. First of all, if you're a big Christmas fan like me there's probably no better place to go than Miracle on 5th Street. This place is TOTALLY decked out and they really committed to the theme! Drinks are very pricey but it is expected with a themed bar like this. When we walked in, we were greeted by the staff and a large bowl of candy canes. They play all the great Christmas hits and had Christmas movies playing on the TVs. I also loved how they had so many different sections of the bar (they have an upstairs area too!) But I can imagine how packed this place must get when it's busier as the space is pretty confined. They want you to buy a ticket but purposefully overbook the venue- then when you are waiting in the long line (that they artificially created), a bouncer will proposition you to pay an additional large fee to *skip* the line. It's unbelievably annoying and scummy. And then the owner comes here and is hostile to people who didn't have a good time. Don't go here. Lines are long. Management is awful. What the actual .....? My boyfriend went to get an espresso martini but was unable to because there is almond milk in the pre-mixed cocktail. Okay... but they have oat milk as well so I'm not sure why they are doing this since many ppl have severe nut allergies. Not hard to mix milk in at the end. Anyways, the real reason for the 2 stars is because one of the drink pourers (not a bartender if they aren't making these drinks fresh) hocked a loogie onto the floor while behind the bar. That is DISGUSTING & a massive health code violation. As if all of this is not bad enough... they are now charging for entry on any night (didn't last year) & are trying to scam by having a "convenient" QR code at the door for last min tickets that charge over $5/ticket more than you pay if you use Eventbrite (even while at the door). It's odd. Christmas bar you think for a lot of people best time of year. Jolly and high spirits. Except the bartenders are rude. For no reason other than they're just rude. We tipped good, over 20%. Ordered pretty standard. But both bartenders were just very unpleasant. They seemed like they didn't want to be there, and ordering a drink was a burden. If you are looking for a winter wonderland, then the decor of this bar is on another level! They had present boxes and Christmas lights adorning the ceilings and walls. The poles were transformed into candy canes and the lights into Santa hats! Each of the staff members were dressed in feisty, fun, and funny Christmas sweaters. They had an area designated as a "ski lodge" where you could take Shotskis with your friends or you could watch a Christmas movies like "Home Alone" with subtitles. The Classic Grilled Cheese was fine. It reminded me of an after-school programs meal you would serve to children. In terms of alcoholic drinks, the Christmas Carol Barrel was one of the worst drinks I have had! Served in a "Fa La La" cup, the herbal notes of the tequila with the hints of coffee and dairy did not mix well together. The Christmas Carol Barrel was hard to drink and made me gag.
