Well, Ashley is my third lawyer. The first two lawyers simply filed continuance after continuance, pushing it towards a trial. All three lawyers had access to the same set of evidence I provided, wrapped up in a pretty little Dropbox download link. I am pretty sure neither of them reviewed it. Ashley was recommended to me via my family law attorney, and I am so mad I didn't take their suggestion from the start. At the first meeting, she went over the incident in more detail than the previous two lawyers had. She proposed three different solutions and how she was going to get to them. However, after weeks of hearing nothing from the assigned lawyer, I called the office on 2/23/26 to request an update and to speak directly with my attorney. I was then informed that my original attorney no longer worked at the firm and that my case was "in the process of being reassigned." This was the first time I had been told this -- no prior communication was provided. I calmly asked whether there was an office manager or any available attorney I could speak with within the hour, simply to understand the status of my case. I never demanded that my case be settled within an hour, as was later alleged. When I returned to town on 3/1/26, I received a letter stating that the firm was "disengaging" from my case. I immediately called for clarification and was told by someone named Christy that I had demanded my case be settled within an hour the previous week -- which is completely false. That accusation is not only inaccurate but deeply concerning. As a client, I was seeking communication and clarity, not immediate settlement. Instead of transparency and professionalism, I was met with misinformation and sudden withdrawal from representation, leaving me with very little time to move forward with my accident claim. Clients deserve honest communication, timely updates, and accurate documentation of conversations. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. This completely unprofessional dude came highly recommended from an attorney I was already working with. So I felt comfortable calling them. As a licensed professional, this hearing and criminal charge was a big deal and could have had huge impacts on my life and career. I spoke to him on a Monday or a Tuesday and I had a hearing scheduled for the following Monday. He wanted the entire fee upfront. I simply didn't have all of it. I told him I could give him a substantial down payment and could pay him the entire fee within a couple weeks. He explained how he had such respect for my profession as he had worked in my field in the past. He assured me he was with me and was going to help me. He told me he would call my by the end of the week with a payment arrangement he would accept. So I relaxed. I didn't call anyone else. By Friday I hadn't heard from him. I was very anxious but I just trusted he would keep his word. After all, he was a recommendation from another attorney with whom I liked and had experience with. On Saturday, I tried to call his office because I had received no communication from his office whatsoever. No calls. No emails. Nothing. So I was able to find another attorney on a weekend who took my case and she was amazing. This guy began calling me Monday morning at the same time the hearing was taking place. He did not do what he said. He lied to me. He ignored my situation. His communication is so unprofessional that it is non-existent. He negotiated and did everything he could and got my fiance the best outcome. He was facing jail time due to his prior. He was able to get one case down to a wet and wreckless, 5 days community service with half time and the other case 10 days community service, with 3 months dui class. Regular court fees. All in all I'm 100% positive we got the best outcome. He knows his stuff and will fight to get the best outcome. He will go over the D.A to speak to the supervising D.A if need be.
