Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of attending a Sweet 16 party at this venue, and it left us with a mix of impressions, from the grandeur of the ballroom to some notable service quirks. The grand ballroom made an impressive first impression, with its tasteful lighting and well-decorated chairs and tables. However, it was noted that the absence of an elevated stage was a missed opportunity, even a modest one-foot platform could have enhanced the visual appeal of the hall. The culinary journey began with a delightful array of appetizers. The spinach fritters, accompanied by yogurt, chutney topping, and a spicy powder, stood out as a true culinary gem. The addition of this spice powder accentuated the flavors and made it a memorable dish. My personal favorite, Vada Pav, was also on the menu, and I couldn't resist enhancing its taste with a sprinkle of the spicy powder. The bar and appetizer service took place outside the hall, and here we encountered a few service hiccups. The bartender was notably absent, which led to a bit of confusion among the guests. However, a friendly waiter came to our rescue and promptly served our drinks when requested. The situation at the bar took an unexpected turn when another bartender, who seemed to be in a pleasant mood at first, began using profanity in a soft tone when asked why he wasn't present. His exact words "Get the fuck out of here" to his own co-worker - ten times in front of all the guests who are waiting in line at the Bar and in front of the guests who are getting their appetizers. This unexpected exchange, while bizarre, didn't overshadow the overall experience but left us a bit bewildered. Moving on to the main course, it was exactly as expected in a Mughal restaurant - rich and creamy, fulfilling the culinary desires of guests. The dessert spread was a highlight of the evening. The Moong Dal Halwa was a standout, leaving a lasting impression with its superb taste. The quality of the Kulfi was exceptional, rounding out the meal on a sweet note. The ambiance was elevated by a dance floor with flashing colorful lights, adding a lively touch to the event. The combination of good music, delectable food, and a pleasing atmosphere contributed to an enjoyable evening. In conclusion, the Sweet 16 party at this venue offered a blend of grandeur, delicious food, and vibrant ambiance. While the service quirks at the bar were unusual, they didn't overshadow the overall positive experience. The standout appetizers, rich main course, and delectable desserts ensured a satisfying culinary journey. I highly suggest you to think of alternate places. We had a horrible experience with this location/team for our recent event of close to 200 guests. Their staff is unprofessional, rude and outright disrespectful. There is no coordination among them and you will be left calling them 6-7 times during the event. We had guests who left without eating because they didn't put the lunch out until 1:30 PM for a event that was suppose to end at 2:00 PM. I will not point to any certain individuals but will say the whole experience was regrettable. We selected this event and paid premium because we wanted to have a pleasant experience and a stress-free event, but it was opposite of that. For those who already have signed the contract or are thinking signing one. RE READ everything and get all clarification in writing because the "ok, no problem, don't worry and we will take care of it" will be of no use when things go wrong during the event. read more

Went here for New Years Eve 2018 party and liked it very much. The arrangements were excellent and the DJ was pretty good. The quality and choice of food offered was great. Wait staff were very attentive and did an excellent job. Only complaint I have is the bar did not have a wide variety of drinks (cocktails). What they had was decent and I was fine with it. read more

We had our daughter's sweet sixteen celebration at Mirage couple of weeks back. We had such a great experience with Mr Shekar. He was attentive, easy to work with and very professional and helpful.. He provided anything and everything we needed. Mr. Shekar was very patient with all our questions during the planning. We had our engagement party at Mirage and they did exceptionally well. Shekar is an excellent manager who takes care of all the details, helps you design the perfect menu for your event, and makes sure everything goes according to plan on the day of your event. We had looked at a number of indian catering venues in the tri-state area. If you're looking around, you may notice their prices are slightly higher but trust me when I tell you it's surely well worth it. The food. Was. Excellent. Having been to what feels like a million indian weddings/engagements I can say their service and food is exceptional. One of my friends said "Man, I never get seconds at these things, the food was great!" If your parents and in laws are worried about what venue you pick, go with Mirage. Every uncle and Aunty will go home happy. The live stations for appetizers were well staffed and kept everyone's plates full. The bartenders worked extra hard for our crowd and the waitstaff was on point, providing baskets of fresh naan for every table. Shekar also has a number of vendors to recommend for stage decor which was helpful to us. Bottom line, they're doing something right and your event is in good hands. read more

Attended a event on Sunday the 25th of July, I caught covid. I called the establishment and the management team didn't care much.

We had a family event in the banquet hall and what a pleasure working with Subhash and team. They know how to treat their customers, they are on top of every single detail and will make sure your guests are treated well. This place is clean, staff is smiling, and take their job seriously! Attended a wedding reception here and really Mirage is deserving of a 3.5 star rating. If I'm lucky enough to be invited to another event here to assess its consistency then a 4th star is possible. Food was good, live stations in the lobby before the doors opened to the main hall. Easy to park on a wet Sunday evening. The Mirage sign was switched off either to save on electricity or they simply forgot so a lot of people had difficulty finding it. By chance the next day I found myself in Edison walking past and it was interesting to see through the window how the hall had been emptied completely so quickly and that it can be partitioned off for smaller events. read more

I had my wedding reception on June 30th of this year. From start to finish, Mr. Shekar and company were always there for us and helped with everything. My brother had his wedding reception here recently. The 5 stars are mostly for the service - Mr. Shekar, Jay and co. were incredibly professional, thorough and accommodating. And the food from Mughal next door was simply outstanding! The location is a little off-putting, in the middle of a big shopping plaza - and right next to a movie theater, so parking was a problem - but the interior of the banquet hall was very nice. We hosted a 2.5 day conference here, and everything was fantastic. Mr. Shekar was a pleasure to work with; very kind & easily accessible. Parking was plentiful, and immediately in front of the entrance. All of our guests loved the venue; it is nice & elegant inside, and is large enough to host a large gathering. We had our engagement party at Mirage in July 2015 and it was great!! We worked closely with Shekar to iron out so many details, the menu, etc and he was just such a pleasure to work with. He made the process as smooth as possible and was so accommodating even with so many specific requests and high expectations!! Similar to the review before me, we had looked at many Indian banquet halls prior to Mirage and the quality of the service, food, hall, etc is clearly on a different level and well worth the slight higher price! It's two months later and hundreds of weddings have gone by but still people tell us how much they enjoyed the party, loved the food and were impressed with the venue! Couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our engagement. Highly recommended for formal events! read more

We hosted a baby welcome party at Mirage in December 2018 for about 60 guests and we were delighted with every aspect of the event. Shekar is the most responsive, professional and gracious manager to work with. He accommodated all our needs, came up with excellent suggestions and responded promptly to all our questions. Our venue host, Subhash kept an eye on everything at the party and even entertained our guests. Shekar and Subhash are both delightful gentlemen and a pleasure to work with! Our guests were delighted with the food, decorations and service. Other Indian banquet places may be less expensive but they lack the warm ambience and a tastefully designed interior that Mirage offers. read more

Attended new year party on Dec 31 2016. Very bad experience - they had oversold tickets. There was hardly any place to walk as it was overcrowded. I am sure they must have violated fire department norms. Very bad arrangement, bad food, had to struggle to get plates, silverware etc. Bar attendants were totally ignorant. One bar attendant did not know difference between Bacardi and Vodka. To top it all - one particular security guard was extremely rough and arrogant. He had manhandled me for no reason - I could smell alcohol in his breath. When I protested, his colleague or senior started saying that they are trying to help us - what help? they had to just check the hand band and let people enter the banquet. Absolutely cheap management who sold tickets at exorbitant prices. Will never visit this place again and also request other people in the community not to let this kind of management get away - they are just taking advantage of the monopoly. read more

We had our daughter's Mehndi event at Mirage in early May 2018. It was such a pleasure working with Mr. Shekar, the event manager, and his team. From the time that we went for our initial tour of the venue to the end of our event we received exceptional service, care and support from Mr. Shekar. He was on top of everything, responding to our phone calls and emails promptly, making helpful suggestions and going out of his way to accommodate us. Mirage food was amazing and our guests are still raving about it. Mirage team actually went above and beyond to cater for our specific menu selections and provided us with multiple food tastings as well as prepared dishes for our event that are not even on their regular event menu. Their Banquet Hall is elegant, large and roomy and accommodated our 300 plus guests easily. Their staff was very professional. The live stations for appetizers were great and manned very well keeping our guests happy with their plates full. During dinner food was replenished quickly and continuously. Wait staff were very attentive and did a great job. Venue is located in central Jersey so it is easily accessible to all and parking is ample. All in all we had a great experience and we are highly recommending this venue to our family and friends for their next event. read more

Let me tell you, living in AZ and working with the Director of Events (Subhash) & General Manager this was an amazing experience. Subhash, was so helpful and accommodating from day one to the day of the event. He returned calls, followed up emails this was truly a great service. We had our wedding & reception at Mirage Banquet Hall on December 15, 2012 and it was the most beautiful experience ever. Mr. Dhanashekar is the perfect manager and organizer. His thoughtful and insightful advice on every tiny detail made for a wonderful event. He put our minds to ease throughout the entire process of planning and execution of our wedding. Not only did he work with us on services that Mirage provided, but extended his expertise on other services such as decorators/ photographers/bakeries, etc. The food prepared by Moghul was absolutely delicious and all of our guests raved about the outstanding variety, quality and taste. The service was impeccable starting from the butler service to Mr. Shekar himself. The hall was decorated so beautifully and all of our special needs were attended to.
