Delta Hotels Woodbridge is a good hotel and is the best around this area, but benefits from no solid competition. It's probably the largest hotel in the area and was hosting a film industry convention while I was there. I have stayed at this hotel a few times before and my rating improved slightly this time, especially given they gave me a courtesy upgrade owing to a shortage of King bed rooms which I reserved, but there are several issues that keep the rating nearly the same. 1. Reservations are still executed centrally via Marriott and the wait time could be a moment, but was easier to navigate through the prompts this time. Staff are friendly and efficient at the front desk when one checks in and out. 2. The hotel lacks amenities of a hotel this size. It does have a pool, but has no shop evident where one could buy a charger, toothbrush or aspirin if one forgot to bring the like. 3. The upgraded King Suite had no microwave or refrigerator. The dark and smooth tile on the bathroom floor can become dangerously slippery if the shower leaks water running across that floor and the towel laid down on the floor does not catch all the runoff. You may not see the water runoff on the dark tile and could lose your footing. Be careful. The toilet paper could benefit from better placement, making it less awkward to reach. You will hunt around for light switches on the walls and next to your bed the first time entering the dark room. The televisions and room a/c unit worked well, but the a/c heating unit was a bit noisy. 4. At well over two hundred dollars a night for a King room, there is no breakfast voucher for the cafe on the ground level to the right of the entrance. The cafe has a very basic menu and they serve your order as if it's to go in a bag, with boxes inside. If you specify that you are eating in your room, that would be fine. However, it's wasteful of paper and cardboard when a plate would suffice and be easier from which to eat. As a captive audience, it's the only thing immediately within reach. A few scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, twin pancakes and small coffee is nineteen bucks. Not bad, but could and would be better if competitive options were immediately available. This hotel benefits from a lack of real competition in the immediate area. The price points are a bit high for what you get and that is a consequence of a lack of real competition in the area, inflation notwithstanding. The friendly and respectful staff deserve your attention. The people who work here from the front desk to housekeeping have been great each time. 3.2 stars read more

An incredibly average hotel that kept consistently losing points in my head over the course of our stay. At surface level, it's fine. The lobby is spacious, the staff is nice-ish, & the rooms are good-ish. But then you start to notice the details ... like: - The painters tape on the peeling ceiling. - The pillows with the consistency of almost-dry cement. - The dangerously large potholes in the parking lot. - The large security deposit required that didn't correlate with the quality of the hotel. & finally, the biggest offense of all: - The super pungent, overwhelming, inexplicable smell of sewage emanating from all drains in the bathroom. Most other lodging options in the area are either really expensive or really dodgy. This hotel is one of the only options that's sorta somewhere in the middle. At first it appears that this is a very nice hotel and should be a great stay. Very large 2 room suite with environmental controls in each room. Large bed, comfortable enough sofa and chair in living room. But there are some mostly minor issues that prevent this from being a 5 star hotel. First, the bathroom layout leaves a bit to be desired. Cheapo TP holder on the wall behind you makes it difficult to reach and the TP constantly falling off the holder. It should be around the corner where it can be reached more easily. And there is no convenient place to put your towels so you can reach them from the shower. The bedroom has lights, but you can't turn them on from the doorway. Thus, when it is after dark you have to fumble your way through strange surroundings in the dark to turn a light on. The refrigerator didn't work properly - being slightly below room temp at the highest setting. There was no microwave - what hotel doesn't have a microwave in the room these days? And my personal favorite - the coffee bar. It is in the living room as far away from a source of water as possible. Nicely arranged with coffee/tea etc., the ice bucket, cups, and coffee maker with plug fed through the bottom of the bar and into....nothing. There is no place to plug it into. The staff we dealt with were all friendly and efficient. The location isn't the nest and the roads getting in and out can be confusing, and the parking lot is a wreck with giant craters in the pavement in spots. Have stayed here both in the renaissance days and more recently as a delta. A solid option in a great location near both the parkway and turnpike. Rooms definitely feel a tad on the dated side even with the advertised renovation date of 2019 , but overall was clean and modern with friendly service. Realistically there are not many better options at this price level which are right off the highway , and Marriott Bonvoy members can get generous breakfast benefits and room upgrades which more than justify the small additional premium over your typical roadside motel. A girlfriend and I wanted to do a "Staycation" so we picked a town that was perfectly halfway between our houses. We checked in just a tniy bit early and were able to go to our room right away, which was nice. There is a free parking lot right next to the hotel, and several shops and restaurants within walking distance (we ended up doing dinner at Kona) as well as a restaurant inside the hotel. The room was clean - pillows were super squishy which I love (I don't care for those over-foamed pillows that don't give when you lay on them). Around 8pm, a terrible children's trap/rap karaoke started... we couldnt figure out if it was above or below us but it was.... awful. At 830 with no signs of slowing, we ended up calling the front desk to request something be done. They offered to move us, which was kind but inconvenient. We had to pack all our things, go down to their desk and get the new room keys, and then return/move to the new room. The new room was identical to ours (the guy said it was an upgrade?) but it was quiet. We slept well - I left before it was too light outside so I am unsure if the curtains really block the sunlight, etc. Overall - a decent, clean stay. read more

If I could give this negative stars for the HORRIFIC FRONT DESK night staff I would. My husband passed away recently and I booked two rooms for, myself and two children at the Delta for funeral services held yesterday . Around 3 am today I went to get ice from machine and the key wouldn't open the door when I returns. When I went to the front desk the person working there became combative and extremely rude because I asked if the cards could be made quickly and was willing to take security w me to my room where my id and wallet were to verify identity. This was not the first time I've needed room keys and my children were upstairs alone. I asked for additional keys in case the one did not work. The front desk person refused to make me keys to my room became very snarky and continued to repeat I'm not making you any additional keys. His behavior was completely unnecessary and he should be fired for blatantly trying to abuse his limited authority and inconvenience guests who are staying in the hotel for funerals. His behavior was extremely tacky and crass and I expected a bit more from the hotel staff. This is not how you treat people who are already exhausted and mourning the loss of a loved one. Too add to the situation he seemed to be enjoying the whole scene he was making in the lobby by refusing to provide myself and children additional keys. This was all so unnecessary and unwarranted. *Disappointing Experience at Delta Hotels Woodbridge* I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Delta Hotels Woodbridge. Despite being a loyal customer (9 stays in 3 months), the front desk representative, Dennis, refused to check me in, offering only an expensive alternative: booking a room for $199(taxes and fees not included) at 5 AM with an 11 AM checkout. When I asked to see the hotel's check-in policy, Dennis claimed they didn't have one. What's worse, Dennis and his coworker laughed hysterically after typing something on the computer and glancing at me. I feel humiliated and disrespected. As an Asian and transgender individual, I wonder if discrimination played a role. The hotel's CCTV footage can confirm this incident. I was forced to book another hotel due to exhaustion. VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We came here to run away from the heat wave in NYC. The hotel has and indoor and outdoor pool. From the pictures everything looks nice. But in reality, it is far from good. The pools are beyond filthy, unsafe and unsanitary! Yesterday afternoon, somebody grabbed someone else's stuff, escalated that police department had to come, security and management couldn't handle it. This morning i warned many times to front desk about the condition of the pool, I didn't see anybody come over, get samples from the water! Lastly, while we were sitting in the lobby, i asked my son to pick up complimentary waters from the desk, there was none. He asked front desk, the receptionist told my son to pick up waters from the shop. He came over with 3 waters. Not even 2 mins, the other receptionist approached at me, and said my son stole water from fridge, actually grabbed the water without any authorization, with so much anger and he has to charge them. I was in town recently visiting family and stayed here. The hotel itself I really was pleased with, the fact that Covid was hampering my stay experience is unfortunate. We arrived late one night and Jennifer was there at the front desk to greet us , a warm smile after a long day of travel was very welcoming and she was so friendly and informative that I felt at home. Our room was a great size, quiet and looked newly remodeled ( all except the shower and toilet) but the rest of the bathroom was spot on! We had a room a few floors up overlooking the pool which was well cared for I only wish we had the time to get in. The hotel is in a great location route 1 and Gill lane, plenty of local restaurants nearby. Now the only thing that was missing from my stay was being able to get a real coffee downstairs or have a restaurant on premises but COVID changed that along with daily room services. Yes you could still get service if you let them know a day in advance which I took advantage of once because of a week long stay, and getting fresh towels was not a problem. I took full advantage of the fitness center located by the pool, their were some machines that need some attention but was stocked with fresh towels and sanitizer. And when you need to work out or burn off some steam it does the job. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and will be staying again. I think after COVID and things are running at full speed it'll be even better. read more

I'm not sure how they are considered in the Marriott family. The experience is so subpar. 1. They overcharged my Visa by $1000 and the hotel never returned my calls. I called Marriott Titanium Elite for help and still waiting for my confirmed refund. 2. There was a hotel fire when I was there. Apparently the 2nd in a 2 week time period per the front desk. I reported the fire at 2am, security came and confirmed there was a fire outside my window, my room was full of smoke all night. No alarm, no repercussions, my apology, no credit. 3. The service at the "cafe" is abhorrent. The people working there are clearly the most miserable humans and I felt pity for them. No bueno visit. read more

So I was excited to stay here because the renovations seemed really nice online. As far as staff, cleanliness, and COVID safety precautions, I generally I have complaints. Nobody was overly friendly or rude besides our checkout. I do wish the front desk staff was more polite when we left, instead we got an awkward stare, no "enjoyed your stay?" "Have a nice day!" Nothing. (so umm yeah, not the greatest). But I was super disappointed in the quality of bedding in the room. I usually don't even leave hotel reviews but I just had to with this one because I could not believe the quality of the pillows/sheets. I'm a person that loves the Marriott franchise but this was easily the most uncomfortable rest I've had in a long time. I'm not sure when these pillows are fluffed/updated/thrown out but it was ridiculous. I felt like I was laying on the floor! What ever happened to the beautiful feather/down pillows Marriot offered it's patrons? You would think that such a successful company would treat their customers more delicately than this. I was looking for an affordable place to stay with some friends that wasn't too far from New York City, and the Delta Marriott Woodbridge was absolutely perfect! Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and we very much enjoyed our stay. Tasha helped us at the front desk several times throughout our time here, and she was absolutely wonderful. She helped us get some extra towels that we needed, provided affordable dinner recommendations in the area, and was very kind each time I dropped by to ask about something. I have stayed in this hotel several times because it was convenient to where I was going and it's by Marriot which is a brand I equate with good service and value. This hotel appears to be under new management over the last few years and it's ok but not what i have come to expect from the Marriot brand. The hotel is getting older. My reservation was for a king but they gave me two queens. The room was frigid when I got there. The window shade was broken. Check in was easy as was check out. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. DNU!!! The staff stole from me the Bride and my Wedding Planner I had a 2 day Indian American Wedding and the housekeeping staff stole from me, guests and my wedding planner. The night before my wedding the staff stole 3 florist buckets of long stem red roses and my multi colored rose center pieces that were a gift to me from my wedding planner. So I had a shortage in flow decor and yes all of my flowers were real. They also had a house keeper steal my cathedral Vail $2500 hand made from Spain. The chef served a complete different food menu. This place is obviously hurting from Covid. The restaurant is closed down, limited staff, no room service, no bar, and no breakfast. Front desk staff aren't very friendly as another reviewer mentioned. No "hello, welcome to the Marriot!" No "How was your stay? Come again!" But omg the human DNA found in the bathroom showers were DISGUSTING!! Also the walls were visibly dirty. I complained to the front desk and she offered to upgrade my room which was nice but she said she "hoped" this next room would be clean. HOPE?! Anyway the upgraded room was nice enough but still hair all over the tub and shower walls. Just gross. I could've just stayed in a cheap motel for this. The bedding was weird. After a long flight I checked in today and got to the room the tv didn't work. Opened the bed stains throughout the bedding. I went to front desk they said they would send a engineer to fix the tv and send a new bedding. Got new bedding and I was given queen bedding for a king bed. I went to talk to manager Aldo and was told they ran out of king bedding. So I have to pay to sleep with bedding that is either dirty or that doesn't fit? I don't think my reservation stated that I would get a king room with stained sheets or queen bedding from king bed. Rooms are not maintained. Please note this hotel has been renovated in the last couple months. I was here six months ago when it was still the Renaissance and agreed with many of the prior reviews but whoa have they changed things for the better. The renovations are top notch. There are three places to eat: Olio which is the lobby lounge area, the executive lounge for elite members, and City a Chinese restaurant. The rooms are very nice, the staff is friendly, the food in the executive lounge is really good, I got a suite upgrade, and most importantly I left my wedding ring in the room when I checked out and the house keepers found it and got it back to me! We stayed at this hotel to attend Christmas Con at the NJ expo center. We were changed from one of their other hotels last minute and didn't get a phone call to let us know that just an email that I am sure a lot of people miss. Starting off with our arrival, the hotel parking lot wasn't well lit or easy to find. Once inside, we were greeted and received our keys relatively quickly. The room was clean over all but we had to request additional towels as they only provided two and we were a group of three. I love that there were a ton of outlets to change devices including usb ones. The beds were soft and comfortable overall. The tv offered lots of channels and made logging into the WiFi easy. The checkout process was easy but the front desk could only email me the folio which did cause a delay. After this experience, I'd consider staying at another one of these hotels. read more

It's now August and I visited in June. It takes a lot for me to post a negative review but this place was so vile it's stuck in my mind. My experience started with the pot hole filed parking lot that had no lighting. It was pouring rain. It was so poorly lit that it was a challenge to find the entrance to the hotel. The lobby was filled with irate guests when I entered. There were several local events that weekend including softball tournaments that parents had travelled hours for and many local graduations. The hotel had overbooked and didn't have enough rooms to accommodate I had the hotel app and proceeded right to my room. It looked presentable enough but within seconds I started to have an allergy / asthma attack. I started looking for the source. I looked at the air conditioning unit , the blinds, the bed but was revolted when I entered the bathroom. The walk-in shower was covered in mold and rust and some unidentifiable goo. I gathered my belongings and went to the front desk. The other irate customers were there arguing over how they could have a reservation but no room. I tried to keep my cool in the highly charged environment and did my best to explain the situation while being courteous and polite. It was now well after midnight. I did get a replacement room about 1:30a. I thoroughly examined every inch of the room for cleanliness. It was okay but not great. There were Clearly stains on the sofa but I had no intention of using it. Last, I examined the bed. It appeared clean until I turned over the last pillow which had blood stains. I was exhausted. I threw the pillow in the corner and went to bed fully clothed. I stayed two nights. If there were other rooms available nearby I would have checked out. Even though I asked the front desk to send cleaning staff daily, no cleaning staff appeared during my stay. I reported all the problems to the front desk staff and to using the online app. I got a boilerplate email with platitudes and never heard back from anyone. Won't be returning to a Delta hotel ... ever. If this is a hotel chain's idea of cleanliness during the Covid pandemic, I am appalled and revolted. read more

We stay here all the time when we travel east to visit family & friends. We came here for the Xmas holiday weekend. It is an extra cold and no blankets. This was disappointing. Luckily I had my mink coat to cover up with. We put the thermostat at 80 but it kept going to 72. It was under 10 degrees last night so that's probably why. This morning we woke up to 80 in the room and it was comfortable. I wish I was more prepared. The check in system was down so we had to fill out paperwork. It may not sound like a big deal, but we didn't arrive til after 11:30 night and we were super tired. My husband used his card but we had to write the card info on paper (the form they gave us). I wasn't too happy about writing our cc info down on paper. He must have wrote it in wrong due to extreme tiredness because the front desk called us early in the AM and woke us up with the loud ring. Then because I didn't get to the phone, someone is knocking at our door. We are still half sleep. Couldn't they just leave a message? They acted like the world is coming to an end. Our phone rung twice and a knock on the door in the morning. I guess I can understand but we were dead tired. We will gladly handle it once we are up and about and let them swipe our card. Mold in bath, old peanut chew on floor in room, only 2 bath towels for a 4 guest check in and I requested extra towels and linens when booking, indoor pool was murky with barely any seating, they block hdmi use on their tv's, but worst of all, a fruit fly infestation in their dining area. They should not have even been serving food. It was bad. My blood pressure and blood sugar runs low, so I need to eat. I tried to convince myself it's just fruit flies, but an infestation that bad is clearly a sign of some unsanitary conditions. I threw out my sandwich. I booked for two nights but only stood for one. I normally stay with fam, but I had some allergy congestion that made me sound sick and during these times I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Everyone that asked where I was staying, said they never heard of Delta Mariott. I told them I highly DO NOT recommend. It was my first and last time at a Delta hotel. I had a junior suite we stayed there because my son was getting married at a venue close by. I'm rating a one because I got food poisoning on 9/26/2022. When I purchased breakfast at the Starbucks. The staff of teens seemed pretty uninterested in my reservation until they found out I was Marriott elite status. Then it was all Mr. Collins this and that etc. lol. Tip: This Building seems pretty old but I think there are some renovated rooms, so ask about those. I was only there for a night so I didn't really care too much. Stayed at this hotel NYE into NYD. The place is nice when you walk in, looks massive from outside. The cleanliness of the rooms are definitely up to par. However, the rooms could use some upgrades and paint touch ups. The bathroom wallpaper needs to be replaced and the bathrooms in general are a little dated and "getting old and tired" as another yelper put it. The bedding was lovely and the bed comfortable which is why I couldn't give less than 3 stars, clean and comfy is fine by me! I think their clients would appreciate some updating within the rooms. We used their pool, didn't have a hot tub which is disappointing for the colder months when the pool is only kept at a brisk room temperature not exactly "warmed". I came here for a business continuing education meeting. The meeting was held in one of the conference rooms on the 2nd floor. The breakfast buffet and lunch were good for catered meal. I stayed here for a one night stay for a work trip. Check in and check out were very fast and easy and the person at the front desk was friendly. The room was fine, but I did have some issues. Since I was only staying for a total of about 8 hours, I didn't bring any of the issues up to management (I checked out at 6 am for a meeting). First off, the tv was broken (the channels would freeze every time I changed them and then would not come back on). In regards to the bathroom, the water in the shower did not get that hot but it was hot enough for a quick shower. Also, there were stray hairs on some of my bathroom towels. Lastly, the two times I flushed my toilet, the water kept running for about 20 minutes. The hallways needed some updating (smelled a bit like mildew) and I had stains all over my couch in my room. I feel like I'm on tour. I've stayed in 3 different hotels for the past 3 weeks and this was stop #3. Right when I pulled up I was greeted by a beautiful building with prominent bright bold red letters that spelled out "Renaissance". There was ample (free) parking near the front entrance, and so I proceeding to grab my things and head to the front desk. The inside of the hotel is very modern, very chic with bright colors and decorated with large pieces of furniture and artwork. The front desk person asked me if I wanted a king sized bed (which I of course said yes to!) and I requested my room be away from an elevator, and voila! I was on the 4th floor which featured large floral printed carpet in yellow, blue and red colors (not sure where they were going with this... lol). The room was everything I could have hoped for, and they even had aveda products in the bathroom which I was impressed by. My king sized bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, and it was very nicely decorated with a nice couch on the other side of the room. The rates there are not bad, either-- I overheard the front desk clerk telling some guests who were attending that rooms were only 79.00 a night, and if thats true, thats a damn good deal for the room I was staying in (i didn't book the room, my employer did) anyyyywho! If you're in Iselin, NJ for whatever reason, check this place out. It's a hidden gem in the middle of no where. read more

They have great rooms for having events. The rooms are spacious and very nice. Can be used for many type events. The food that they catered was not good at all. The cake and the buffet style food had no taste at all. I would not come here if I need them to cater an event. But because the room and staff was great, that's why they got the 3 stars read more
