Well, where do I start. Let's just say that I HAD a longgg day...and all i wanted to do ;was to come to this hotel and possibly just lay in bed for like two hours or something. but of course when me AND my girlfriend arrived we were told that the system was combusting and we could not check in until the next day cause it still counted it as friday? but it was literally 1:25 AM. so techinacally its saturday yo. sooooo??? why am i stuck waiting hours to check in? this system is strange. management please sort this out and fix it. because ur patrons are tired. and we just want to sleep!

At first it appears that this is a very nice hotel and should be a great stay. Very large 2 room suite with environmental controls in each room. Large bed, comfortable enough sofa and chair in living room. But there are some mostly minor issues that prevent this from being a 5 star hotel. First, the bathroom layout leaves a bit to be desired. Cheapo TP holder on the wall behind you makes it difficult to reach and the TP constantly falling off the holder. It should be around the corner where it can be reached more easily. And there is no convenient place to put your towels so you can reach them from the shower. The bedroom has lights, but you can't turn them on from the doorway. Thus, when it is after dark you have to fumble your way through strange surroundings in the dark to turn a light on. The refrigerator didn't work properly - being slightly below room temp at the highest setting. There was no microwave - what hotel doesn't have a microwave in the room these days? And my personal favorite - the coffee bar. It is in the living room as far away from a source of water as possible. Nicely arranged with coffee/tea etc., the ice bucket, cups, and coffee maker with plug fed through the bottom of the bar and into....nothing. There is no place to plug it into. The staff we dealt with were all friendly and efficient. The location isn't the nest and the roads getting in and out can be confusing, and the parking lot is a wreck with giant craters in the pavement in spots. This place could easily be a 4 or 5 star hotel with just a little effort.

Really nice hotel and close to a great coffee shop Legrand :) clean and modern hotel. Two swimming pools, nice gym, business center, the only thing missing was a microwave in the room. Housekeeping was great, next to a Kona. There are a lot of weddings and gatherings there so I'd watch your vehicle, mine was hit and I found it that way the next morning. There is plenty of parking and convenient location! Staff is pleasant :)

Have stayed here both in the renaissance days and more recently as a delta. A solid option in a great location near both the parkway and turnpike. Rooms definitely feel a tad on the dated side even with the advertised renovation date of 2019 , but overall was clean and modern with friendly service. Realistically there are not many better options at this price level which are right off the highway , and Marriott Bonvoy members can get generous breakfast benefits and room upgrades which more than justify the small additional premium over your typical roadside motel. Posted some "unfiltered" pictures of room in use which give you a good idea of what you're getting.

VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We came here to run away from the heat wave in NYC. The hotel has and indoor and outdoor pool. From the pictures everything looks nice. But in reality, it is far from good. The pools are beyond filthy, unsafe and unsanitary! Yesterday afternoon, somebody grabbed someone else's stuff, escalated that police department had to come, security and management couldn't handle it. This morning i warned many times to front desk about the condition of the pool, I didn't see anybody come over, get samples from the water! Lastly, while we were sitting in the lobby, i asked my son to pick up complimentary waters from the desk, there was none. He asked front desk, the receptionist told my son to pick up waters from the shop. He came over with 3 waters. Not even 2 mins, the other receptionist approached at me, and said my son stole water from fridge, actually grabbed the water without any authorization, with so much anger and he has to charge them. I am beyond disgusted with service and manner, had to address to manager who first refused to come and discuss it in the first place. I insisted and gave my opinions about it!

I was in town recently visiting family and stayed here. The hotel itself I really was pleased with, the fact that Covid was hampering my stay experience is unfortunate. We arrived late one night and Jennifer was there at the front desk to greet us , a warm smile after a long day of travel was very welcoming and she was so friendly and informative that I felt at home. Our room was a great size, quiet and looked newly remodeled ( all except the shower and toilet) but the rest of the bathroom was spot on! We had a room a few floors up overlooking the pool which was well cared for I only wish we had the time to get in. The hotel is in a great location route 1 and Gill lane, plenty of local restaurants nearby. Now the only thing that was missing from my stay was being able to get a real coffee downstairs or have a restaurant on premises but COVID changed that along with daily room services. Yes you could still get service if you let them know a day in advance which I took advantage of once because of a week long stay, and getting fresh towels was not a problem. I took full advantage of the fitness center located by the pool, their were some machines that need some attention but was stocked with fresh towels and sanitizer. And when you need to work out or burn off some steam it does the job. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and will be staying again. I think after COVID and things are running at full speed it'll be even better.

This place is obviously hurting from Covid. The restaurant is closed down, limited staff, no room service, no bar, and no breakfast. Front desk staff aren't very friendly as another reviewer mentioned. No "hello, welcome to the Marriot!" No "How was your stay? Come again!" But omg the human DNA found in the bathroom showers were DISGUSTING!! Also the walls were visibly dirty. I complained to the front desk and she offered to upgrade my room which was nice but she said she "hoped" this next room would be clean. HOPE?! Anyway the upgraded room was nice enough but still hair all over the tub and shower walls. Just gross. I could've just stayed in a cheap motel for this. The bedding was weird. Just a duvet with a flat sheet thrown over it. No cover. That was weird and pretty unhygienic. I will not be coming back. By far my worst hotel experience in a long time.

First, the decor beautiful and everything is up to date and well-maintained. The big beds are really comfortable, the showers are clean and spacious and have good hot water and water pressure, the tub drains well, and the whole premises is safe and well-lit. The whole hotel is non-smoking. It's a very clean, very well kept up, and well-run hotel. The free Wi-Fi always worked. The locks could be connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth so I only had to press a button on an app on my phone to get into the building and unlock the door to my room. We had two big flat screen TVs with all the channels. There was a nice welcome message stating my Hilton membership status on the TV every time I checked in. A Target is across the parking lot and I loved that. It was so convenient. We really enjoyed the breakfasts. Derrick and his team did an amazing job, providing a delicious variety of fresh hot and cold food every day. The breakfast room has lots of plants and a high ceiling and enormous windows, and it just felt refreshing and invigorating to step in there every day. It had a good vibe. You know how people say "I would give it negative stars if I could"? Holy smokes... I would give it…read moreone negative star for every second that I had to stay here. Where to start: The front desk was awful. You usually just stand there and wait for someone to come to the empty front desk. Even then, the person you see tends to operate as though you're annoying them or preventing them from doing something they really want to do. The lady gave us our keys and didn't bother to tell us where the elevator was, how to get to the room, where the pool is, or where the gym is. Must have overlooked it. The first room I had seemed to be occupied or not ready, based on the trash piled outside, my key not working, and noises I heard inside. The front desk then gave me a second room that had the latch on the door busted and completely missing AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. I hated having to complain yet again, but basic security, at a minimum, should be there. The young lady finally "upgraded" me to a more spacious suite. The suite was fine, but the bathroom is disgusting, stained, and smelled bad. Not only that, I could hear the people in the other rooms arguing as well as the people outside, and kids crying from another room. Nightmarish. I honestly can't emphasize how badly I wish I had never stayed here, nor how very much you should stay away, and the certainty with which I will never stay here again.

After getting help to get out I reported the incident and they took the report refusing to give me a copy. I asked for a rubber mat to insure that those staying with me would not experience the same fate. They NEVER RESONDED. I needed to go to the ER and came back with a sling. I was not asked by anyone in the front desk, or higher if I was okay or asked if I needed anything. It was as if nothing ever happened. I walked over to housekeeping and asked them for a rubber mat for the tub. They said the hotel DIDN'T HAVE ANY. We needed to take TOWEL BATHS each day to avoid the hazard. When I got home I made several calls to inquire about liability information. I finally got a number they assured me could help me, but all I could get was a message machine and no one returned my call. We were also on the first floor and EACH NIGHT AROUND MIDNIGHT there was yelling and fighting in the hall and no one at the front desk, not far away, brought anything to order or called the police. This experience was the worst case of not caring about the safety of their customers, no concern for the customer and neglect of the customers forget about hospitality and customer service! Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend the Holiday Inn Express Suites Woodbridge by HIG in Avenel, NJ.

PROS First, most importantly the cleanliness of the hotel was nice, no issues with this at all, my room had a fridge, microwave, and a king bed. All lights functional and working. The showers provided hot water and the water pressure was pleasant. Next, the front desk was friendly, room service was very active and present each day. The hotel lobby is quiet with vending machines and a six chair seated lobby. Their workout room is minimal, but appropriate as it has a treadmill and an elliptical. They do also provide a laundry room with soaps and detergents going for 1.25 each, and the machines at 3.50. (Bring your coins or ask the front desk they have change) Lastly, the wifi provided was efficient at times, but can sometimes be a little spotty in the mornings when everyone might be using it. CONS Breakfast was quite disappointing. They offer it from 6am to 9am, in which to my knowledge they only provided liquids. Coffee, apple juice, and orange juice. The morning I did come down for breakfast, (around 8am) that was all that was present. Maybe at 6am they might have some food? But it doesn't look like it. Was quite sad when I was looking to have some kind of bagel at least. Lastly, the noise barrier through the doors is not very soundproof, so just know you might hear your neighbors a little more than you'd like to at times, but if you're out and about the only times this could bother you is when waking up, or sleeping. Earplugs recommended if you're a light sleeper and you have loud neighbors potentially. I spent a week here and had a good visit, I know the area they can't help too much, it's close to the highway which can't be heard while spending time there as you are behind a cafe. The spot is ideal for a few different plazas. Ideally a good stay if you're looking for some simplicity.
