At the close of the ceremony, we joined in placing a wreath at the tombstone of fallen heroes, saying their names out loud and keeping their memories alive. I was a bit more emotional than I thought that I would be. We take our freedom for granted and sometimes forget that many lives were lost in order to protect our nation. It was a moving experience and I'm glad that I was a part of it. I look forward to contributing to this in the years to come. For those who are unable to physically partake in the activity, there are ways to contribute such as monetary donations to supply the wreaths and charter buses that took hundreds of us to the cemetery.
