My mom left her home on 11/29/15, via ambulance, to go to the hospital with severe pneumonia. On 2/12/16, she passed away from severe respiratory failure, due to the pneumonia and complications from COPD and Congestive Heart Failure. It wasn't sudden, and we had sufficient time to say our goodbyes, but it certainly didn't make the inevitable any easier. On Saturday, 2/13/16, I was fortunate enough to be on be on the phone with Kelly Haman at Invocares, who took my information and made all the arrangements to take care of my mothers remains. Mom was in their care later that same afternoon, which was a huge relief to me. Kelly Haman was the absolute epitome of exactly how my beloved mother, Jean Evelyn Kimari, and I, needed to be treated at that extremely difficult time. Kelly displayed the utmost empathy and dignity and respect that everyone deserves after losing a loved one. Kelly did everything that she promised she would do, with zero hassles or slip-ups. My mothers ashes were returned to us in a timely manner, and not only that, the urn had a lovely green ribbon tied around it...not unusual, except for the fact that green was my mothers favorite color. A padded envelope arrived in the mail yesterday from Invocares that included a silver pendant with my mothers name inscribed on one side, and a my moms actual fingerprint on the other. Invocares has far exceeded our expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. When my father's health took a turn for the worse with his cancer I knew that time was of the essence to get his final wishes in order. I have never had to do this personally and was so distraught at even having to make this call. I called a few places before reaching Kelly Haman at Invocare. Bless her heart, I was a mess; I could barely function through my tears. Kelly took the reins without a moment's hesitation and her manner was so comforting. She let me know simply and clearly everything that would need to be done for my Daddio. She was kind, caring, patient, sent all paperwork in a timely manner, and was always available by phone any time I needed to ask a question. After the death of my father, I didn't know what to expect, but Kelly explained everything in detail so there were no surprises. She went the extra mile helping with certain aspects of his burial that I was just too overwhelmed with grief to be able to focus on. The facilities were humble, peaceful, and calming; and the staff were kind and showed the highest respect to both myself and my Dad. It has taken me a while to sit down and write this. As I am still heart broken over losing my sweetheart and my sole mate. He was my world, my everything and more...God bless him. This has been one of the hardest times to probably write a review but this company is so deserving of me taking some time to write it. From the very first phone call the day after my brother passed away unexpectedly to all my annoying phone calls in between they answered my questions professionally and with such compassion it felt like family. I would like to commend Elena and the staff at Invocare for the wonderful service they handled for my mother. She passed away after a short illness. We contacted Invocare and dealt with memorial Concierge Elena. She made an online arrangement with myself and my sister. We did this from our homes as my sister lives in Northern California and I live in Southern California. It helped to make a very tough time very easy. Elena helped us plan a fitting tribute which was a graveside service a Celebration of Life that was actually affordable. This was perfect for mom as she was not a funeral type of person. On Feb. 10th I lost my husband tragically after 30 years, I had no idea where to start. My daughter's mother-in-law started making phone calls to help me out.
