Had to see him at least 3 visits for the same exact pain b4 he finally ordered an X-ray! On a different visit besides those 3- I had told him I'm concerned bc an Urgent Care PA told me I have COPD and wanted Dr. Miranda's 2nd opinion. He literally laughed and said that's impossible and therefore I didn't have it yet he didn't even examine me! I had to tell him well, would you mind examining me instead of just talking to me? He listened to my chest then and still said I don't have it. I switched doctors and the new doctor ordered an X-ray confirming I in fact have COPD. I'm just amazed that the PA at the urgent care I went to could hear it with a stethoscope and was actually correct without an X-ray. I know for a fact from a past job at a medical company that Miranda has been a physician of residents of long term health care facilities and hospices - that's very alarming to me if he treats those ppl as poorly as he did with me. read more

He is as affable and reassuring as hell, but he missed that my wife was having a heart attack and started talking about an unusual cold that was going around, and prescribed a stronger inhaler, which did not help. I took her to the hospital the next day. She passed away in the hospital. Also, if I remember right, his office staff did not do a blood pressure measurement; if they had he would have had more data and might have made a better diagnosis. Yes, I know that heart attacks in women can be difficult to spot, but I can't give him a good rating - I just can't. . read more

Seriously, he has a great knack for talking to every patient, from overeducated dumb white dog rescuers like me, right down to your toddler son. I have no issues with wait time. He doesn't take a long time unless you need it -- and then he takes as long as you need & hurries on to the next patient. Doesn't put up with B.S. Honest & ethical to the core. This Review is on the Office staff Only. I called the office requesting a Emergency Appointment, because I was very, sick. The Receptionist said they were busy, and would try to get a appointment for me, or ask Dr. Miranda to contact a pharmacy to get medicine for me, and she would be calling me back. She never did. I had to call Doctor's on Demand to get Medicine. The Office Staff here are LIER'S and LAZY. Dr. Miranda needs to replace his Staff. read more

I am very grateful for Dr. Miranda's willingness and ability in helping assist my specific medical condition throughout the last few years. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in his assessment, allowing him to prescribe the appropriate medications and offer the necessary medical attention. I've been searching for a primary physician for a while now when I came across Dr. Miranda. Im not going to lie.. he intimidated me at first with his straight forwardedness but he truly takes the time to explain things to you. He doesn't sugar coat things but I appreciate that. He is a very nice and patient doctor which is hard to find these days. I've only had 3 visits but hes made an impression. His staff is super helpful too. They don't mind if you ask questions and they are very patient with you. The wait is only about 15mins which is unheard of for a doctor's visit. All and all im happy with my new primary physician. read more

After waiting for over 2 hours, the receptionist promptly asked for payment. After already giving her my insurance card and stating a doctors visit is covered, she agreed that It would be covered. The doctor was apologetic as too how long I had been waiting, and after spending less than a couple minutes with me, he left, not even receiving the treatment I asked for. The receptionist claims that what he did was different from what my insurance covers, was extremely rude about everything throughout the whole process and demanded that I pay the money. Finances aside, not a good experience overall, and I will never go back. Although the doctor was nice and professional I still strongly do NOT recommend this practice. read more

Such a great doctor, front desk, and overall practice. He's knowledgeable, understanding, and accommodating. The receptionists are friendly and they've never messed up anything. I would say, i can see him same day 2 out of 3 times. I just call the office and ask them if they can squeeze me in. Most of the time, i will be seen in a few hours. Once i am in the office, wait time is as short as 15-30 mins. I am moving to LA and i am debating if i shouldn't switch doctors and just bear with the long drive. read more

Dr Raul like to keep it real, and I appreciate that. When I had a severe stomach pain, I called the office and he saw me within an hour, gave me the right meds, and next day I felt better! Overall, I think he is a great guy who is honest and will give you his honest, professional, and educated opinion. read more

We've been seeing Dr. Miranda for years. His office staff, appointment time, wait time, has improved immensely over the last year! I'm grateful we stuck it out as he is amazing and now his staff reflect this as well. First of all, by appointment only-that's a LIE! Takes medical insurance? LIE!! You can have the best insurance in the world, you're still paying $200 each visit straight into Miranda's pocket, to make things worse is he prescribes me 14 day supply of my medication so I have to go back for $200 if I want the rest of my monthly meds. Very uncomfortable during visit as he was sporadic filling out prescription for me that he should be drug tested. He said okay so I'm going to write you enough for 14 days that way I can monitor you based on your return visit, then when he writes he puts a ten day supply. I had to tell him or else my visit would have been even more of a waste of money/time/hope/faith in Dr. help. The one positive thing was that he told me to go to Rexall Ramsey Pharmacy to fill up my prescription because Walgreens or CVS might not fill it up for me, which sounds like either he is red flagged as a Doctor at big RX chains or that he makes a commission off referring his patients to Ramsey's. But at least I knew I was able to get my medication unlike Doctors who are red flagged from all RXs, which I have been to (Dr.Andrew Kieley, Long Beach) So do yourself a favor and don't go to this doctor, there are many other doctors who will treat you fairly and not trick you with their pricing. What that's doing is taking advantage of those in need and are vulnerable. Also I have been on alprazolam for 10 years now, instead of listening to me talk about how I've been weaning down off Alprazolam for the last year, he's switching me to Librium 25mg and told me to completely stop taking the Alprazolam. If anybody has half a brain they know how dangerous benzo withdrawal especially at that length of time is extremely dangerous. People die from stopping benzos! This seems to be irrelevant to Dr. Miranda who was rushing me out the door. So if you want to pay $200 for 14 suboxone 8mg Plus RX cost of medication and have a horrible experience, go see this guy. If you would like to know of a Suboxone Doctor who doesn't lie about "monthly" visit fee, contact me for Dr. who prescribes #60-8mg strips per month. Most medical insurances cover cost of #60 units of this medication at RX so you will be paying co-pay+$150=$160-$200 which is over 10x cheaper than Miranda. I hope I could help any potential patients really reconsider making the same mistake I made. First of all, this doctor is never available. He only works for 3-4 hours a day, so scheduling an appointment in the near future is impossible. Don't even bother trying to do a walk in. You won't get seen. Front desk staff is rude, unresponsive, and will lie to your face. On numerous occasions, I have called to make an appointment or request a prescription refill. Their response is always that they'll call back. Surprise surprise, they never do. The doctor once sent me to get an X-ray for a sinus infection and told me to call back for results. I called back every other day for 2 and a half weeks and no one was able to give me a response--just their monotone "we'll call you back". I finally walked into the office to get some freaking information from them and was told the doctor wasn't in. He'll be in at 1:15 they say. I come back a second time the same day, and he's still unavailable. Now they're demanding that I either drop everything I'm doing and wait until he's done with all his patients, or schedule an appointment 3 weeks later. If you are lucky enough to actually see the doctor, he is professional and efficient. But you'll probably die of whatever illness you're suffering from before that ever happens, so just go somewhere else. read more

My wife and I have used Dr. Miranda as our family doctor since 1994. We've stayed with him because he is friendly, professional, and a good diagnostician. He was able to help me with a serious problem when some highly-regarded specialists could not. He is unfailingly accurate in diagnosing problems and prescribing proper remedies. As an added benefit, we can almost always get an appointment the same or the next day. I couldn't ask for a better family physician. read more

Dr. Miranda has been my primary care physician for years. He is a straight shooter and highly competent physician. I have recommended Dr. Miranda to several people over the years. He is highly intelligent and also very compassionate. I would recommend never trying to pull the wool over his eyes as you will be sorely disappointed. It's all about the money. I was a diabetic patient for this doctor and I could tell you right now; RUN! With the doctor knowing my condition, he purposely withheld my medication; for which he demanded an office visit, for which I couldn't accommodate until three weeks later. Meanwhile, my body started reacting to the lack of medication. As for the reception staff, they are very rude, unprofessional, and lack tact. Very becoming of the person they work for and how they want things to operate. read more

I have been a patient at doctors Miranda's office for the last 20 plus years. My experience is completely different than others I have read in here and I think it is only fair that I tell you about it. I came to this office after having horrible experiences at a medical group I had before where doctors came and went and if they spend 10 minutes with you was too much. Yes when you go to doctor Miranda's office you may have to wait sometimes longer than expected, specially on a Monday or Tuesday, and it is because he gives you his full attention and answers all of your questions, he is not in a hurry to leave the room, and if he does, he will tell you to wait and come backs to you again. He also treats his patients with respect and compassion. I have come in short notice (calling first of course), when really sick and they have accommodated me to see the doctor. It is always advisable to ask if doctor will be there on Fridays. I believe one day of the week he only works half a day. In the past, the staff has generally been helpful and friendly,the new staff may not be now, and I do agree with some of the reviews in here about the staff not being helpful at times or unfriendly. read more
