The playground is large and has a lot of climbing equipment, slides, and swings. This area of the park also has a covered pavilion with a picnic tables and a portable restroom. A few days ago a woman and her two daughters were shocked by the metal railing leading to the restroom. The city determined it was due to a leaky air conditioning unit on top of the restroom and they have fixed the issue. i would still caution against touching the railing just to be on the safe side. In the immediate area outside the playground there is even more for families to enjoy like a memorial meditation garden and aquatics center with pool, splash zone, and water slide. A brand new 30 million dollar community center is being built with a refurbished gym, wellness studio, cultural art space, art studios, rooms for STEM programs, new restrooms, and more. With the addition of the new community center this corner of Palm Beach Gardens is going to be an impressive gathering place for the community.

I loved that it offers so many activities in one place--kayaking, paddleboarding, the beach, picnic areas, a gift shop, and educational exhibits--all at very reasonable prices. Parking was only $5, and the kayak and paddleboard rentals were affordable too. Unfortunately, I happened to visit on a day with an extremely low tide. Paddleboard rentals were suspended, but kayak rentals were still available. The staff did warn us about the low tide and advised us to stay near the edges to avoid getting stuck. However, as someone new to kayaking, I didn't realize just how much the tide would impact the experience. For a large portion of our trip, the water was so shallow that our kayaks constantly got stuck. We had to repeatedly get out and drag them through the water. At times, the water wasn't even ankle deep. I completely understand that the staff can't control the tides, but I honestly wish kayak rentals had also been paused that day because the conditions made it difficult to really enjoy the experience. By the time we finished kayaking, we were exhausted and felt pretty gross from walking through the murky water, so we ended up skipping the beach altogether. Outside of that, the park itself looked lovely. There was a nice picnic area, a cute gift shop, and they even had a rescued sea turtle with a volunteer sharing information about sea turtle conservation, which was a really nice touch. There also appeared to be several educational exhibits throughout the park, although they happened to be closed during our visit. One downside was a pretty unpleasant smell near the gift shop, but I'm guessing that may have also been related to the unusually low tide. Despite my experience, I haven't written the park off. The photos I've seen online make it look absolutely beautiful, and I think we were just unlucky with the timing. I'd definitely consider coming back on a day with higher water levels to give it another chance. It sounds like a great park overall--I just recommend checking the tide conditions before planning to kayak or paddleboard so you can enjoy it at its best.

Marcus was first elected to the Palm Beach commission in 1984. The park was named in her honor because the commission felt he helped control the development in northern Palm Beach to keep it from becoming overcrowded. In addition to the trail, the park has restrooms, an observation deck, fishing pier, picnic tables and a boat launch onto the C-18 Canal. Sadly I did not see any of my beloved sandhill cranes this trip although there were other birds willing to show off. For 20 years (1968-1989) trucks hauled trash to the the 445 acre Dyer Boulevard Landfill site until…read moreit finally closed. In April of 1995 the old landfill was turned into a park. The waste authority paid the $5 million to build the park per an agreement they made. They needed to purchase some parcels of land the county did not own from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The foundation required that once the landfill closed it had to be turned into a park. The waste authority wanted to make the park a showcase of recycling and they used compost, mulch and plastic lumber and other recycled materials wherever possible. A restroom, two baseball diamonds, four soccer fields, a picnic area, lakes for boating and fishing, hiking trails, equestrian trials, and walking paths and a mountain bike challenge course were added to what was once a large modern garbage dump. Most of the park is spread out in between the four garbage hills. All four landfills hills were covered with a plastic liner and topped with two feet of soil and grass. You can see this park from the turnpike. I have often passed it and was intrigued because you never see hills in Florida. Across the street is the landfill that is currently being used. With nothing but time I finally stopped to see what was here. I took the trail from the parking lot to the top of the hill and it ended up being a mile. This was a fun and unique way to work out because it is difficult to find an incline unless you use a gym machine. From the top of the hill you could see people playing on the sports fields down below. All along the trail people were exercising at a safe distance apart. Even so the City of Palm Beach has now closed the park.

The guides were knowledgeable and very helpful. They were enjoyable to be around. The birds were gorgeous and the temperature was perfect- meaning the weather. I can't wait to come back for other trips and even just walk the boardwalk! The only issue is that it is dark near the outdoor bathroom- because my friend tripped there. So perhaps they should rethink the lighting there!

North County District Park is a 82-acre athletic and recreation complex. It is located on 117th Court North near the city's tennis center. The sprawling park includes seven lighted multi-purpose fields, two open fields, a splash pad, nature trail and walking areas, three pavilions, two playgrounds, gravity rail and 23.6 acres of preserve. it is the largest athletic complex in the area and has more than 600 parking spots. The pristine athletic fields make this park ideal for team sports but children will also love cooling off at the splash pad and playing at the ninja styled shade covered playground. My favorite part of the park was the nature trail. I just wish it had parking closer to the entrance. The field next to trail is under construction so I am excited to see what will be added to the park next.

I had to drag them away, and we've returned multiple times due to its popularity! This is still a fenced in playground, surrounded by shady trees (though mostly sunny above the playground itself), with benches for parents to sit on. Sometimes I sit at a concrete picnic table just outside of the fence to work. Sitting there, it was fairly easy to see my kids at all times (unlike the previous equipment). Still love the walk around the pond. Recently, we explored the little island in the middle across the walking bridge (which could use an upgrade itself). Kids were fishing off the bridge and from the platform on the island. The water doesn't always look healthy but there are a lot of ducks.

There are plenty of covered picnic areas as well as pavilions and a gazebo that can be rented Next to the park is a new, 4 million dollar recreation center that offers camps and community events. The Constitution Park playground was dedicated in 1996 to Christina Holt, a victim of child abuse. Christina was discovered in a shallow grave in northern Palm Beach County after being beaten and placed there by here stepfather, Walter John Zile. He was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse. There is a plaque honoring Christina in the park.
