My husband loves the goat curry here at this restaurant. It is inside of a gas station. I do not like ordering from this place because there's always flies around the food and it doesn't look very clean. I ordered two containers of goat curry and 7 naans and it cost $75. They were supposed to add rice with the order because it comes with a goat curry but they did not give me the rice that is supposed to come with my food. That is disappointing when I don't get what I paid for. All in all if you want authentic tasting food this place is good but you will definitely have to sacrifice hygiene. read more

You're asking, "What's a Dhaba?" You're probably not asking that, but I'm going to assume you are. Dhaba is a term for a restaurant that is traditionally found on roadsides in India or Pakistan; for all sakes and purposes, Dhabas are truck stops that serve food. Dhabas normally cater to Indians of Punjabi descent; a lot of the truck drivers in India are Punjabi and they like their food spicy. So here's your only warning about that: If you find even standard Indian fare (from the average buffet in OKC) to be too much heat for your sensitive palate, then don't even bother going to Dhaba OKC, because even I (who thrives on spicy food) can feel the top of my head sweating after I finish a Dhaba meal. The owner-operator couple is of Punjabi descent, so that would explain it. Their curry dishes are legit. Their biryanis are beyond legit. Most everyone who knows me knows that I can't enjoy a meal without some kind of meat being a part of it, but even the Vegetarian biryani is so freaking delicious that I could eat it alone and be entirely satisfied. Prices (when considering the amount of food) are quite reasonable. You're looking at anywhere between $9.00-$12.00 to leave satisfied. Honestly, I would pay more for some of that Vegetarian biryani. But I'm also really hungry right now. The only downside is the location. Basically, I have to go out of my way to get to Dhaba OKC. Really, the only time I'm going to even think about this place is if I'm heading to or from Tulsa. Exit on 122nd, and pull up to the gas station. Walk inside and be transported to what looks like a shady place, but have no fear because it's just Indians. Double down on some delectable Desi dishes at this divey, delightful Dhaba. The good: The food itself was good. Hot, tasty, spices came through well. Fresh naan was brought to our table shortly after getting our first plates. Everything looked clean and orderly. Roaches every where. The buffet food was good until i sat in a booth and watched a roach crawl across the opposite seat, and then another one crawling on the wall. The place is filthy with food crumbs in the seats. Empty cardboard boxes piled in the corner. Staff was nice, no ice for the water. First, all the staff were incredibly nice including the gas station employees. If you're looking for authentic traditional Indian food that is outrageously delicious this is the place. Appearance doesn't bother me, I know many have said it's outdated. Wife and I couldn't care less about that. We went for the food, and were shocked at how amazing everything was. I've noticed this place from the highway more times than I can count, and always thought, "An Indian restaurant in a gas station?" Finally stopped and decided to try it. And it was absolutely fantastic. Tried a number of dishes, all were fresh and delicious, and I have to say.. this little restaurant built into the side of a gas station by the highway has significantly better Indian food than I've had at a number of more elegant restaurants, and at a very reasonable price. I wish I lived closer, or I'd eat here more often. But it's certainly on my short list of favorite restaurants when traveling through Oklahoma City. read more

This is the only Indian food truck stop that I know of where you can get flavorful Indian food and a AK-47 hookah at the same time. Fresh naan, all delicious, several vegetarian options. Not too clean but still feeling good an hour later. Sight-seeing on the way to the restrooms: Medieval ax, Jason from "Halloween" mask, glass pipes, and other items that would be potentially useful if you were into various kinds of criminal activities. Let me set the stage so one is not disappointed: Paper plates, plastic ware, and pretty much fend for yourself. That being said, the food is very good. Vegetarian options, Halal, and yes, chicken curry. Not intimate, but if you're sick of IHOP, Chili's, and McDonald's, take a walk on the wild side. The kitchen is run by South Indians, even though the people in the store are North Indians. Here is the problem: south Indians cannot usually cook North Indian food very well. As a result, the paranthas are laced with raw red chili, and the north Indian buffet is foul. No self respecting punjabi dhaba cook would sell the kind of paranthas these guys make. If you are an expat Indian truck driver, with an iron stomach, and missing Indian food, this place may be OK. As far as Indian food in general is concerned, this place sucks. read more

This place is the champ! Great tasting food. Not like an up class place but like an authentic "indian dhaba" . The food is on the spicy side which is awesome. Some bites taste just like home food. The manager is a nice dude, he took over recently and apparently the guy before lacked the enthusiasm to progress and keep up quality. The restaurant is located in a truck stop/ gas station. Not ideal for the typical date night, but my husband suggested to check it out since we're more than familiar with the other Indian Restaurants in OKC. When we arrived, we were confused if it was open/ closed since the sign was not lit, but decided to check it out anyway. A slimy looking man sat to the right of covered buffet line with a look of disinterest as we entered. We approached and asked him where to order. He led us to the middle of the buffet line and said "here," as if it were obvious. The menu was a dirty crumpled paper. When I asked him to recommend something, he mumbled half under his breath, but I was able to make out butter chicken. So, my husband and I ordered the goat biryani, butter chicken, and garlic naan. The man said it would be ready in 20 minutes, so I decided to take a venture to the gas station area to look at the trinkets. After a few minutes of waiting we got the show we weren't expecting. A customer and an old man (I believe the owner) got in a screaming cursing fight that lasted at least 5 minutes- something about the customer not getting what he ordered. The old man screamed at him, "get out." Wow! I was uncomfortably shocked at the lack of professionalism. What happened to the customer is always right?!? Not at this restaurant! After 40 minutes of waiting and listening to a patron at the gas station station talk obscenely loud on his phone about hitting a woman/ getting into a fight, etc, our food was finally ready. Needless to say, we were relieved to get out of there! We thought we would surely have the runs from eating there, but we were pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the biryani. Probably 1 of the best biryanis I've tried in OKC, but the butter chicken was disappointing despite the recommendation. It was all chewy breasts pieces.
