Coming from out of state, I needed urgent dental care. Called around but OnCall Dental kept up with the return calls on helping me book my appt & offering diff payment options due to not having dental insurance. The next morning Jen got me in in 1.5hrs! The office is very clean, had good energy & aura about it. Genevieve is an absolute doll! Very informative, caring, attentive. Dr Gates is a magician! Great bedside manner & very thorough. Talked me thru every step. Tho I needed numbing 3x he & his team calmed me down from my fear of dentists... It's a big fear .. I frequent town often & will now only use this office. I needed other work done, I've already known this.. but due to financial & time constraints, I could only pay for one tooth extraction today. I wouldn't have been writing this review but after waiting 2 months for my insurance to activate. Dr. Mirelez no longer excepts medical insurance to help patients with the cost with their dental surgery and transplant procedure. I understand the reason behind canceling but his office could have had the decency to notify all of his patients who were waiting for dental procedures that his office no longer took medical insurance for those services. I've seen Dr. Mirelez on so many commercials or infomercial and the way he talks speaks about being compassion and you would think he would have a little more empathy for patients who can't afford to pay for dental care and need that medical insurance to help pay for their treatment. Sometimes his office staff just needs to work a little bit harder to recover funds from the insurance companies! I cared for my chronically ill wife for 30 years took medical leave from my job for 12 years. That's what true patient care is!!! "Great experience" and "dentist appointment" are not usually two phrases I pair together, but I am honestly INFATUATED with this entire business and everyone who works here. I was impressed with the staff from the moment I called to schedule my first appointment. At this point, I have spoken with every single one of the ladies who work the front desk, and every one of them is cheerful, articulate, and knowledgeable. I have now had x-rays done, a cleaning, even two wisdom teeth removals, and honestly -- each one was a great experience, and I never thought I'd say that about dentistry, haha. The hygienists are sweet and gentle, and the dentist himself has been extraordinary; kind, excellent about explaining things without being condescending, very open and patient with all of my questions, and very attentive to how I was feeling/doing during each procedure. I have not personally encountered Dr. Mirelez (I believe it's Dr. Gates who's been helping me?) but I choose to believe he's great, considering how excellently his business is run, and how incredible his staff is. *TLDR: told me no charge over phone, got an x-ray, paid $110 for it and getting a refund for a cleaning I was charged for and didn't get. Amy was super nice. I really really wanted to love this place. I made an appointment after not seeing the dentist for quite some time. I called and the person who answered was very responsive, super nice and attentive. Gave her my insurance and she told me she'd call me back with my estimated pay out. When she called she said my insurance would cover everything and I should be good to go. Fast forward to the day of my appointment. They kept calling me asking if I could go in sooner than the time I scheduled. I specifically scheduled at 2:30 since I had an eye appointment at 1 so I told them no. Then I get another call and they asked if I could come in early and I said no again. She starts to tell me my appointment is at 2 not 2:30 but I clearly have a text and email saying 2:30 so I was confused but told her I could try to come in earlier. It's about 1:30 and I get a text saying they'll see me at my appointment at 3? Now I'm confused again. I get to the office around 2:20 and they tell me it was just a mix up. Eventually I get called to the back and Amy was insanely nice. I really enjoyed her presence and she made me comfortable. Got a check up and x-rays and they told me they didn't have time to clean my teeth that day (Amy scraped a bit off my teeth and told me I wouldn't get charged). Then they said someone will talk to me about my charges. Charges? I thought it was gonna be free, plus all I got was an x-ray. She brings me to the back and I had to pay $160 (that's with my "discount" of 50% off and a comped check up which was normally $79). I told her someone else told me my insurance would cover it all and she said they were wrong and that they weren't PPO. The girl was just confused. They also charged me for a cleaning which I didn't realize til now. Just called for a refund which they are processing. Overall I'm really disappointed in my experience. There was lot of miscommunication between everyone there. I basically paid $110 for an x-ray, if someone would've told me I'd be paying that I'd probably say no and make my way out. I guess I should've made sure they were actually PPO and not believed the workers there. I wasn't able to experience Dr. Gates work, but he was pleasant, honest, very knowledgeable and I'm sad that I wasn't able to move forward past my deep cleaning. I favored Ms. Lisa due to her light touch and friendly personality, but Both hygienists I would recommend to anyone. The only reason I did not move forward with the remainder of my treatment was because of the billing department. First off, just because you have a PPO insurance, it does not mean you can go anywhere for a good price. Make sure the dental office you go to is in network. I worked in 2 dental offices in the span of 12 years and wrongly assumed other offices would have the same type of direct communication and etiquette I was accustomed to, resulting in me getting a 1600 dollar bill. From my understanding, you submit treatment to the patient's insurance to get preauthorization and THEN call the patient to disclose what they will actually be paying out of pocket BEFORE you make the appointment. This office gave me an estimate, scheduled me while I was under the impression my insurance was going pay a decent chunk, only to get massive bills in the mail after I had already got my treatment done. The last visit I had, front office lady named Jennifer was rather annoyed and told me that they are still "fighting" my insurance in which I told her I was never aware there was even a problem (cause don't billing departments call the insurance to verify what percentages of treatment is covered etc the first day of a patient's visit?) Although Jennifer seems to be one of the main ladies upfront or head of the billing department, Mariana was a sweet heart and I would ask for her if possible. I've been working extremely hard to pay of debt and wouldn't have gone with this office if I would have known way less than half would have been covered. Remember, always call your Insurance to verify what offices are in network, because not all office will be nice enough to give you all the information you need. Make sure to never make an appointment until you get verification of what will be out of pocket and what insurance WILL PAY not ESTIMATED PAY*** also, save all copies of consent forms and EVERY form you sign just in case. Also, this place charges I think 50 dollars or more for not canceling appointments. I called and left a message for a document to be emailed to me AND to cancel my upcoming periomaintenance appointment until my billings issues were resolved. They clearly got my message right away because I was emailed the info I requested within minutes. I was originally very pleased with this office. I had an emergency dental issue on a Sunday and this office took my insurance and saw me same-day. The dentist I saw was very kind, and very attentive. Turns out I had a damaged root canal that needed to be pulled ASAP. I booked the appointment and got in the next week. Everything was going well. They went over my paperwork with me in detail and prescribed my pain meds easily. I came in the morning of the extraction and was greeted warmly. They even gave me a blanket. I was basically sedated which is what I wanted. The extraction went well and this were great. They followed up with me and I even scheduled a dental exam there. I went to the dental exam and had 6 cavities. I asked for a price breakdown because, even with insurance, they wanted to charge me a little over $2,100. I had requested the itemized treatment plan, which I received. I also requested my full set of x-rays that my insurance only approves once every three years. They would NOT give me my x-rays. I requested my full set of x-rays via email on: 3-22-2021 3-24-2021 3-29-2021 4-15-2021 4-22-2021 5-4-2021 I received no response from them and never received them. It was a pressing issue because my insurance was ending and I needed those x-rays to have a "current" set as I no longer have insurance and cannot afford to pay out of pocket for an entire new set. To this day, 9-15-2021, I have not received any communication and all my emails went unanswered. I was never reached out to. Very disappointing experience after starting off so well. read more

I was NOT told I would be out-of-network until after my visit, which caused them to bill at full UCR prices. Even with my PPO secondary coverage they still billed me for over $200 just for preventative work. There is no reason to charge someone with 2 PPO insurances over $200. I wanted to follow my doctor to this office but the staff should have informed me of being out-of-network when I scheduled my appointment 3 months in advance or even when I confirmed my appointment or at least upon arrival. I had a trauma to my front teeth years ago which left my smile looking less than optimal. The teeth were suboptimally repaired by another dentist but I always wanted a better looking smile. Later in my years, I had to get a root canal and subsequent apicoectomy, then finally told I need an implant on tooth #8 (right smack in the middle of my upper teeth!). I was so upset about it, but then I met Dr. Mirelez and his staff who put my mind at ease and created a miracle. They stood by me every step of the way and to top it off, my smile was beautiful! One of his dental assistants even came in on a holiday to fix my semi-permanent prior to placing the implant. This procedure was done a couple years ago. I recently had some issues with my dental implant (to no fault of Dr. Mirelez) and now live in San Diego, CA. I contacted him and he has been so helpful in guiding me step-by-step on how to correct this issue. I don't trust anyone else but him when it comes to my dental implant. I went to Dr Mirelez when my dentist retired, and my implants began to fail. I have full dentures with implant anchors. Dr Mirelez was friendly, very polished in his consultation, assuring me he would improve my smile. I paid a little over 31,000.During surgery, there was interruptions and pain. I experienced a lot of pain at different times in his office. From the beginning, my new implants and dentures were a problem. Lack of retention, teeth breaking, had me in his office often. He adjusted, changed out the implants, cut tissue, all the time blaming me. A hard bite, mis alignment, all leading to more money. I think the worst, he changed my teeth, making my new teeth smaller and pushed further back. The truth, he aged me 10 years almost overnight. My family and close friends were horrified. Highly suggest going to a different dentist. 1 Wisdom tooth extraction turned into a 1.5hour procedure of digging and probing my gums. I was recommended to take Advil and Tylenol together for the pain. Was not prescribed any pain medication for after the major surgery? During the healing process I developed dry socket. I called the emergency number I was given and told the doctor about the pain I was in. It was so bad and so painful I was sweating. The doctor did not believe I was experiencing dry socket symptoms and only prescribed pain 2 days worth of medication when I called her crying. I told her I wanted somebody to take a look at my tooth the next day because I didn't think the pain level was normal and was told to that the doctor would call me back to schedule a time for me to come back on a day that she was working so she could see it for herself. I was never called back. After the medication ran out I went back to get the recommended refill and had to clear it with the doctor who not so subtly suggested that I was abusing the medication. Y'all. It was a low dosage of pain meds?? I ended up going to another dental office who within 10 minutes told me I definitely did have dry socket and that it needed to have been taken care of immediately. THEN I received an additional bill for a billing error that THEY made. When I brought up the fact that it was their mistake and that I had already paid the entire cost before the procedure took place I was told I still had to pay the difference. The only semi nice thing I can say about this place is that the office staff weren't rude. Overall a terrible experience. read more

The financial people gave me a quote, but at the end of he appointment they told me they made a mistake. I asked to talk to the Dr but the office manager Stella came out. She was very curt and snippy and totally unhelpful to me. The Dr for was nice enough, but my tooth later hurt. They looked at it again bit they told me nothing was wrong. I went to another dentist finally and they treated my tooth. I had had a crack that was missed. They put on a crown and it was better. Oh yes. I'm in from out of town, all I needed was composite material placed on a temporary crown that was already in my mouth, because it was loose. I have an appt. w/ my dentist in 2-wks for implant impression. I had to pay $99. just to be seen, than they were gonna charge me another $200. It wasn't a prep, what the heck. I'm in the dental lab business, and this is a rip-off and over-charge. I left, totally dismayed! I just left Dr. Scott Janzen's office, what a pleasure!!! Took care of me, and charged $94.00. What a huge difference in patient care. Don't bother w/ this group, they are only about the ca-ching. I guess your paying for the Dentist's life-style. I was referred here when I cracked and old filling and needed a crown. That turned out well enough. After getting treatments for fillings, I feel that I am worse off. I have had cracks and pieces of my teeth fall out from simple fillings. I have returned many times to have them adjusted and repaired and I'm still left with an improper bite, pain, and the feeling that my teeth aren't right. Very unfortunate. Thanks to more than one negative experience in the chair over the years, and some shady behavior and less than effective treatment at my previous office, I do NOT like going to the dentist. However, some severe pain from a broken tooth made it necessary to suck it up and submit to the drill once again. I found Mirelez Wellness Dental here on Yelp and left a message. They called me back first thing next business day and got me right in. I'm one of those white knuckle patients who starts to sweat and hyperventilate the minute I get in the chair, but everyone at this office is so kind that my anxiety was somewhat alleviated right off. When the doctor came in, he listened carefully to my concerns, reassured me that my comfort came first and foremost, and didn't make me feel embarrassed at all about being so nervous. Long story short, I got quite a bit of work done right off without ever wanting to jump up and flee because I felt very safe in his hands. I sure wish I'd discovered this place when I first moved here and now that I have, you couldn't get me to go anywhere else. I know I'll always have some anxiety but I also know I'm in good hands here. I'm actually looking forward to going back and getting things sorted out with my teeth once and for all. I cannot say enough great things about this office! First of all, we are in an unusual situation with Covid-19. I called in this morning and the girls that answered my call were so compassionate. They could hear the pain in my voice and the need for an emergency appointment. Although they were full today, they went above and beyond to get me in. The office is so safe - only allowing one patient at a time in the waiting room. (Thanks for following guidelines.) it is clean, every employee was so friendly and helpful. Very thorough cleaning and exam. However, it is EXTREMELY expensive and they don't bill you what your insurance doesn't cover until months afterwards. They also give false estimates about what your insurance will cover. The estimate has never been even close to accurate for any of my visits and once I got a bill in the mail almost a year later. I just moved to Fresno and needed a new Dentist. My husband has been with Dr Mirelez for years. This is by far the best dental office I have ever been to. Every aspect of this place is amazing. The staff are consistently friendly and professional. The office in general has a calm, relaxing vibe. They make the treatment as comfortable for the patient as possible. I went in today to get some fillings. They constantly made sure I was ok throughout the appointment. I could stop and take a break without feeling like I was annoying them. Been a patient here for years, until recently. I questioned their high charges they quoted me for an implant that is needed and called my insurance with my concerns. I discovered Dr. Mirelez's office isn't PPO which is why their fees are so high, even for routine/preventative care. This explains why they always pushed extra services down my throat which weren't necessary and why co-pays were so high. It makes me so angry now. And the office manager (although she is nice) tries to play with numbers which appears to be their way of "getting the most out of your benefits" so that it can seem affordable, but really it's just a way for them to make it easier for you to pay their high fees by splitting up the cost. It reminds me of a car dealership here. Same sales tactics and pressure. While a patient, the staff was fairly nice and responsive. But once I told them I'd be switching dentists they became difficult. They tried scaring me into not switching by telling me I'd lose some of my benefits by visiting another dentist and should I want to come back to them the implant would cost more out of pocket. Well I don't plan on going back, I've found a good quality dentist well know for his work, he is PPO, and the implant is at a 1/3 of the cost Dr. Mirelez was going to charge. I'm glad I made the decision to switch. I won't recommend this office to anyone. read more
