These "stylist" are stuck up and overpriced-- $45 for a "blowout" and $15 extra for the hair wash, when that should be included with the blowout is crazy...... a TRIM is $45 for short hair. I went to this location this morning once they opened and my normal lady wasn't there so i wanted so bad to trust someone different and came out with a plucked eyebrow and one thinner than the other. That's not how I went in there. I called several times to speak with Daisy. They kept pushing me off so I came back up here. When I got here the original threader said she didn't see a problem and to keep my cool I simply asked someone else look at them. Daisy then comes and now I feel worse off than when I arrived, both times. There's still a pluck in my brow and now they look like two different eyebrows. I stopped coming to this place a long time ago because I feel they fell off and stopped caring about the service. Now I'm back to hunting for another threader because I keep running into my brows being chopped up. I posted pictures of my brows after the visit before this one and they now look nothing like that after I've taken the time to grow them and have them corrected. I'm pissed to say the least. I visited this Bombay location for the first time since COVID. I went to see Daisy because in the past she had always done a great job. (I stopped visiting this location due to the distance). I have thick brows and I'm very picky when it comes to getting them threaded or waxed. As expected Daisy was quick and gentle. The threading process isn't as bothersome as it is with others. I was pleased with the end results. One star is removed due to the upsell/cross-sell pressure that has not changed since the last time I visited. (I should only have to say no once) read more

I went to Jass. This is definitely a place where you either are familiar with who you go to or you gamble. Jass did beautiful work and she was also a delight to talk to. My friend's experience was not so great. She wanted a clean up around her eyebrows and felt like the lady didn't do anything at all. The shop is very clean and the atmosphere is comfortable. I would recommend Jass specifically. If you are particular about your brows, find you a tech here and stick with her. read more

The manager Daisy is horrible and make her employees look bad. I was not satisfied with the lash job and asked if amount paid could come off a Diamond facial. The manager puts Hershey up as her spokesperson and initially stated okay fine. After the facial she come back and say the manager stated no you will have to get lashes. First of all the lashes looked like crap and second of all you wanted the additional money for the facial. The way you treat not only Black Americans, but your own employees is ridiculous. I have been coming to this place for year with my mom and has always requested Daisy. For the past year I have been treated so poorly by the owner Daisy herself. I called to make sure she was there and when I got there she had already serviced someone and was at the front desk checking them out. After the lady was done, she walked off from the counter without even acknowledging me at all. When I signed my name and sat down another woman approached me and asked me what I needed and I told her only my brows and I want Daisy to do them. She said okay its going to be five minutes. So while I waited I could hear Daisy speaking in her native language and said something about me because her staff then laughed. I have been going to this location for several years. I always request Daisy, and she is usually very good. Today, however, must have been a bad day for her. She plugged my eyebrow and then blamed it on the person who threaded them before. That person was her. She then went on to say "whoever did them along time ago". Anyway, I asked for tint to cover up the plug and I asked her to not leave it on so long because it's always too dark. Bombay is a professional salon that offers a variety of services -- facials, threading, waxing, and hair. This is a recently opened store. Daisy, my stylist moved from the Cordova location to the Spottswood location & is now managing and working at the Spottswood location. I have been seeing Daisy for almost 4 years now, and even though this is a further drive - I would follow her ANYWHERE. She is professional and confident in her craft. With that being said the entire staff is accommodating and friendly. The new store is beautiful. It's clean and sophisticated. You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into it. The prices are better than any I've ever seen in Memphis and they even offer a variety of beauty products. The location is located right next to the Target on Colonial. Super convenient! First time coming in and Soni was so kind and helpful. I went in to try lip with thread and contemplated eyebrow threading since I wasn't fully grown out yet. She reassured me that she would only clean and double checked to make sure she understood. Once we got to lip, she asked if I was sure since threading is so painful in that area and even said she would recommend waxing since she has felt the pain. I ended up changing my mind. I had been here a few times before and loved how my lashes looked and lasted but after this last time(Tuesday, 1/9/24), I will not be coming back here. According to their site, Individual Lashes are $38 but once I got there, $5 were added and she picked up a pack of lashes to show me the lashes they had. I told her that she should update the site because the $38 was the reason I came. She appeared like she didn't care about what I was saying and she, along with another woman that was in the store started speaking in their language and I'm assuming they were talking about me. Since getting me lashes done, my right eye has been watering daily; becoming puffy and red. I can't even put my contacts in. It's been irritating me this whole time. The ladies are rude and do not care about their clients. I am disappointed and I do not recommend this location. It is the Cordova location in the shopping center off of Germantown Pkwy. Go somewhere with loving energy ladies and correct pricing. Go somewhere you will be appreciated and greeted with a smile and loving energy. You won't get that here. read more

I visited this location around a week ago. It's new, they were clearly slow and eager to get my services started. I went in for a simple eyebrow threading and upper lip wax (my usual). I, however, got coaxed into tinting my eyelashes and my eyebrows "because they would look better done together." Not mad about the brows, they looked good for a few days. Couldn't tell a difference with my lashes. Won't waste money on either in the future. Now the review: I paid $40 for my services. According The the brochure: $10 eyebrow threading, upper lip is not posted under waxing services, and eyebrow tint is $15. the brochure says "eyebrow tint is $15 (with eyebrow $20) -- which doesn't make sense at all. Typo? I received a phone call later once I had gotten home. It was the salon telling me they had forgotten to charge me for the wax. She said don't come back up there if I can't but they'll just add it to my account for next time. I do not think this is good customer service. Yes, I understand I had the service done, but do not call me about your $5 mistake. If this new location is itching for every little $5, I hope it is able to survive. Final thoughts. When I go to a salon for services, I want it to be as relaxing as possible. The salon was new and fresh, nicely decorated and some kind of low key, not English music playing from a phone. But when the esthetician is in my face, showing another one what she is doing, I do not want an unknown language to be spoken. On occasion you come in and someone was smart enough to make an appointment... no worries, the wait is never very long . Would give 0 stars if I could. I needed a haircut before a trip for work and found the cheapest place near me, which was Bombay. My hair is literally so easy to cut, and so low maintenance. I asked for a trim / V cut, so it would be a little bit longer in the back. I communicated this very clearly to the hair stylist, and she seemed to understand. She then proceeded to cut my hair so that it was longer in the front. I couldn't really tell when I was in there, but I already knew I wasn't happy with it so I decided to just pay and leave because I didn't want her messing it up even more. I get home and look at the back, and it wasn't even a V cut. She attempted to cut my hair straight across in the back but did a terrible job at it. There were pieces of hair noticeably longer than others and the pieces of hair on the underside of my head were longer than the top. Some kind of terrible attempt at layers? When I didn't even ask for layers?? All around terrible. I had to pay for another haircut at a different place just to fix it. Which sucks because by now it's a lot shorter than I would have liked it to be originally. Honestly it's my fault for choosing the cheapest place, I guess you really get what you pay for. They may be good at waxing (I'll never know bc I'll never be back) but do not trust them with your hair. Even straight, easy-to-cut hair. 100% not worth it. read more

I've gone here multiple times and had good work. Today was a disaster. The new young lady began threading and at some point decided she wanted to make my eyebrows thinner on one side. She stopped so that I could see and I was aghast!!! She apologized and said she didn't mean to make them so uneven and then she asked for payment. I went back for eyebrow threading and had another great experience so today I decided to get my hair done. I've been coloring my hair for years and this was hands down the best highlights I've ever had. The cut was awesome, but the color blew me away. I've found my salon!
