Went to Misimi - Hibachi | Asian Fusion | Sushi | Bar and had a really nice experience. The ambience truly gives an Asia-like vibe -- very warm and welcoming. It was a bit tricky to find at first since the restaurant is on the second floor, but if you take the left-side drive, you'll get there easily. Food highlights: Tom Yum Soup: Really good, mild spice level which made it enjoyable. Kani Salad: Absolutely awesome. Crab Rangoon: Yummy and crispy. Shrimp Roll: Wow -- very fresh and tasty. Misimi Roll (Tuna & Avocado): Delicious and well balanced. Drunken Noodles: Flavorful and satisfying. Desserts: Yuzu Cheesecake: Light, citrusy, and refreshing. Japanese Tempura Ice Cream: So good -- perfect sweet finish. Overall, the food felt fresh and relatively healthy, the atmosphere was lovely, and the experience was worth it. Would definitely visit again!

My wife wanted sushi and wanted to go to Red Lotus but we didn't know when we wanted to go so couldn't make a reservation so decided to come here instead. We got there about 7:15 on a Saturday night and had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table which was reasonable enough. Service was fair, not awful, not great. We got a mix of different sushi rolls. The eel avocado wasn't great. Couldn't taste the eel and the avocado was a little under ripe. Shrimp and sweet potato tempuras were decent but pretty standard. Sexy Jalapeño with crab wasn't really sushi, but was excellent. I was worried for my stomach when it came out, but wasn't nearly as spicy as I was expecting it might be. Would definitely order this again. My wife got the beef udon noodles which were very good as well. Would definitely come back here.

Delicious night out with friends at Misimi. The amount of food for the price is insane! And everything is delicious! My friend and I started at the beautifully decorated bar while we waited for the rest of our party and the bartender was nice and made a great drink! After we headed to our table for the standard hibachi experience. We also ordered some tasty garlic edamame and some yummy sushi rolls to share (definitely not needed but worth every bite!) For the hibachi I ordered the Salmon and chicken, both of which were yummy. I'm excited for my leftovers too! Our chef was kind and super fun, sure to give attention to everyone at the table. I'll definitely be back the next time I am doing a group dinner. Yummy!

I can't believe I live so close and never knew about Misimi until recently! This hidden gem is tucked in the back of a bigger plaza on a pretty main road. We will definitely be becoming regulars here! With so many Asian fusion options on the menu, there's always something different to try. The homemade crab Rangoon and Duck Bao bun specials were definitely stand outs. We have high expectations when it comes to bao buns, and they passed our test with being fresh and fluffy! Not only were we impressed by the food, but the ambiance was beautiful here too. It's one of the nicest spots to go for hibachi in the area I would say! We also had a fantastic server who went out of her way to recommend the garlic aioli for dipping with our bao bun, and it was a game changer. Great deals for lunch and happy hour as well. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Sesame Chicken Spicy Roll Combo, White Rice, Miso Soup, side salad, side of crispy tofu squares

Tried them again and got more kitchen food this time. Sesame chicken was very nice and I like that it wasn't swimming in sauce. The tofu squares came with a good dipping sauce and made for a nice plant based appetizer. Rice, soup and salad were all about what I was expecting. Spicy tuna, salmon and kani rolls were all very good. So this place easily keeps its 5. Looking back, my previous 4 for Wild Kanji was too harsh. I'll rectify that with an update, but now there are two amazing Asian restaurants in Shelton!

My sister and I love Misimi. This is our spot for when we need a quick vent out session after a long week. The vibes are great and we always get a sense of peace and tranquility when we are there. Our go to is always their sushi. (But we've had their hibachi and it's also incredible). We probably tried all their sushi and love them all. My personal fav is the split rock volcano roll. Service is always consistent and everyone is super kind. We will continue to return and 100% recommend.

AMBIANCE - on the nicer side with the booths being U Shaped and comfortable seating for sure. The color scheme was on the red side. Hence the name I guess LOL. The broth was creamy and smooth like a typical Tonkotsu Broth but the added spiciness really removes or supresses the comforting part of this dish. I mean this in the best way possible, it was delicious and now I will be adding spice to my Tokotsu Ramen that I order from a place much more local to me. The broth also was not too salty which was sometimes an issue with me ordering Tonkotsu Ramen in the past. The pork slices were nice and thin and had a nice texture to it as well. The noodles were not overcooked either. A very well done Ramen dish. I decided to order the Butabura Donburi to go. This consisted of a pork rice bowl with caramelized soy sauce, scallion, tamago and sesame seeds. The pork was cooked perfectly and this dish was full of savory flavors. The rice was also "QQ" as some asians would say. For translation just think of QQ for rice the same as Al Dente for pasta. Learning new things every day, will probably be my last time saying QQ but this rice was QQ, straight out of a Zojirushi Rice Cooker. Anyways, before I get too deep into things only Asians would understand or care about, Terayama was quite the perfect stop for me in my long drive to get my computer fixed. All their food was done right and it was just the perfect place to stop in to get welcomed by knowledgeable and comforting staff on a cold day. Quite the hole in the wall but I'm glad I found it. Until the next time Terayama. Keep it QQ.

You could tell moms were being celebrated everywhere, families were out enjoying themselves, and despite the crowd, the atmosphere still felt fun and lively instead of stressful. They offer an all-you-can-eat menu with a huge variety of sushi, seafood options, and buffet station, which definitely felt worth the price considering how much food is available. Without a reservation, the wait looked pretty long, so I'd definitely recommend calling ahead on holidays or weekends. Even with how crowded it was, the service stayed good throughout the night. The ordering system uses tablets at the table, and because of how busy it was, a few of my orders didn't go through the first time. I mentioned it to our server and he immediately addressed the issue, made sure I reordered everything, and continued checking in to make sure our food was arriving correctly. I also appreciated how accommodating the staff was. I asked for a chicken sushi roll and they made one for me I did have to reorder the seafood boil before receiving it, but the servers stayed attentive, communicated with us, and handled concerns professionally the entire time. What stood out most was that despite the chaos, everyone still seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff was clearly working hard, but they stayed friendly and attentive throughout the Mother's Day rush. Overall, the food was good, the vibe stayed positive, and it still ended up being an enjoyable holiday dinner with friends and family. Coming in on a quiet Monday afternoon I sat at the Sushi bar and ordered a Salmon Toro Tartare, Sashimi Dinner, Tiger Roll, one order of Sashimi Madai and a hot tea. The customer service experience was just as off putting as I had remembered, the server making me feel rather unwelcome and bothersome as one of only three patrons dining which was a very uncomfortable feeling as a customer dining alone. The Sushi and Sashimi themselves were of some of the lowest quality I've had, absolutely comparable to any AYCE sushi restaurant. I was very disappointed to say the least, extremely over saturated, moist, falling apart texture and a lacking in vibrant color. The flavor profiles of course where just as you'd expect from what's been described and to note these have to be the smallest slices of Sashimi I have ever been given and first time received 1 piece in a à la carte Sashimi order. The "Madai" or "Red Snapper" they advertise is Izumi Dai a farm raised Tilapia. Overall, I feel it hard to find many positives to take from my experience at I Sushi House, it seems like some sort of mistake this has become one of if not they highest rated sushi restaurant in the area amongst some of the finest establishments in the state. The cost to meal ratio was overpriced and extremely under quality, the dish's lacked in preparation, presentation or passion and the service made me feel unwelcome. 4.1/10 can't fathom this establishment being ranked as highly as some of what is available in this area.
