i wanted to like this place. But everything was off. The kung pao chicken seemed to have used someone's leftover general tso chicken. it's not supposed to be breaded and doused in soy sauce. The vegetables were diced so large, there was no effort in them preparing the meal. The hot and sour soup was also off. Wont be coming back. Decided to try a different Chinese restaurant then we are used to. What a mistake! I was surprised at how many people were waiting in line. I thought it would be pretty good when I got at home and took a bite of the general Tso's chicken. It was way too sweet. When I took a bite of the boneless pork ribs. They were burnt and super salty. When I went to try the steamed dumplings, I noticed the dough was very chewy and thick. Not like we are used to. To top it off the dough was clearly raw inside. I like to finish my Chinese food off with a nice eggroll. However, this eggroll was orange inside and filled with carrots who puts that many carrots inside an egg roll? What up with that? Anyways, I was very unsatisfied. I called the restaurant and they told me I had to bring the nasty food back to get a credit. Everyone is fairly layback and you know you will not be pressured in anyway while eating here. I have my usual coconut shrimp. And oh my, let me tell you, probably one of the best coconut shrimp I've ever had. For a person like me who has a big appetite, oh boy am I in for a treat. The portion is generous and the quality is above average. If you're hungry and looking for decent quality Asian fusion food without breaking your wallet, I recommend you take a look. I've eaten here a few times over the years. They're definitely middle of the road when it comes to quality of an Asian restaurant. That said, the food is tasty, and hot, although forgettable after a day or so. The staff is friendly (even if English is obviously their second language) and I always feel like they're actually glad to see me. The decor is sparse,and tired looking, and not a place where you will enjoy sitting. I never feel like I want to eat there. I always have the food to take away, as do about 98% of their customers. We use this chinese restaurant for a quick take out. Food is decent and the portions are pretty good.

Every week or two my friend and I order salmon hand-rolls, eel and cucumber hand-rolls, and eel and avocado hand-rolls from them for dinner. The rolls are so very good. I've been eating sushi since 1991 and these rolls are top notch. The cuts of salmon and eel peaces in the rolls are generous, tender, and fresh. The rice is perfect. The soy-sauce they use is very good. That may seem like a small point but they really have very good soy-sauce. I feel so lucky to be able to order takeout from there being so good and only up the road. They make living in Monroe that much better. read more
