If you're looking for a cake for a decent price, Shirley's business is a great option! I found her through Yelp and inquired on her website. At first I was thinking of getting a custom cake but I quickly realized it was out of our budget--from all vendors, too. I guess I was a little naive in custom cake pricing. If only we had more $$ to drop for our son's bday but priorities!!! Nonetheless, Shirley was able to accommodate my budget and gave me the option of a plain cake with a custom topper. My son's been obsessed with MUNI buses and trains lately so I told her that either one would work. We communicated back and forth through email and Shirley was very prompt in responding. I paid the deposit and the amount due before the time frame. Note that I inquired around the same month of the event date, so somewhat late to the game in planning (I have a feeling some people plan two months in advanced because custom cookies and cakes usually are booked way out in advanced) but it still worked out for me! On the morning of, I picked up the cake and it looked amazing! Shirley's cake tasted great! She let me know that the MUNI bus topper was edible except the label. We chose to have a vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream filling and it tasted amazing! I forgot to take photos of the cross section but this cake was pretty darn yummy. The only feedback I have is that her typed responses can be more formal, with punctuation and less use of acronyms... which will help seem more professional and clear! However I understand that it's her way of expressing herself and it's been working for her... so to each their own, it just irked me as someone who teaches writing! read more

Update: This cake was delicious! I shared with four other people and I have to say that it was soooo moist! I also had a good amount of cake left over as well. And the flavor of the cream cheese filling was amazing! I really loved how sweet the frosting was. All the flavors really tied in well with each other! The frosting was super super soft and creamy, it was very thick and my boyfriend really loved the gritty sorta taste of the boarder frosting. Every bite was like heaven. read more

I recently ordered a cake from here for my friends birthday. I was very hesitant about completing this task for her since I only had about a two week timeline. I found Miss Chan Chan and I contacted her via email right away. The response time was quick and I asked her if she could make a duplicate of the cake I had seen on her page. Within a day or so with exchanging email, I was able to book the cake and for the size I needed. On the day of pick up, I had picked up the cake and it was exactly as pictured. I ended up picking the red velvet with cream cheese butter cream. My friend was really surprised with the cake and she loved it a lot. It also taste amazing and all my other friends loved it as well. read more

We discussed this since March 13 , the details . Money is not problem but the horrible customer service in not providing response to"let me get back to you on tues" and the courtesy to say it cannot be completed since that day but the very last minute. And the last time my cookies were made in a rush and late beyond the time we discussed got blurred and smear out for his name . Moreover , I'm glad this lead me to somebody else that can coordinate and organize better. read more

AMAZING! I found Shirley on yelp and I'm so excited I went through miss chan chans for my daughter second birthday party! I sent my inspiration picture for a bunny themed birthday cake and she matched it perfectly. She was so sweet to work with and the cake was delicious! She also delivered to our location in San Mateo for an added fee which was convenient. We did a Vanilla funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream frosting with matching cupcakes which was a huge hit! Shirley is amazing. I was tasked with finding a traditional peach longevity cake for a birthday and I came across Miss Chan Chan Kitchen! I ordered a cake and cupcakes from her and all were OUTSTANDING! From start to finish Shirley was so accommodating and flexible from changing the design and flavor last minute, to accommodating an every changing drop off time. The final cake turned out so amazing, I will try and add photos to this review eventually because it was truly a work of art. On top of looking amazing, the cake also was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten! It was so moist, not too sweet, and there was not one slice or cupcake leftover. Shirley made my son a dinosaur cake for his 2nd birthday. She was very reasonable in terms of price and very responsive when we were going back and forth in terms of me getting the specs of what I wanted. I had only a vague idea of what I wanted which probably made the process a little more difficult, but she was still able to come up with a nice design with the few inspiration pictures I was able to send her. The cake came out looking great and tasted delicious and the 10" cake that we got was more than enough to feed the ~30 guests that we had. Everyone was very impressed! read more

My wife and I were looking for a cake for our son's 100 day celebration. We saw all the amazing pictures from Miss Chan Chan Kitchen and decided to use her services. Shirley is quite responsive to emails and very accommodating to decorate our cake to fit our theme and son's clothing. We were pleasantly surprised that she even got the details on the shirt too. Our guests enjoyed talking lots of pictures of our son with the cake. I personally enjoyed how the vanilla coffee cake with mocha buttercream turned out too as it was moist and flavorful. With only a few days notice, Shirley was able to get a rush order birthday cake for my mother's 75th birthday lunch. My mom was so impressed and simply delighted. The way her eyes lit up was very memorable. Later she said "I loved it, I loved it"! She also enjoyed the taste and density of the cake. I contacted Miss Chan Chan only a couple weeks before I needed cake and cookies for a Bridal shower. Super happy she was able to squeeze me in. Cake came out exactly how I requested and it was deeelicious! Lots of compliments from our guests as to how moist and tasty it was without being overbearingly sweet. I do not appreciate false information. I messaged her expressing my disappointment the following morning at 8:04 AM. Not days after. I had to pick it up late at night because of my flight. I thanked her, but I was unable to see the details until later. It was getting late, and I put more thought into it before sending a message that included a picture. The cake could've shifted a bit during the car ride, but there was no significant damage or change. Nonetheless, I was thrilled to receive the cake because that's how much it mattered. She took the time to make the lettering like the Star Wars films to the detail on BB-8. She really spent a lot of time constructing! Shirley is easy, flexible, and a pleasure to work with. I had a red egg and ginger party for the welcoming of my son and the cake turned out better than I imagined! I loved the rustic, simplicity, and attention to details on my baby Eeyore cake with my son's name on the building blocks. I opted for the coffee cake with mocha cream for the baby Eeyore cake. I wanted the naked cake style with buttercream instead of fondant. The contrast between the cake and Eeyore was perfect; the color of the cake did not overpower or muted the overall look. As for taste, I prefer the coffee and mocha to be more pronounced in flavor. The cake was more like chocolate but was super moist and the cream wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed. I also ordered a half sheet of Oreo cake. The ratio of filing was definitely more on this cake and was sweeter. You can definitely tell it was Oreo with the cream cheese frosting. I secured the date, made a payment, and sent her inspo pics and on the day of, she arrived on time and delivered the most beautiful cakes I could've dreamed up! The first time I worked with her, it was a simple sun themed cake and the second time I asked for a fairy-woodland inspired cake. Both were so good and were the centerpieces for our dessert table. I also ordered smash cakes from her, which were also really good even though they are made from really simple ingredients - my guests enjoyed both! lol. It was a perfect extra curricular for her during lockdown and she learned so much virtually. They had virtual showcase and the kids learned the dances just though the screen and to me that was amazing. Teachers Fue and Jackie are very patient to the kids. Now that Manuia has been open in person, they were able to do in person shows lately, one of which was in Chase Center for the Warriors Polynesian Heritage Night. That was a very memorable experience for my daughter. Not only that she's learning different dances, coming out of her shell and is more confident, but Manuia is like a family to us. She's making new friends and the amazing team: Auntie Camille, Uncle Tommy, lovely teachers Fue and Jackie and the rest of the Manuia teachers and drummers are very welcoming and talented in more ways than one.

Even though we were stalled on booking our games (due to the Venue needed to help with the layout), Luiza was still openly optimistic about helping us and in the end we got all the games we wanted. We opted for Ring Toss, Giant Checkers and Clowning Around (Bean Bag Target type of game - see photo). Except for the Giant Checkers, the prices are fairly reasonable. Please note that someone else may think that the price was reasonable...it's all subjective. Here's What I Think.... They have a ton of games from which to choose. If you're in the market for arcade/carnival type games, please give them a try.
