Every room showcases incredible craftsmanship, from the original woodwork and stained-glass windows to the elegant fireplaces, antique furnishings, and period décor. I found myself slowing down just to admire all of the details--it's a photographer's dream. The gardens are just as charming as the interior, offering a peaceful place to relax before heading out to explore the city. Inside, the common areas feel warm and inviting, making it easy to imagine what life was like here more than a century ago. What I appreciated most was that The Empress isn't simply a place to spend the night--it's an experience. If you enjoy architecture, history, boutique accommodations, or unique bed and breakfasts, you'll find plenty to love here. There is alot of room for the toddler to burn off energy. The host are gracious, warm, and kind. Our room was secluded with private entrance and back exit to the beautiful backyard and courtyard. Slumber was heavenly. The breakfast was bacon, any style eggs, hash brown casserole, coffee, mimosas, etc. We will plan a stay anytime we visit. Amazing decadent breakfast - homemade quiche, French toast, fresh sausage, veggie omelette, fresh squeezed OJ, and always a yummy baked treat to go along - and fresh fruit to accompany. My only regret is not having more time to spend enjoying the patio and garden. Will have to sneak out of work early one of these days to relax and read (and try to make friends with the house cat)!

It's not fancy, and it's a little worse for the wear in some areas, but perfect for a restful layover in Little Rock.
