It suggests that their decision making may be faulty about patients' care if they still deem that DOUBLE masks are still needed. Hearing Aids Charged $6,000 for hearing aids. Guaranted me would not fall out. Fell 2nd day. Said refund within 45 days if requested He kept saying let me try some thing else. When I lost the hearing aid I had to pay for insurance No refund and said I would have to buy a new one. He said I was doing it wrong. went to Costco and identical hearing aids for $1500.00 No charge for loss and no charge for insurance. He could not connect my hearing aids to hi app, Costco did in 5 minutes. He is in Mission Viejo. read more

Narcissistic ex-husband cranked up the volume in the car obnoxiously loud just to listen to his own "originals" (out of tune, irrelevant, ugh). I'll blame him. Another factor could be the volume on my Sony Walkman was really too loud in my ears.. Whatever, my hearing sucks. My forever husband (right, honey?) has translated for me for over 3 years. Covid masks make it more difficult to lip read (but please wear your mask!) . I've learned the ASL alphabet, but no one else knows it. That's just not gonna work. So FINALLY I made an appointment to see an audiologist. Lucky me, I chose Mission Audiology. I requested an appointment on the website, and the the office responded that Monday. Appt made. :D The receptionist was so nice! And Dr. Datuin was too. It was fun looking at my audiogram results. I immediately began humming "aiint no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low..."). The funnest part was trying on the hearing aids (kinda like looking for cute shoes ). Took a while for me to choose my color. "Why CAN'T I have the teal ones?? Darn it, those are for kids.? But my ears are tiny, Dr. Datuin! Okok so maybe not. So I chose a pair of hearing aids. Maybe I'll post one off those heartwarming videos of hearing for the first time. It would be a video of my husband sobbing. . No longer will he hear me shouting "What? WHAT? What did you say? Huh?? You need to look at me when you're talking!!!" I received an ad from mail about the Mission Audiology offering a free hearing test... I have had some noice in my left ear for several months now. So I decided to try it. Dr. Datuin helped me.. after he gently removed an inch long ear wax with skin, I felt much better! I decided not to take the test today. Dr. Datuin was never pushing.. My hearing loss became such an issue that my children told me to go get checked out as I was always asking, "What?" and too often asking them to tell me what was said at the movies, on TV, restaurants and anywhere there was background noise. I looked online, made a few phone calls and ended up in Mark Datuin's office. Mark had me go through an involved battery of tests and afterwards went through all of the results in detail and clarity that made it easy for me to understand what the situation was - I needed help with my hearing. Mark did a great job in explaining what was needed and what my options were. He made the recommendations but had me make the final decision on what hearing aids to order and also provided direction on financing options which was needed as hearing aids are a big purchase. What was most notable during the whole process was Mark's response to my requested numerous adjustments as I am a picky consumer, especially when it comes to my health. Mark made physical and soft adjustments and got the best settings for my needs. Overall, very satisfied. A complete disappointment. The parking situation is ridiculous with cars are parked in areas they shouldn't be and is a complete mess. They have a valet service but who wants the hassle? Then there's the receptionist. This is an audiology practice therefore people are HEARING IMPAIRED. But, the receptionist in her infinite wisdom is wearing a mask and yet there is no one in the waiting room and I am the only person present standing several feet away from her. Really? (1) the pandemic is over; (2) the CDC specifically exempts people who are hearing impaired, and those communicating with the hearing impaired, from wearing a mask; (3) the facts and evidence are clear that masks do NOTHING - but the brainwashed receptionist is wearing one anyway. I asked her to remove the mask and got an attitude "eye rolling" response - but she removed it. By this point, it is obvious that this is not going to work out. Horrible parking and an attitude from the receptionist who failed to make me welcome. I cancelled the appointment and left. read more

I went here to get ear molds for ear plugs. He was very thorough and answered my questions. I paid cash and was in and out of there in 20 minutes or so. The office is older looking and the doctors desk looked like a bit like a scientist's desk. For what I went there for, the job was thorough. I separately called to bring my daughter there as on yelp the doc's statement said they did pediatric but it turns out they don't do pediatric. read more

Twice I have taken in my Starkey hearing aids for service, and twice they have refused payment, saying "it only took a few minutes." Most places charge $100 just to look at them, on top of any repair costs. These are wonderfully nice, caring and compassionate people and I highly recommend them. At 41, I have been suffering from constant, debilitating tinnitus for almost 2 years. After an ENT dr. told me "It's likely due to hearing loss. Learn to live with it or we can prescribe antidepressants if you can't handle it" I did some research and sought a second opinion. Mission Audiology was AMAZING! They took me seriously, treated me warmly and professionally, performed a battery of tests that confirmed my high frequency hearing loss, and then proposed a multitude of treatment options to attack the tinnitus from every angle! One of those options included hearing aids with built-in masker. As soon as I put on the samples, my tinnitus stopped, and the masker was not even running yet! The aids were tuned for my frequency loss, and when I could hear those sounds again, my brain stopped trying to fill the void. I still need the masker sometimes, but mostly use them without it. So, yes, I am a 41 year old with hearing aids, but they are so small, most people don't notice them (not that I care). My quality of life has drastically improved, and I can enjoy silence again. I purchased my hearing aids almost 5 years ago from Mission Audiology. I was able to actually test drive a pair before purchasing. What a concept. Before spending thousands of dollars on a pair of hearing aids without knowing what help they will be. I was ready to purchase hearing aids 2 previous times, but was not able to try them out before and decided against it. So I and my friends and family suffered for a few more years, until I found Mission Audiology! It has been a truly life changing experience. My hearing is greatly improved and I can be part of the conversation when out in public again. The amazing thing is that they still will do an annual hearing test and adjust and clean my hearing aids for free after 5 years! I just had a full hearing exam at Mission Audiology with Dr Mark Datuin and I am both pleased and impressed with the care and and patience he showed me during the exam.He took the time to completely answer all of the questions I had and often had a visual display to help me understand more clearly.Never did I feel that he was rushing me to get to his next appointment. After my examination he was able to make adjustments to my hearing aids that have resulted in being able to turn down both my tv and my aids significantly. The clarity has improved greatly. And...they will do everyting to ensure that you leave completely satisfied. I knew that my hearing was getting worse and worse, but I just kept putting it off, not wanting to recognize that will getting a little older, certain body parts start to wear out. Thanks to Dr. Sullivan, I have been wearing my hearing aids for two weeks now and I cannot believe that I was so stupid as to put it off. I had a hearing test performed by Dr. Burnett, which indicated no hearing problems! I still felt sensitive during concerts and while watching action movies, so she suggested I have earplugs made to block loud sounds but would allow for conversations. She fitted me for the earplugs. Dr. Burnett was gentle and careful as she took my fitting. After I received my earplugs I have been able to enjoy movies and concerts much more than in the past! Dr. Rachel Burnett and Staff were very professional, knowledgeable, personable, and helpful during my visits. At the insistence of my wife and daughter, I visited their office in Mission Viejo for a hearing assessment. After completing the assessment, Dr. Rachel told me that I was a marginal candidate for hearing aids and began asking me some probing questions about my lifestyle, work environment, what I was experiencing, and even asked me if I thought I needed hearing aids. I honestly believed that my family was crazy - I didn't need hearing aids! I was too young for "a crutch" like that. But as I answered Dr. Rachel's questions, I realized that I often asked people to repeat themselves, became frustrated trying to understand normal conversation, and often didn't engage in conversation because I couldn't follow along. Being honest with myself, I realized I was a candidate for hearing aids. After receiving my hearing aids, I couldn't believe what I had been missing. My wife notices that I am far less frustrated when in conversation with others. My daughter said that I was finally participating in conversations whereas before I would have been a bystander. I notice that I can hear birds sing, hear my turn signal blinker (irritating), and that muffled world I once lived in is gone. The best part is that no-one even notices that I am wearing hearing aids. Although they fit behind my ear and connect to the ear inserted speaker by a thin wire, they are practically invisible. After considering two other dispensers, I selected Mission based upon an initial meeting with Dana Ryan. Dana has received recognition from Starkey for her volunteer work in foreign countries and is quite personable. At the time (7/2014) the office person (Jan?) provided excellent service. Subsequently this office person has left; even before this, the office declares their office hours to be 9-5...don't count on it. On another occasion the office was to be closed for a week vacation but limited hours were available on request. I personally went to the office during the period because no one was answering the phone. I have subsequently called and no one answers. Leave a messaage and no one calls. The young lady on the front desk (as of 4/6/2015) is unpleasant, no smile, and leaves the impression that a customer (patient) is disturbing her. On the positive side, the office is nicely appointed and Dana provides superior service if or when you can reach them on the phone and/or they decide to return a call. In short, the professional service of testing and adjusting is great but the office people are a disaster thus making the experience an unpleasant one. read more
