The food is delicious. We had pulled pork sandwiches and Mac and cheese. However the service is just as good. Matt who is the manager is absolutely topnotch. He visits each table to check on everyone. The young man who took our order asked my husband if he had served. The in-law, fiancé, and I had the pleasure of stumbling in on a Monday afternoon. We entered and were immediately greeted by Jana. The cashier, Dawn, walked us through the menu since it was our first time visiting. I opted for the delicious ribs. No sauce, please... that good! Omg! The bbq smell hits you from outside!!! Everyone has been telling me to visit and I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only was the food YUMMY amd FRESH, but the entire mission is dedicated to veterans amd people in the military!!! That is such an admirable initiative to utilize their ENTIRE restaurant to honor those who serve our country. 5 stars JUST for that!!! Half bird waa DELICIOUS!! The rub had flavor without being spicy. Every table has 6 flavors of bbq sauce if you want to take if up a notch! The leg and thigh were the juiciest. The breast waa good but a tad dry. The burger waa soooo good!!! Fries crispy amd flavorful. Mashed potatoes chunk amd homemade!!! Sooo good. Potato salad waa like the kind you make at home!!! Sooo good. Wasn't a fan of the nac and cheese. Need to make it more cheesy amd less feeling of a sauce. The brisket was good, tender. Could have been more flavorful. Salmon was super dry and tiny for $17.49 without sides. Would not order that again. All the sides are separate from the meats...like an a la carte style menu. Meat comes w a piece of cornbread, but goodness was that cornbread dry, even w butter. Need to work on that recipe. The chocolate chip cookies...YUM!!! As if made at home!!! The brownie too. My daughter had the banana pudding amd loved it. She has enjoyed the collard greens. The lemonade didnt impress me or the drink selection for the fountain. Service was FANTASTIC. Super kind and welcoming. Order what you want, find a table, and then sit and eat.Straight forward and fast. A staff member goes from table to table making sure everyone has what they need. Let me start this review by saying what a nice guy Matt is! He recommended we try the Alabama white sauce (amazing!) and gave us a complimentary brownie. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome! Everyone else we encountered here also greeted us with a smile and were working hard to keep the restaurant clean. The food was great! We had a brisket sandwich, fries; sliced brisket, pulled pork, Mac & cheese and a baked sweet potato. It all tasted great and we left full. This is my third or fourth time visiting this Mission BBQ at this location . I prefer the pulled chicken with a side dish. For the price you cannot beat it . The brownies are free and I always offer to pay for it . The atmosphere really makes you grateful for all the branches of the military active and non active . The first responders for all they do . When I go in there I feel serene it makes me feel good that I am supporting them. They are so very kind the workers and they make you feel special. No other eatery is like that . Food was excellent!!! First time there so we tried the 3 meat sampler, with Mac & cheese, baked beans and the loaded potato with brisket and a side of coleslaw. This was the best customer service I have ever experienced at a place like this. This was my first time visiting this location and all the staff were very helpful and super friendly.
