It was fun but our group was too big for such a small space. We needed two hints (but would have been able to solve it with just the one). She offered subtle but extremely helpful guidance and hints when we needed a nudge in the right direction. The Asylum room was engaging, challenging, and felt like a real old-timey mental hospital. There was so much attention to detail in the rooms and the challenges pushed us to think outside the box. Our group of 4 took on the Jackpot room and barely escaped, but we made it! The room was very fun, with a wide variety of puzzles to keep all levels engaged. As our first escape room in a while, it definitely took us a bid to get into the groove, and this room has some very well hidden cues that required hints. The environment was well-made and immersive, really getting you into the story. I had been wanting to try an escape room for a long time, so when the opportunity arose for me to plan a staff appreciation event, I thought, "Hey! Why not lock us all in a room for an hour...and why not do the hardest one??" Set in the basement of the Miller Textile building, we opened the door to a wonderfully mysterious setting. Fireplace, leather couches, chess, and other mini puzzles in the waiting room...it makes you feel like you're already in an Agatha Christie novel. We had all signed the electronic waiver that a staff member had emailed so when we got there we were ready to go. After a brief explanation from our very friendly clue giver, Liz, we set off to the Countdown room. It was an absolute blast (no pun intended)! We went into panic mode as we watched the time dwindle down, but ended up solving our puzzle with 3 minutes to spare. This was such a great event and I can't wait to do it again! read more

We had a mix of escape room veterans and newcomers in our group, and all were very happy with the experience. The room we did ("Jackpot") was very well done, and attention to detail was terrific. The waiting area was even a fun space, getting you in the mood with a haunted hotel sort of vibe, big leather couches and mini-puzzles while you wait. Our puzzle-master was entertaining and charming, prepped us very well, and gave us just the right amount of nudges during our room time, only resorting to a real hint when she saw we were going in the wrong direction. It's a fun location, located under Headflyer Brewing. The vibe of the waiting room feels like a speakeasy - dark and cozy. There's games and puzzles available to play while you wait for your room to be prepared. I played 1 game at Mission Manner in July 2021. This review is written by someone who has done quite a few escape rooms (throughout the US, Europe and South America). Alright ... here we go!!! (**NO SPOILERS**) Room: Jackpot Genre: Casino Heist Difficulty: 4.5/5 Room Design: 5/5 Quality of Puzzles: 4/5 Cons: Without giving anything away, I'll say one thing that really tests my patience in escape rooms is having to wait on electronics to solve a puzzle (I hate wasting precious time). Once we got the answer, we were off to the races. Another puzzle was very obscure & quite hidden (had to take a hint). Pros: Private Rooms (thanks, Covid!), Smooth Online Booking, Friendly Staff (shout out to Colin -- you are a wonderful game master), Great Theme Immersion. Overall: Well-designed, 3rd generation escape room that is very immersive -- the sounds and scenery make you feel like you're in Vegas! The puzzles fit the theme and most of them make sense. Linear game play. When you solve a clue, you know what to do with it. All of the puzzles are electronic - zero directional, letter or key locks. We got out with 2 of us (1 minute remaining) but I would say that it would probably be good for groups of 4. I was THRILLED that it was private bookings only -- I can't stand being paired with random (inexperienced/not the brightest) groups of people because the game doesn't go well. It was easy to find, parking was abundant and the directions to the room (once inside the business building) were well-labeled. Colin was a fantastic game master. The waiting room was so cool and reminded me of a Speakeasy. The lockers were great to secure our purses & phones before the game (optional--you can take your stuff into the room if you wish). They had some nifty shirts for sale by the check-in desk. If you play Jackpot, I suggest playing with 4 people max (anymore it would be very crowded). Tip: Be Observant. That is the only way to escape this room. I wish I would've had more time in the Twin Cities so I could've played their other rooms. When I come back to MN, I'll definitely stop by again! read more

Great birthday party for 13 year old and parent drivers! Did the Asylum and it was plenty challenging and girls had an amazing time.

So regardless of what this room was like, this business was getting five stars because it is the first room to do something I've always wanted to see: the lobby had a mini puzzle to do before/after!! It was super clever and exactly how I pictured an escape room lobby to be! A friend and I did the asylum room and it was excellent! The theme was very well done. There were several puzzles that were super creative and made you think quite a bit. For experienced players, two was definitely enough but I think for new players 3 would be the ideal group size. 4 might get a little crowded. read more

It's easy to find a date and time and pick a room and buy! I came here for a date and the staff were very nice along with our escape-mates! We had a great time and it was challenging but not TOO challenging meanwhile their clue system by walkie-talkie was also well appreciated! Oh my gosh! So fun! And so inexpensive! This was a Christmas gift for the family from my husband. Our 24 and 19 year old daughters and the two of us had a blast. The Asylum room was a perfect challenge for us. We worked together to figure out the clues and, with a few suggestions from the staff that was always accessible via walky-talky, we were able to make our way out! Mission Manor is amazing! From the moment you step in the door you can tell that the people who run this place are passionate about what they do! Upon arrival you step into a very cool waiting room with games and puzzles scattered throughout. There are lockers available free of charge for you to put your things in while you play. Before going in the staff gave my group of first timers a very helpful set of suggestions on how to complete an escape room without giving anything away about the room we were about to escape from! Our group chose the asylum room because it was our first time doing an escape room. What really made the difference for this experience were two things. The first is just how engrained you are into the story of the room you are in. The thought and planning that went into making the room, clues, puzzles, and all of the surprises along the way is completely evident! The second is the staff. Our group asked for one clue. The clue was given in such a way to make us work for it! Even as first timers we still escaped the room with 12 minutes to spare! Our group completed Jackpot, escaping the room and solving all the puzzles. This is a good experience for first-timers or people looking for a slower pace, but fell short of the mark for those of us that had a few more Escape Room experiences. This room is rated for 8 people, and our group of 6 was joined by 2 others. The group size was far too large, with many of Jackpot's puzzles coming one at a time. In multiple instances, our team was all working on the same puzzle because there was little else to do, and many of the puzzles weren't set up for 8 participants to collaborate on. Without spoiling the experience, one of the rooms simply can't fit 8 people, leaving half the team to wonder what is going on. Overall, it made the experience feel slow, which was surprising given the room is rated high on "adrenaline". It's also rated high on difficulty, though we collectively felt it was maybe a little too easy aside from 1-2 puzzles. Aside from the room, the staff was great, taking time to make sure our questions were answered both before and after the room. Reservations online were easy to make. read more

Clues did not correlate to the next lock. It was very random. The few logic based clues we decifered quickly. Would bot recommend. read more

SUCH an amazing escape room. Legitimately one of the best i've ever been to. We (2 of us) did the Jackpot room, which we were expecting to be so-so-- the theming was amazing, the puzzles were smart, and the room was high quality. Our hosts (we had 2 since there was a shift change inbetween) were super helpful and had a great energy level, which isn't something you always expect from any escape room. The price was great too-- such a good deal for what we got, so much better than some other nearby companies. Definitely coming back next time!! read more

We went as a corporate team building event to do the "Inheritance" room. It was SO fun and our whole team really enjoyed the experience after not seeing each other in person for 2 years! Had a great time in the Asylum room. (I have done Countdown as well previously and also enjoyed that) The staff hear are friendly and very helpful. They answered any questions we had and definitely seemed intent on making sure we had a great time. We had the last time slot of the night and they even offered to let us have a peek at the other rooms after we were done with ours. As for the rooms themselves, I thought the puzzles were very well thought out and integrated well with the theme of the room. There was nothing that seemed cheap or unfair. Mission Manor is so cool!!! As a first time escape room goer, I was thrilled about getting the chance to finally understand what this experience was like. My group all signed up and reserved our time online, and each of us took care of waivers before hand. As a result, we were able to just show up, check in, and go straight to our room. Before I go into the experience of the room, I just really appreciated how exciting and entertaining the staff at Mission Manor were. They made the experience that much better! We chose to do the Asylum room. As I said, this was my first escape room. I don't plan on giving any spoilers in my review! I am proud and happy to say we escaped within the hour (with about 5 minutes to spare). Without giving any details, Asylum had a ton of great riddles and puzzles for us to work through. None of them were extremely difficult, but they required us to really think and use all of the resources available to us. We were stuck once or twice due to technical difficulties, and were able to call a staff member to get something to work for us (or check on it for us) when we were stuck. They were able to help us without spoiling anything or getting us out of our zone. Once we completed the room, the staffer who was helping us went through all the clues with us; including any that we got that he was surprised about, or ones that we didn't pay enough attention to. It was awesome to hear that they actually just re-did the room, and made it a bit harder and added some puzzles as well. All in all, I would highly recommend! We will certainly be back. It's about $25 per person for the hour, but that includes the fully detailed experience and a picture that they post online for you. read more

It's hard to give a detailed review without giving away details-- which would totally ruin the fun. The staff greeted us warmly and explained everything we needed to know prior to entering the room. Furthermore, you have a means of communication once in the room, so you are able to receive hints. After we escaped-- yes, with 5 min left!-- an employee brought us back in and asked us if we had any questions regarding our experience, and even explained different aspects of the room, including recent additions. This place is great! I was looking for something to do special for my daughter's 17th birthday. We had previously had a blast at a escape room. I thought it would be a good surprise. I got us setup for the Inheritance room. We arrived early for our scheduled time. It turned out that we were the only ones and the room was ready. What fun we had! Each of us was able to solve different parts of the puzzle. It was a wonderful time. The rooms was well done. There were a bunch of challenges that really tested our creativity. Four of us did the Inheritance room yesterday. My wife and I have done 10-12 escape rooms in the last year, mostly here in the cities, and this ranks as one of the best! The room has a great story, the puzzles roll together very logically and it was very doable for just the four of us. Love their whole Manor theme from the time you walk in the door, makes it feel like there was a lot of thought, time and effort into making this a first class adventure! We did the newest room with a casino theme. Our group of four varied from very experienced to novice. The room had good challenges!!! Not the usual colored locks thing.... some puzzles required lots of thinking and teamwork. We used 1 clue and got out with like 30 seconds to spare!! The staff was super friendly and helpful.
