I particularly appreciated the vegan options on the menu. The owner, Jameson, who is incredibly talented has manifested a magical experience venue suitable for all ages. Food: the green beans were memorable! Drinks: death in paradise, dragon fury, and the old-fashioned were really remarkable. We will be back with friends to do the escape room and to taste the rest of your menu.

I'm torn between a 3.5 and a 4 on this one. It's a cool location with great ambience. Although we…read moredidn't try the food or drink, it looked good and I'd love to come back and try it. Having done a number of escape room in the past, I love that this place felt a bit more quirky and independent than some of those more "corporate" type rooms. This will be spoiler free here. We booked "The dreamscape". There was a puzzle that must be solved in the common hallways, using a prop, before you can enter the actual room. This was kind of neat but also served to bifurcate the experience. Outside the room and inside the room didn't really feel connected. It felt gimmicky and like busy work. I mean it was a neat way to enter the room in concept, maybe they could connect the two experiences better. Inside the room, the puzzles were very "station" oriented. You could complete the stations in any order to ultimately succeed. This was also different from other escape rooms I've been to that are very linear with one clue leading to another. This one was basically just a series of independent puzzles to solve. The difficulties varied, from very easy and immediately solved - to kind of overly complicated that really required you to think like the puzzle creator. You know how sometiems in a puzzle room when you get stuck and have to hit the button for help? Then you get the answer and you're like "that's genius? how cool?" or "I never would have thought of that! that's brilliant". It wasn't like that here. First, pushing the help button didn't really result in actionable help. As all the different "stations" were in use by members of our group, the cryptic and esoteric help tended to be just general, and not on the specific place and station we were stuck. Second, when getting the help and actually solving something it was like "really? that doesn't make any sense. How on earth would anyone do this on their own?". Overall, the family wants to go back. I liked the ambience and the eating options. I didn't really care for the communal outside-the-room experience. The particular room we chose is among the least favorite rooms I've ever done (the best one ever being the Harry Potter elder wand room over at Trapped Puzzle rooms - which I believe is a sister location of this business). So I would recommend the Lodge of Lazarus Crowe overall, but this particular adventure was a swing and a miss for me. Didn't particularly enjoy the theme, the designs, the puzzles, or the lack of clues when we needed them.

The space itself is minimal, with a small lobby to wait before entering your room! You are greeted by a game master who takes you to your room, sets you up, and makes sure you knew all the rules. Our game master was Mariam and she was very friendly. I wouldn't recommend a group larger than 8 for this specific room, as it was a bit tight and it's hard for that many people to stay engaged in the room's puzzles. The room wasn't as soundproof as I would have liked, as you could sometimes hear the other rooms in the facility which took you out of the story line. The puzzles were appropriately challenging, and the room was well set up. While the room might sound like a horror film, nothing about it was actually scary, so you can assure any hesitant guests that it won't terrify them! Overall, a really solid escape room location if you're into that sort of thing! Looking forward to returning to do another room soon!

It was well thought out and the puzzles/clues were diverse that success relied on all of our strengths. The first puzzle took us the longest but once the first lock was open it went rather quickly, especially when we were able to break apart the various tasks. While our room was a single room, there were plenty of things to solve. I have been in large, multi room escape rooms, and single rooms like this one and they both have their own benefits. For an hour long endeavor (we completed it in just over 43 minutes), it was perfect. It's really hard to share without sharing spoilers ... Our host was fantastic. At one point he did interject that only one person needed to do a task instead of all of us at the same time (think the game twister, haha)... but he gave very little commentary throughout, nor did we ask for any hints. It's also nice being in the mall as it provides opportunity to make a day of it... escape room for an hour, some shopping, and some food,
