They are cash only and price is dependent on how much stuff you have, oversized items, distance and what floor you are moving from and to. Next time I move, I'll be using Mambo again.

Call, agree on the date, go over some basic need to knows, and await their call the day of your move. That's it. I moved on a Wednesday morning. They arrived before 9am and I was SET UP in my apartment prior to 11:30am. It was honestly amazing. I was only moving a block away and I could tell they did everything they possibly could to ensure I stayed within the two hour minimum. The entire crew of three was so kind and helpful, and the entire experience cost me LESS than $400 without tip. In my opinion, a no brainer. I move again at the end of March (shudder) and will absolutely be using them again for my local move. Next time, I'll use boxes instead of moving totes, and ensure any larger pieces of furniture are already disassembled prior to them arriving (though they made short work of disassembling and reassembling my IKEA couch). Joseph immediately scheduled me for Sunday, August 31st, which was perfect. I was so relieved. Then I asked him if he had any access to a sofa that was maybe being disposed of by another client. Joseph called me immediately and put me in touch with a woman who wanted to get rid of a pretty decent sofa. He set this up and agreed to transfer it for a small fee. On top of being on time, he and his buddy loaded me up in less then an hour. I met them at the new apartment and they brought everything up. The couch was last and there were some really tense moments when we thought it wouldn't fit in the doorway. But they somehow, miraculously got the sofa through the door. I was so incredibly relieved and thankful I hired these guys. They were polite, neat, on time and on task. There was no upcharging me for anything, the price was a flat fee and they stuck to it. I would use this service again in a heartbeat. Joseph says he also transfers new furniture from a store and helps assemble it for a small fee (that's pretty darn reasonable). I hope to get a new dresser and maybe a small kitchen table and will definitely touch base with this moving service to get these items delivered and set up.

I then asked how to move forward - no answer for three days. On the third day I asked again if someone could please reach out and tell me the next steps and the reply, the next day was that they wanted to know my destination and inventory (ummmm you were given that originally). I again gave the destination pickup/drop off and full inventory list. That was three days ago, no response. Honestly, how can you be a reputable company when you don't respond to client requests? If the job was something they didn't/couldn't do, the least they could do is tell you instead of ignoring you. If this is how they respond in the beginning then how are they going to be with managing your move? Danger, danger Will Robinson.

Nate sent me numbers and said everything had to be packed up and ready to go for his team. I asked if they could do one thing - wrap my furniture in blankets - and he answered "no, it's our policy not to wrap the furniture with pads prior to putting them in the truck, as it makes it very difficult to carry the items. I apologize that we won't be able to meet your specific needs and we will not be able to move you." I emailed him back, said I'd be OK with that (even though it wasn't ideal for me), and I haven't heard back. This was 4 days ago. Being a business owner myself, this is not how you treat a repeat customer. Based on this poor experience I would not recommend Smooth Moving Pros.
