I called with a small job (as their website says all jobs large and small, and many of the other reviews here mention small jobs). However, I was told immediately that they don't do small jobs. I am very sad at their dismissal of my project and seemingly different treatment of specifically this job in contrast to the other reviews here. Definitely a 1 star. read more

I was referred to this establishment by a business acquaintance a week ago after asking around for recommendations for printing services. Mind you this person never actually used Mission Printer's services, but he "heard" that they were good, red flag number one. After visiting their professional looking website, I decided to call them and see about having my cards printed. I asked the woman on the phone what image format they would like my cards to be in. I mentioned I created the cards in Adobe Photoshop, hoping that would be of help. She seemed clueless and asked me to wait on hold as she went to go ask someone. When she came back she said "ETF" format. I repeated "ETF" back to her in a confused tone of voice. I had NEVER heard of an image format created by Adobe or otherwise, called "ETF". Next I asked what dot per inch resolution my card should be in for printing. The woman on the phone replied that it "didn't matter" it just needed to be in "ETF" format. Red flag number two. After discussing my puzzling conversation with Mission Printers over with the acquaintance, I decided to give the company the benefit of the doubt and assume the woman on the phone was not representative of the rest of the staff's printing knowledge. I saved my cards in a wide variety of lossless image formats in hopes one would work since, as I suspected, there is no such format as "ETF". Upon entering the shop's main office I was overwhelmed by the smell of fumes coming from the presses in the...garage. Then I was taken aback by how filthy the establishment was. Red flag number three. I produced a flash drive with the business card images saved to it and I instructed her to pick the image that they could best handle in their systems. The clerk stared at the screen blankly then randomly opened one image. She was confused because she had opened the wrong file in the wrong image editing application. I instructed her to open the Photoshop "PSD" file in Adobe Photoshop. Once the image loaded, she replied with "I don't know how to use Photoshop". At that point my heart sunk in my chest and I got irritated. What imaging and printing establish doesn't train their employees to use Photoshop? That's like a police officer not knowing how to use a gun... of course the officer can get by without one, but it's a commonly accepted skill in the industry that everyone takes for granted. Seeing as this print job wasn't going to happen with any level of acceptable competency I ended the conversation and left. Bottom line: I don't know how a printing place stays in business when the staff is unfamiliar with tools of the trade. I suppose competition in this area must be fairly limited. I do not recommend this place, regardless of how convincing the website may be. read more

They provide such wonderful suggestions and support. Provided me with expert advise, and did so in a cheerful and professional manner. They took my small job and completed it within 48 hours. Exceeding all expectations for time and quality. All the while showing such heartfelt compassion for my loss. Mission Printers really knows what they're doing. They can take on jobs that leave the other outfits in town not knowing who to refer to. Those folks might as well refer no further than Mission Printers, because you get what you expect, even if you don't know the name for it. Jodie understands pretty much whatever can be done in the printing business -- just describe it and she not only grasps what you're talking about, but can get it done just like you pictured it. Just the sort of family owned business that I prefer over giant corporate chains. I needed 600 programs printed on short notice for a memorial and Mission's service and quality was incredible. They offered higher quality paper choices and were able to turn the proof and production around in a matter of days when the larger shops told me a 7-10 day lead time was required for what we wanted. After reading the great yelp reviews for Mission Printers, I went in with high expectations but to my amazement, these were quickly exceeded by April and the rest of the team at Mission. I had a small project to print for a family event just over 1 week away. Going in I was concerned that the job may be too small, I had waited too long to get it printed in time for the event, or that the image files that I made using family photos and with very limited skill would not print well. April was kind and generous with her time and services and gave me lots of proofs to choose from throughout the process meeting with me in person and also responding promptly to email. Very fast, friendly, and professional quality. During my event, many people commented on how much they liked the invitations and memento pocket cards that I had made with April's help. This family-owned and operated business treated me like family -- the good kind -- and is a true gem in our community. I never dreamed that I could be so happy with my experience with a printer or so touched by the way that they treated me with such genuine humanity. April tells me "that's just what we do here." The world would be an amazing place if everyone made the conscious choice to treat others like family and do business like they do at Mission Printers. I wish I had a larger job for them.
