I feel kind of weird writing a review about a post office, but I think this is the single nicest post office I've ever experienced. The parking lot is small, and it always looks busy. But when you get inside, the line (if there even is one) moves very quickly. The same several women are always working the counter when I go in, and they run a tight ship. They are great at being able to help the person in front of them, while answering quick questions/requests from the line- which has saved me a few times. If you have questions about available services/otpions, they know all the answers. Just a really nice post office experience, which are few and far between. read more

By far the worst post office in the Bay Area. The line never ends and that's even if you can make it to the line as there are always so many people there you can't even find a spot to park. If you do park you'll find only 1 to 2 people working with 20 person + line people will park in the Mail Drop off area so you can't even drop off mail. This is a pretty standard and straight forward post office. The workers are really nice and helpful! One of the workers pulled me out of line and helped me with the self service machine. They actually guided me step by step on how to send a package through the self service LOL. Parking can be pretty tough/tight. read more

This place s*cks! It's been closest to my home in several Santa Clara apartments and a house for over 20 years. I know they are working hard. But they are also being well paid with excellent benefits, correct? I always have to wait. The staff are sometimes good sometimes awful. They only have one pick up time daily at 5pm, 4pm Saturdays. If you miss it you're out of luck. Today I waited 20 minutes at end of day to send a Mother's Day gift box. There was ONE counter staff at 5pm, a second was added after 5pm. I stepped up to the second one, after the person in front of me was finished. She told me she was CLOSED. HER DRAWER WAS CLOSED. The couple with the other staffer took over 10 minutes, while I waited with a heavy box. I am a senior, mid 60s, with white hair, so it's obvious I don't want to stand there, while holding the heavy box. The "CLOSED " staffer was then asked by another employee to let her send something registered. She knew it was late but she wanted to be helped. And she was embarrassed to be asking. And she had no idea how to fill out the green and white form. Nonetheless, the counter staffer proceeded to help her coworker for another 5 minutes. While I stood there holding my heavy box. I was told I could put it down on the counter while I waited. Tired and annoyed, I asked if she could help me now, since her "drawer" was in fact "NOT CLOSED" since she was helping a coworker. I was told no, she couldn't help me. I will be posting this to the USPS review site as well, first time ever giving them feedback. First day I arrived it was about to close, and Kim provided very good information about the package, and when to meet the mail carrier in the morning. When I arrived, I was directed to the window where they had the lost package ready. I'm not sure why this post office gets such low rating... I don't come here often but when I do, I got what I needed in a timely manner. A gentleman named Greg helped me almost every time I came here, and he's friendly, patience, and had been very helpful explaining the cost and procedure. Some other times when other ladies helped me out had been quick and easy as well. Last time I went, it was Monday noon and the line wasn't too bad (I was 4th in line when I arrived). The line moved up quickly and they tried to help everyone as quickly as possible as well. If someone needed time to write something, they nicely asked the persons to stepped aside to do so and return when done, so that they could help others in line for faster service. The only complain I have at this location is their parking lot. It's one way in and one way out, parking spaces are narrow and driving a big car makes it more difficult. The most annoying thing is that you're not allowed to turn left when you exit, which is the direction I need to take to go home. I always have to turn right and go all the way to the park to make an "U-turn". Other than that, it's been great. read more

My go to post office. I come to this post office for all my mailing needs. This post office is also open on Saturdays, which makes it even more convenient. The staff at this office is very friendly. Often times when there are long lines, the staff will ask the people waiting in line if they have any boxes that are ready to go or packages to pick up, and they will pull them out of the line to help the line move faster. Only con is that the parking situation is very tight with very few parking spots. They also have a convenient drive up mail boxes for convenience. read more

Not my go-to post office, but it will do in a pinch. The Mountain View location is my preferred post office. It's bigger and has more staff, so lines move faster. Here at the Santa Clara branch, there are fewer staff and things seem to take longer overall. They have a self-serve kiosk for buying postage, but if you need to interact with a human (e.g. if your package doesn't fit in the drop bin), budget lots of time for waiting. This post office also sells the standard assortment of shipping boxes, as well as gift cards and greeting cards for those who really put off gift buying till the last minute! There's a small parking lot in front, and at the far side of the lot next to the sidewalk, there's a drive-thru area with three mailboxes where you can drop off letters without getting out of your car. Now that's something that the Mountain View branch doesn't have. Great for rainy days and/or people in a hurry! read more

It was my first time seeing one of these machines and I was a little hesitant at first but I figured why not give it a try and it was super easy . I also asked one of the employees if I done it correctly and they let me know I did . Very nice ! Today (12/01/23) Older lady with glasses, on the very left counter was not very helpful AT ALL! She couldn't wait for me to grab a box behind me and told me I needed to go back in line that I just waited in for 10 min. I waited again for her to tell me I grabbed the wrong box and told me to get the brown one and go back in line. Then she said the box was too big. This was such a frustrating process. I don't ship a lot of things out. I left and went to UPS. I waited 3 min, processed my delivery and out of there in under 8 min. I've used other USPS to mail things in the past and I had a better experience with staff being helpful. read more

It's the post office, what more can you say? lines grow very fast at this location, but the staff members always remain friendly and do the best they can to get customers in and out in a timely manner. If you need to use this post office for any reason, I'd suggest that you come here as soon as they open, as they do tend to stay busy throughout the later part of the day, especially between 3PM-5PM. read more

I have lived here for 21 years and for at least the past 7 years our Postal Service has been horrible. I don't get my mail, my mail is literally stolen out of its locked mailbox!! I have reported it several times with no remedy. We have those Postal boxes outside our security building but our mail is not safe!! I have received bits of my mail from the Post Office, after they found it somewhere scattered by the freeway somewhere or something or someone turns it in so they are obligated to mail it back to you, stating if you are having issues with your service to call them. I have recently visited this facility of USPS for my daughter's passport. The passport acceptance staff was very polite and explained the process to me and my wife in detail. We also had a photo appointment and it also went very smoothly. I didn't have photocopies of the required documents, she helped to take those at no extra cost and helped me complete the application on the same day without me having to come again. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Only issue is that there aren't enough parking spots, so one should go there early. read more

This office is in dire need to employees!! They have 3 employees working. One is always on lunch when I go. One is doing passports and the other is doing the rest. They have 5 stations!! Yet only have one person working at a time. Average wait time is 20-30 minutes! Definitely don't recommend coming to this location. Poorly staffed. Used to be quick and speedy. Love how this location hasn't been busy any of the times I've stopped by! Very helpful. Lot is small but it hasn't been an issue on my visits. The old school private boxes are really cool to see; kind of wish I had a reason to rent one. Big selection of envelopes and boxes is helpful. Unfortunately, if you need to address them still, there is only one pen chained up at the back counter. And the counter space for writing your address is small, too. If possible, bring your own pen and/or do the addressing at home. I usually do, but I needed one of the padded envelopes to send my materials in. The guy who helped us was friendly and polite. Only had one register open, which if they were busier would be annoying, but it was right around lunch break time AND there was hardly anyone there, so it was a non-issue. read more

I would give it 0 star if I could. My package was not delivered after 2 weeks although the Priority Mail I used is supposed to take 2-3 business days only. The staff there were not willing to help me find out whether it was lost or not and gave me so much trouble to refund my delivery. Specifically, a young lady working there has extremely bad attitude and has no concept of service. When I asked her whether she could advise what type of mailing service I could use to deliver a certain type of documents in order to avoid issues such as lost for future purposes. She replied angrily that "it is up to you". Well, then I asked her about different type of protection service options available such as signature insured or return receipt request, etc. Again she was so impatient that she almost wanted me to go away immediately. I am not sure whether she had a bad mood today or not, but her attitude towards customers were surprisingly unprofessional and untrained. Not only some staff in that office were not willing to help me with lost delivery, but also some of their attitudes simply made them look unqualified. Or maybe it is how USPS is. read more

Hidden fees during passport. Site says $25 processing fee, which i brought in a personal check form. The lady made copies of my birth certificate and at the end she said i owe another $4 for the two copies she made. I was never informed I needed to bring copies (via website) nor did she mention that i'll need to pay for these copies until the very end. Sadly this is a convenient location for me. I'm glad I won't have to revisit this until 10 years later when my passport expires. read more

Horrible experience from a passport appointment. We tried our best to make it to the appointment time (2 mins late) because of our baby's nap. When we said we didn't complete the form (it said we could get the form at the post office), we were repeatedly told "you should have come earlier!" While we were completing the form, the clerk still provided customer services to others. It's not that we took away her time to complete our form. The pens were broken or dried out. The passport photos of my baby were told too small. They were taken at Walgreen passport services. The clerk actually used a ruler to measure the head size on the photo. How many people would have known that? We were asked to retake our baby's photo. Here comes the hassle of baby' cries. The whole process of child passport is ridiculous. read more

If I could give no stars I would. This office does not make all their deliveries. I'd say at least 2 out of the 6 (mail delivery) days a week my mail isn't deivered. The mail person simply just doesn't show up. It's unacceptable. On Saturdays my mail is almost NEVER delivered. Makes it impossible to rely on anything being delivered by this USPS office. I just moved into this area recently and have not been favorably impressed so far with the service. I realize that lines are generally inevitable at the post office, so I'm not going to complain about that. However, in the area served by this post office, if you live in an apartment complex, you have to pay $35 and get a lock change. When I applied for the change, I was told that it would take 3-4 days and they would call me when it was complete. I applied on a Tues. and still had not received a call by the following Monday so I went there and inquired (politely, patiently). They said they'd "do it by the end of the week". I still had not received a call by the end of the week, so I went in again and they gave me the keys. It took much longer than they said and no one contacted me as promised. I had to keep going back to see if the key was there when they claimed that they would call. The other issue is that I occasionally get a lot of small parcels as part of my work. The post man told me that I had a lot of packages and I went down and removed some and he then put more in the same locker. I removed those as well. In both cases, I was given a key, one key, for the "A" locker. There was never a key for the "B" locker in my box. The following day, the postman came back and chastised me for not taking out all of the parcels. The thing is, the key for the "B" locker was never placed in my box. I know this because I checked my box at 11:30 am that same day. He came at noon and complained at me for not getting the boxes out when he needed the locker for other parcels. I know for a fact that he did not give me the "B" key until just before he came up to issue his annoyance at me. It had not been there at 11:30. This was a fact. I think he was irritated at handling a large amount of mail, made a mistake and forgot to give me the "B" key and used this as an opportunity to blame it on me as well as vent his frustration. This was inexcusably rude and unprofessional. I'm not irritated that I got my parcels a day late, but I am unhappy that he showed overt irritation and anger at me for something that was not my fault. read more
