I love a good thrift store and let me tell you, mission thrift gives you something worth hunting for. They put it all out there and in such a clean, open way. This particular location has a huge book selection and even has a neat sitting area for you. Prices are great and I love finding items in the color of the week! This particular Trip was fantastic service wise. One of the staff saw me waking around holding items and without being asked brought me a basket to put my belongings in. I was very surprised and appreciative. Way to help customers and take initiative! Only downside, the fitting room doors are not legit doors. They are very creative curtains made out of jeans. Stopped by this thrift store today and was honestly shocked by the pricing. A lot of the items were priced at or near retail, despite being used. They even had an auction area for "better" items, which felt pretty disappointing for what's supposed to be a thrift experience. I walked around for a few minutes hoping to find something reasonably priced, but ended up leaving empty-handed. Unfortunately, this felt more like a boutique resale shop than a thrift store. read more

Prices were High! Like retail prices. For the same price you can go get brand new stuff at Walmart or similar, and it would be brand new, not old and used. But the biggest Red Flag was when I was looking at the jeans and it smelled like straight a$% or a rotten dead body up in there. Must've been a soiled pair, which tells me they don't wash or clean the clothes they receive from donations they just take em and hang em! Right from other people's houses to their racks, which is NASTY! I will never go back into that overpriced dirty-clothes, store again. read more

Clean and organized but people go to the thrift shops for deals. This place marks up stuff super high then has 1/2 off sales to make people think it's a good deal. All the deals are gone before they put them on the shelf. Once was enough for me! read more

Out of many thrift stores I've been to, this one was actually very organized and didn't smell too bad like the others. There were many selections of housewares and decor. The pricing isn't bad, I think you can always try to lower the price of you're good at bargaining. The location is more north so quality will be better. I'm comparing thrift stores with vintage stores and it's much cheaper. Labeling vintage on a used items raises its value I guess. read more

I'm usually browsing around Tower District, but I had a doctor's appointment on this side of town and remembered that Mission Thrift was on Bullard and First. I have been here before, when it was the 99 cents store and if you've been to the 99 cents store, you would know the square footage is huge. When I entered, it was as big as expected. However, there was so much to see that I plan to return. I love that they have a pet section too. This thrift store is fancy, has a boutique section and even a little sit down library section. The handbag selections were mid. While I do look for brand names, I do look for quality as well and I found the cutest furry wallet with full cow hide seal that had the most beautiful kisslock closure. I thought it was just original price so I was extremely happy when it was 40% off at the register. The cashier was really nice. This thrift angel will definitely be returning. read more

Finally stopped by to check out the new Mission Thrift today. We went by yesterday (Sunday) but that's the day of the week they're closed. Super cute displays in the store. Big. Clean. Well organized. A bit pricier than some of the other thrift stores around town, but they're there for a good cause. Wide variety and selection of items. Nice employees. The prices are kind of unreasonable for a thrift store. I saw a pretty dress from the boutique section. It was priced at 24 dollars. It was just a casual dress. If im gping to pay that at a thrift store ill buy new instead. read more

Excellent selection of bric-a-brac (baskets, picture frames, vases). Clothing is fairly priced and sorted by size as well as genre, with a decent selection of large sized women's clothing (1-3x). Good infant/toddler section. Good book selection with comfortable reading chairs. Most shoes are badly overpriced. Store is bright, clean and attractively decorated. Great thrift store, I mostly go looking for trinkets and Knick knacks, craft supplies/stationery, and books. I found so many cool trinkets, vintage ones too, as well as a really cool copy of little women from 1963. Really appreciated how wide the aisles are, made it very accessible for me. The prices can be a bit higher, but I did appreciate that they had color tag sales. Also, the people were very nice too! read more

Finally got to come to this thrift store and I'm more than disappointed. Just like their other location things are way too expensive. There are literally original tags on some stuff that are less than what they have priced it at. They had so much inventory and instead of realizing it was a pricing issue they just opened a second location. All this stuff is donated and it's sad to see. Hopefully they start pricing stuff like a thrift store again. read more

Most of the items I purchased had green tags, which means they should have been half price. But, I was charged the sticker price. $87 for 10 things from a "thrift store". I think I'm done with this store. Too bad, because the workers are really nice. read more

Months ago, I came here on their opening weekend knowing full well how I feel about the original store. Still, I wanted to check it out. I bought one item. When I exited the building, a staff member who decided he was really going to ramp up excitement for the grand opening saw me carrying my one item and exclaimed, "Wait! You're supposed to come out with bags full of stuff!" To which I promptly replied, "Not with those prices". His face immediately fell, because he KNEW deep down I was right. A young woman who was also exiting the store - empty handed - heard our conversation and immediately said to the man how excited she was to come to the store only to be extremely disappointed by the prices. "I can buy new at WalMart for cheaper," she said glumly as she walked back to the car with her family. The man proceeded to explain to me that Fresno Rescue Mission fed millions of meals to the community last year. I don't disagree that feeding the hungry is a noble cause. But this thrift store charity is simply outrageously, laughably stupidly overpriced. I am baffled why anyone continues to shop here, except on the one day of the week where a certain color tag of clothing is $1. You're a thrift store, stay in your lane! You know what else the guy told me? Fresno Rescue Mission BOUGHT that building. You heard that right - they don't rent it. They had the money to BUY IT. Fast forward a few months later. Since I live nearby I wanted to donate some small furniture items. I go inside and ask one staff member - a gangly young man who doesn't look very thrilled with his job - where exactly do I drop off this furniture? He tells me I have to go to the other store on Sierra! And when I complained about it, he was indifferent to me, LOL. Fuck this place. Never again will I shop here, or donate here. May Christ himself descend upon you and overturn ALL your tables. read more
