I thoroughly enjoyed this place. They have different themes, and they do a great job making the rooms feel like you're in that themed reality. There were 3 people in my group (17, 26, and 31) and we all had a great time and are planning our next trip there. The staff was nice and helpful in explaining everything. It was awesome feeling like we were Sherlock Holmes for an hour.

We had a bless last trip to Candy Land ! It's my first time to play this game. This is a great place for team build up activities! We are going to come back and play all the rooms! We do appreciate the staff's high quality service! Hooray! Wonderful!

We escaped! Fun props for photos after you're done.

I've done Mirage, Vampire Manor, and this time around, Candy Land, and somehow managed to escape all three.

If your type is big, strong and handsome [BUILDINGS!], Full Frame Theater's Boiler Room has YOUR name all over it (him? her?). This incredible space welcomes guests entering Full Frame Theater, as well as sometimes its neighbor, The Power Plant Gallery. It's a VERY unique event venue flanked by mammoth coal-fired boilers that were used in the original building. You can admire the elevator shaft to the right of the front door, or envision the unseen inside (but very visible outside) base of the Lucky Strike smokestack which The Boiler Room "horeshoes" around. Enormous windows, concrete floors and brick walls give this space the perfect impression for any event [can I plan my next birthday party here?!] No space has ever scream contemporary meets historic so clearly! Plus, doors are open 9am-midnight, SEVEN days a week, so there truly is no reason to miss this drool-worthy space. Secret tip: it's air-conditioned and they've got tall-topped tables and chairs inside along the massive windows. This would be the perfect get-away from the office or {indoor} picnic lunch spot.

There seems to be two interior dining ares (one with an upstairs balcony) plus a patio and then an open grassy area. It looks like they host many wedding receptions and other special events. I won't comment on the food or service since ours was cooked by a guest chef and served by volunteers, but I can say from what I saw, the owners/staff would do a great job with any event.

The cookery looks great from the outside: color mural on its side-wall, fancy metal, grillwork up front along with a cool sign are the only hints of what lies inside. For this charity dinner they had a bunch of long tables set up family-style for a communal dinner. In back the bar was busy and buzzing with action. And the overall space is not huge but comfortable and lit really well. Accent lights on the rough brick walls created a lot of visual texture for the eye. The space is open but still very personal. A landing area at top was unused and a storage area up front near the ceiling housed what looks like brewing equipment for Ponysaurus (?) Overall the Cookery seems like a great space for a corporate or personal event if you don't have a huge headcount. While there isn't much else right around here, the Cookery is worth the drive out if you've got an excuse for a visit...

If your looking for a nice clean event space in Durham downtown, check them out. I attended an event through yelp here and had a blast. It was clean, tidy and super stocked with amazing wines. The event was great. It's always a pleasure to meet up with old yelp friends and meet new yelp friends! During this event I noticed they had so many amazing drinks to pull from. The bartender and staff working were super cool. There was live music as well as vendors from around the triangle. Shout out to the guitarist who was jamming to all of the latest tunes. Parking was a struggle so we ended up at a meter which wasn't that far of a walk. There is a parking garage directly across the street so you may want to check that out if you experience parking struggles. The ambiance and decor was great for the facility. The shelves were stocked and super neat. 5stars!

From the moment we walked up we were treated by security and friendly community managers. A chalk portrait dedicated to the autumn season was being constructed and once you walked inside the venue, you were greeted by a huge selection of wine and cool ambiance. The local music was great! I loved the cool, acoustic guitar playing in the lounge space. We received tons of yelp goodies! These goodies were perfect for the upcoming storm we have. This was a great event highlighting local restaurants and catering businesses and flight breweries. I hope to see one like this in the Raleigh area.

The best time of year to go in my opinion is during the Spring and especially during the Cherry Blossom season, which only lasts less than a week if not that. During that time, it can be super duper crowded, with people everywhere trying to get the perfect profile pic and/or selfie in. Weddings are held here and they have a beautiful area for it, along with a pond with lily pads. I have friends who have gotten engaged here, although if you're a professional photographer, you need to have permission. During the summer, they have a summer concert series on the lawn and it's so much fun. My friends I would bring snacks, wine, coolers and picnic blankets. Partaking in those concerts was one of the most fun parts of my summers, so nostalgic. Parking is a bit much (as it's sometimes hard to snag) but there are a few overflow lots to accommodate. One of my favorite parts of Duke Gardens it that you can also access Duke Campus across the road, and see the lovely Duke Chapel, and its beautiful cathedral. Once done, you can re-enter the Gardens and continue your trail. Such a lovely stroll. Once you cross the red bridge, you can also find your way to the farm, where there are animals, vegetation and lots of vegetables and herbs in a sweet garden. You can't really get too lost at Duke Gardens which I appreciate. Just keep going and eventually you will find your way back to the main fountain. Enjoy!
