New climbing place in Durham! We had reservations and ended up coming on a slower day. We literally had the place to ourselves. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We got one on one i struction and help with the ropes course and all the different activites! I also liked that there were snacks included with the price and coffee as well!

A great facility, capable of catering to various athletic abilities - had a fairly good / balanced mix of kids and adults participating; AND a place to comfortably watch for those of us who no longer have any athletic abilities. Clean, friendly staff, and the admissions price is quite reasonable.

You have got to try this place. As someone who is a firm believer of new experiences and creating memories, this is an experience your friends will keep referencing. OC Aerial is like a giant obstacle course that you can go at your own pace. There are various difficulty levels for the extreme enthusiasts to the ones who came to spectate (and still try to tell you how to do it lol) I love the birthday rooms for kids as they come with a TV and refrigerator so you can prep accordingly. And I'm always down for free food, since the snack bar comes stocked with popcorn, ice cream bar and coffee/espresso machine. There are even multiple levels so if you like heights, or want to overcome your fear of them, they've got you covered. From a safety standpoint, the cables you're connected to up high are legit. I can't decide whether my favorite experience is the zip lining or the giant slide. Either way you'll be in for a new experience. Only downsides: staff all seem to be young and lack attentiveness. Free snack bar can get messy. I'd recommend going right when it opens

OC Aerial in Durham, NC recently opened and is the biggest indoor adventure park in the area! They are family owned & operated park and it's 16,000 square-feet and has over 3,500 square-feet of bouldering walls, a ropes course, ninja courses, 165 ft zip line, and more! We visited for the first time and had SO much fun here the other day. We definitely challenged ourselves with all the different courses we tried! I loved the high ropes and rock climbing wall. The zip lining was so much fun too and went across the whole building!

We…read moreare all in our 30s and above, and an active group, so this was the perfect activity for all skill levels. I appreciate the booking process because it shows you how many spots are left, so that we could monitor the website and decide whether or not we need to purchase soon. We were waiting out the rain chance and did not want to book if it was going to get rained out, but knowing that there were several options for availability allowed us to flexibility to walk in. I like that you are provided with new gloves to use and keep. Places in the past have lettuce used old ones that we returned. I think it would be nice to have that option available to customers. Also, ideally the finger parts of the gloves would be a little bit longer because I did get some cuts on my fingers where they stopped. You have to sit through a training which is about 15 to 20 minutes long which feels long but is probably very necessary based on what you need to know to handle the equipment on your own. The staff members were all very kind as well so it was helpful to have them talk through. Difficulty rangers from kids level all the way up to double black diamond, which even our most active people did not attempt. If you're planning on doing either of the black courses, I would definitely recommend just doing one warm-up course so that you don't tire yourself out. We started on the greens, and then did a blue, and then barely made it through the first black. We did have someone who started a black and then realized she could not handle it. It would be great if part of the training could include an exit strategy in case that were to happen. In this case, the person had only made it through one obstacle and had to make it back, which was already difficult enough for her, but thankfully it was only one. I'm curious what would have happened if she made it further through the course and could not finish. Overall this was a really great activity for any age level, any skill level, and for any group or individual. I would definitely come back and am eager to try the double black diamonds next time!

You start off with an intro, which doesn't take too long. You have to wear a helmet and you can't bring anything with you like a phone, which is different than other places I've been. I know it's for safety, but just something to be aware of! They make everyone start with a beginner course to get the hang of things, which is a little unnecessary but also understandable. I didn't mind it much, but they need to manage that better in terms of the order for people to go through. A family of moms and small children led this, and since they were more uncomfortable, it caused a backlog and we had to wait a while to get everyone through when we really just wanted to start on harder courses. The difficulty level definitely ranges quite a bit, which is great for all skill levels and ages. I also liked the glider options, which is not something I've seen before! It would be nice if people could walk around underneath and take pictures if they're not joining in the actual ropes course. Overall, I had a nice time and it's definitely a great experience!

Kids under a certain age (I think 15) must have an adult next to them at all times. Yes, it is expensive for adults, $58, but worth it. You start with a rather long safety presentation, but it is necessary. You are not closely supervised while on the course, which is awesome but a little scary at first. However, there are workers nearby if you ever needed to yell out a question or something. The course seems to be broken into different parts, all of which begin with a climb up a ladder and end with a zip line. Most of the time, you are walking across different kinds of rope bridges of varying difficulty. There are some areas that were super challenging for me, as someone with practically no upper body strength. But you know you are safe the entire time so it's ok if you mess up. I loved the challenge. Anyone physically healthy will probably be fine, although sore the next day. :) I wish I could do this course as a workout every day!! The course was the perfect length. I was starting to get worn out by the time it ended. Some tips -The back of your shirt and pants will get quite dirty because you'll drag on the ground when you land after the zip line. Stretchy yoga/exercise capris are good choice. Be prepared to be dirty and bring a change of clothes if you need to look presentable afterwards. -You don't wear a helmet, so you could wear a hat if you felt like it. -Definitely wear sneakers or rugged shoes, like hiking shoes. -Don't bring ANYthing on the course you don't need. Leave your phone in the car (unless you want it for taking photos, but have a way to secure it to your body.) -Don't bring water on the course because there are water cups available in a few areas. -You may find some mysterious bruises and scrapes the next day and be sore.

I am going out of my chaotically busy day to leave this review, because I mean every word and I am not a "cheerleading" parent. I generally don't care for places like this because I have to sit in a hard chair and wait until he's finished playing. I want to play WITH him! This place, UA, has so much going on! My child and this mama (me) had an amazingly fantastic time! It was fun wading through the clear bubble pit. It seriously is a good workout, plus, walking the plank is a bonus. The trampolines are just as fun as all the other trampolines BUT it wasn't nearly as crowded; no accidents means even more fun (for me)! Then, I saw the go carts and realized that MAMAS COULD DRIVE- not just kids and people running the exhibit!!!! Since my little monkey isn't big enough to reach the pedals, I got to be the driver. It was so much fun that we went probably 5 times before UA closed. My kid thought it was the greatest thing ever when another mama entered the track and we locked eyes as way of greeting, we both knew what needed to be done: a race so epic that the camera couldn't keep up to take a picture. The photo of us smiling is after the go carts. Genuinely smiles = really excellent memories. It is NOT cheap. It is substantially more than places like Safari Nation, literally any of the museums (the one in Raleigh is probably the closest in price) and of the other places for kids that I am blanking on. To be a parent/member and get to also use the go-karts, each kid is roughly $110 for 6 months of prepaid unlimited play. It's $60 for an annual membership for parents and allows them to use any of the exhibits that they wish, including go karts! So for $170-180 you are able to go as many times as you want for 6 months. If you pay full price for 6 months and add it all up, you come up with There isn't much of a discount for paying in full for 12 months.
