Came across this place on a fried chicken craving. I moved to London recently from the southeast US, where we do chicken right. Not sure what I was expecting when I came in - but I know Mississippi (the state) is known for making some good cajun fried chicken.
I came in and asked what was good. I told him I was leaning towards fried chicken - but the owner was nice enough to show me the leftover pieces of chicken, and they looked pretty weak. He suggested the spicy chicken burger instead, so I went ahead and got that. The burger, fries, and can of soda came in at around 3 pounds - so it's definitely cheap.
The quality of the food is not great - though I'm not sure how high of expectations I could/should have. I have yet to have good fried chicken here, so it might be that for me personally, nothing tastes like the real thing back home. The breading was not very good, and there was a lot of grease between the breading and actual meat. There wasn't that much meat in the burger either. The spiciness was virtually non-existent. However, the burger satiated my fried chicken craving for the time being. The fries ended up in the trash because they weren't that good.
If I ever come back here, it'll probably be because I have that chicken craving again... and it's not worth exploring other places for something that's going to ultimately leave me wanting for more.
They do have burgers and ribs as well, but to be honest - the chicken seemed more appetizing than those offerings. read more
