Food is great, but beware of parking if you're going to pickup food. My car just got booted in the cvs parking lot and I was literally there for five mins. Apparently mister taco claims to have three spots but you have to park in "those spots." There is no visibility of "mister taco parking" in that lot, all those spots were taken if there were spots. There was one other customer ahead of me, and the man refused to unboot me unless I gave $50 cash. Shady. Don't go there unless you have someone with you waiting in the car.

Doing some quick reviews of some past restaurants I've visited recently. Mister Taco was a very good representation of authentic Mexican taco culture and cuisine. You can tell that the recipes are homegrown, and they definitely take great pride in the food that they provide. I ordered a large variety of items to sample from their signature tacos, tortas, burritos, and the birria consumme was life changing!!! The staff was hard at work on a busy Sunday early afternoon. They still gave quite friendly service and prepared our meals in a timely fashion. The restaurant was pretty small but packed with patrons, and the cleanliness of the facility was evident throughout. If you get the craving for official Mexican cookery, this little gem will take care of your fix!! Cheers to al!!!

Flavorful foods made by a friendly staff. I had the do's Amigos platter. Tender pieces of steak with red shrimp. Just amazing flavors. Homemade hot sauces provided for additional taste sensations. A wonderful family operation. I was eating alone. They were celebrating a birthday of a family member and made me feel a part of it. Can't get warner than that . Prices light on the wallet too. Go hungry, leave satisfied

Yeah. You might walk past this place and not think much of it, but let me tell you that this is not a dining experience you should miss. It seems to be family-owned and run, and the service was good and quick. I didn't dine in the restaurant, but we got our spread to go. We got overly excited and pretty much wanted everything on the menu. We shared the bean burrito, a chicken burrito, steak burrito, steak taco, chicken taco and the nachos with jalapeño. Don't come here expecting the bastardized fork and knife necessitating, bursting at the seams burritos we have come to expect when we order burritos at places. No. Here you're going to get the burrito in its pure intended form...a delicious quick meal you can eat with one hand when you're on the go. The nice tradeoff is that you're also not going to pay as much as you would for a huge burrito, and that the burritos here truly are very, very good. We didn't love the chicken burrito. It was fine... absolutely nothing wrong with it, but the steak burrito and the bean burrito really blew us away. And no, there's no rice in the burritos, nor do the meat ones have beans. You're going to get your meat, onions in the steak and bean ones) cilantro and cheese. That's all... no need for filler (don't get me wrong, I also love filler-filled burritos, but this is a special burrito at Mister Taco). The steak taco was our favorite between the steak and chicken. They also add cooked onions to their tacos. Lastly, my jalapeño and bean nacho (the only thing I thought to take a picture of for some reason), which was one hard tortilla cut into quarters, was extremely gratifying and something I could see myself craving often as a snack. The extra nice thing about Mister Taco, it is a no frills restaurant with delicious food and very decent prices. I'm happy that Mister Taco is part of our neighborhood. I'll be back soon to try some of their platters.

Delicious and authentic Mexican tacos and more. Good beer. Pacifico. Good service. Parking is tough. Love this place. I tried to include a pic but all the food is gone.

Two orders of nachos and my favorite drink!

Why does this place only have one review when so many people go here!!? Let's support family owned places and eat quality non frozen food! I was looking for another Mexican joint one day in the area and thank god the yelp directions caused me to get lost. It was then we drove by a small Mexican corner place filled with Mexicans. If they eat there.. I figured it's pretty damn authentic. The family is adorable! The place has been there for years not to mention the food is amazing.I've had almost everything on the menu and I'm always pleased. Not a fancy place though.. Small, with basic run down decor.

Wow I don't know how it is possible that Mister Taco wasn't already on yelp! Ridiculously cheap tacos, burritos, tostadas, tortas, quesadillas and nachos! They also have a bunch of traditional appetizers, soups and platters. They serve homemade menudo even (on Sundays only). Really close to the Iona college campus but all the Long Island and Westchester kids seem to have a hard time breaking out of their comfort zone so it's never too busy and there is plenty of seating.

Menudo !!

Cheap, basic mexican food. Think food truck but it's stationary. Paper plates, Mexcian sodas and beers. All food fresh and homemade.

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The food is top quality and service is excellent. the restaurant is also quite well decorated for such a miniscule place. The only caveat keeping this review from being five stars is the price. Mexican fare is known for being hearty, large portioned and affordable and having now patronized this establishment twice, I can say it is two of the three. The lofty price tag will unfortunately keep me from becoming a regular. Still, it is a nice treat once in a blue moon. Good show, overall. Fare: 5/5 Price: $$$

As soon as we sat down our waitress came to take our order and the food came out quickly. I would suggest they hire more help because our waitress was scarce. She was working too many tables. Apparently they have another room around the corner for large crowds to watch the soccer tournaments so she was working that room and the main room too so it took a long time for her to come back around to us. In fact, I had to go upfront to ask the owner to melt the cheese on my Cuban sandwich cause it took her too long to come back. Also, when I asked for mustard for my Cuban sandwich because I couldn't taste the mustard she told me without going into the kitchen to find out if they have mustard that the restaurant doesn't have mustard. When I told my granddaughter to show her from the menu that mustard comes the Cuban sandwich she looked stupid and retreated to the kitchen and came back with a small cup of Dijon mustard. The Caribbean rice was trash. They should take it off the menu. The fries were awesome. The skirt steak was okay. The waffles and chicken were decent. The pork dumplings were tasty. The chicken empanadas were good but I've had better at The Cuban Inn in Tarrytown. The panini Cuban sandwich was not good even with the missing mustard I got from the kitchen. I would not order it again. I would go back but would try something different next time before writing them off altogether.
