1of the spots around here that have the real deal authentic shredded stewed chicken meat enchiladas!!! Not the lazy frozen cube chicken breast mess. The shrimp enchiladas are indeed filled with shrimp no the 3 pieces of salad shrimp foolishness. I meant the shrimp was actually falling out the enchiladas. The regular and shrimp enchiladas are my favorite the mole sauce and every now and then I crave them. I just wish they had a mix and match enchiladas platter. read more

Went here because Google Maps rated it highly. The service was good there was Victor and he was the only one there as were we so there was plenty of attention on us and no waiting times. the ambiance looks nice as well cozy decorations and the table cloths were a bit rough. i liked the lighting and overall vibe there was classic mexican music playing as well. the food like the tacos weee good we got fish tacos which was an extra $6 compared to the usual $4 kinds. it came with spicy pickled jalapeño on the side and red sauce. i was not a fan of the fajitas as the meat was very dry and was not in cohesion with the dish. drinks were usual price and the bill came out higher than expected, i don't think ill go back here but you should totally check it out B+ 7/10 read more

Located on busy North Ave where parking can be a downer, they have a lot two doors down. Amazing! Also amazing: the service and food. I don't think I have ever had such awesome salsa with chips. It looks so simple and unimpressive, but it really puts all others to shame. I was ready to mainline it. Dope mole enchiladas, sopitos, ceviche, and a massive burrito the resembles the size of a man's foreman. This place had been recommended to me before but I put off trying it out. Definitely coming back! read more

This Mexican gem is on a completely different level than any other Latin restaurant in the area. The food is amazing - we had steak, chicken fajitas with the most amazing jumbo wild caught shrimp! The special was Atlantic salmon in a pistachio sauce that was incredible. Guacamole and fresh home-made salsa is like no other! So fresh with home-made tortilla chips were hard to stop eating. The only thing more impressive than the food is the warm and welcoming service offered by Victor and his wife (the chef)! Can't wait to come back! read more

If you look below, you will see that I gave this restaurant a top review 11 years ago. I do not understand why I have not been back more than a few times since then because, as I was reminded on a recent visit, this continues to be excellent. I had the shrimp enchiladas and my wife had fried tilapia with pineapple and mango. read more

We really enjoyed the food at this place, my favorite being the tacos. My spouse really enjoyed the Birria. The guacamole was so fresh and delicious. What I didn't really like was the cocktails we ordered a classic margarita, but I don't think that's their forte and the cost was a little more than we expected $16 per drink. But there was a nice bonus at the end of dinner from the owner of the place in the form of tequila shots. We also had takeout, I of course ordered tacos and my husband had the Quesadilla, in my opinion it was a little too salty, but I'm not a big fan of quesadillas, so it's hard for me to be objective. To summarize, I definitely recommend this place. Unfortunately the photos from the restaurant were not saved, but there are a couple of photos from the delivery. read more

The owner of this restaurant, Victor, is the main star here. I have never met a restaurant owner that has shown such incredible hospitality like Victor has. He is incredible and the main reason we will always come back. The food is outstanding as well. The shrimp enchiladas are my go to every time. The shrimp is always cooked perfectly and cut into small pieces which I love. The sauce on the enchiladas is so flavorful and delicious that I dip my chips in it as well. My boyfriend loves the burrito! He gets it every time as well. The restaurant is cozy and has a rei Mexican authentic feel to it. We're so grateful to have Victor and his amazing restaurant so close to us! read more

Great place to dine and relax with friends and family. The food and service were both exceptionally great. We came in late on a Saturday night and I was surprised to see an empty restaurant. The host/waiter/owner is such as asset to this restaurant, the gentleman was so kind, professional, and welcoming. We left feeling like family. Prices are good for the quality and service, you are definitely not getting ripped off. I will definitely be back to try their new specials. This is a must-go! read more

Believe every word. Good food. Great service. Amazing vibes. Came here on a whim after a long day at the nail shop (Pink Bling on the corner, ask for Nicki). Was in town for a funeral and stopped in based on yelp reviews. Owner offered a warm welcome and sincere offer to pray for our cousin. He even gave us each a rosary and a shot of tequila to toast. Our food was good (burrito, shrimp enchiladas, and steak fajitas). I ordered a sangria and he made it how I instructed. Very nice evening in a local restaurant because of the owner. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. You have to try this place if you haven't already. Excellent service and food. We had their guac, steak tampiquena and shrimp enchiladas. All super good. The service here is incredible. They are sweet and attentive without being overbearing. Victor was an excellent host and provided excellent hospitality from the second we walked in. He also gave us shots! The chips and guacamole is excellent as is the homemade hot sauce and pickled vegetables. The chipotle chicken was really good also as an entree! We had a hard time choosing but narrowed it down to three and let Victor surprise us. It all ended well. read more

I've been living in New Rochelle for two months now, I live in a hotel. I eat out 3 times a day, on the road to 300 LB, what's up ladies. Food in New Rochelle,NY is ok. BUT The food here is amazing. This is the best mex in town. Best food in New Rochelle by far. Everything here is freshly made. They do everything well, from the rice and beans to the burritos to the enchiladas. The burritos are wet, very very tasty. I tried the chorizo, really enjoyed it. Can't wait to try the other meats. This place has a gamechanger item. It's called the Shrimp enchiladas, these are amazing, I highly recommend them. Freshly made, high quality ingredients. It's so tasty. They were about $18-20 but they were completely worth it. So this place is a restaurant. Would be nice to sit and dine here. Obviously, during a quarantine, no dine-in. The takeout is done very well here. This place is a must in New Rochelle. read more

Wow! What a gem found in New Rochelle. I walked past this place dozens of times without paying it any notice, but if you want a warm atmosphere with incredible food you MUST come here. We were welcomed upon entry by Victor who was an incredible host. I haven't experienced service like this in years and you can tell there's passion in their establishment. We had the nachos, steak tacos, burria, mole, burrito, and churros for dessert. Everything was so tasty and you can tell it's made with love. They also offer homemade salsa with their homemade chips that were spectacular. They also have many drinks and dishes not featured on the menu so be sure to ask your server about that. It's hard to explain how well run this place is and how you feel like a part of the family there. I can't wait to return to try more of their dishes! read more

Fabulous place--great food, very cozy ambience, great service, easy parking. Has become our favorite place for a cozy weekend dinner.

Best Mexican Restaurant north of the Rio Grande! Delicious and welcoming! My firefighter colleagues from Texas and California and I visited this restaurant together while staying in New Rochelle. What a great experience! The restaurant is super clean and nicely decorated. A gentleman I presume is the owner, Victor, was a gracious and generous host and took great care of us. He visited with us for a few minutes and bought us a complimentary surprise! The food was excellent with a good selection of Mexican favorites plus a few specialty dishes. Homemade chips. Every one of us left full and happy. We're all well acquainted with good Mexican cuisine and can say, Tlaquepaque ranks right at the top!! We'll definitely be back. read more

This restaurant has become our family favorite for cozy gatherings to mark occasions large and small. The service is accommodating and friendly, Victor makes you feel more than welcome - you feel cherished and cared for. I will order anything described as one of their family recipes (Grandma's enchiladas - yum!!) because the dish is clearly prepared with care and attention. My only regret - forgetting to take photos because I'm too busy enjoying the food and the company. What you would see in a photo would be generous portions, comfortable surroundings, and beaming smiles. read more
