This has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants we've ever been to! Everything is made fresh, and you can smell the delicious food as soon as you walk in. The flavors are authentic, and every meal we've had has been amazing. The portions are just right, and their freshly made nachos are one of our favorites. The chips are crisp, the toppings are generous, and everything tastes so fresh. The restaurant is cute and cozy, but seating is limited, so we order takeout quite often. The good news is that the food travels really well and tastes just as great when we get it home. If you're looking for fresh, flavorful Mexican food, this place is definitely worth a visit! The food is top quality and service is excellent. the restaurant is also quite well decorated for such a miniscule place. The only caveat keeping this review from being five stars is the price. This restaurant has been around for about six years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I first ate here a few months ago and the food was amazing, the young lady who served me was super nice, and the ambience was so welcoming. My next visit a few weeks ago for a quick lunch before some snow was headed this way, wasn't as great. Service started off good, and my order was placed and served to me quickly. It started to get busy while I was finishing eating (Tacos Al Pastor--yummy) , so I asked for the check from the server, but instead of bringing it to me promptly, she went and took the order of a large table, then chatted with a family sitting nearby, and went past me another few times before I was finally able to get her attention by making the "check, please" gesture. Instead of apologizing for forgetting about me and making me wait, she said nothing and just went and got the check and placed it on the table. I paid, requested a box for my food and thanked my server but didn't get any response, like not even a "thanks for coming" or anything, which I did find rude and off-putting. I had been thinking of ordering dessert to go, but changed my mind after waiting so long for my check, plus the servers attitude. As others have said this is a gem of a restaurant hidden in the Bed, Bath and Beyond parking lot. You walk in and forget where you are because of the cute atmosphere and warm inviting smiles of the servers. The steak salad was my choice and the bistecca was his. Juicy shredded chicken, and that amazing poblano verde on top was something I've been craving since I had it. Every place I go for Mexican food, I always ask for the hottest sauce they have in the kitchen. You never know if you're going to get a great salsa macha, a house blended chili sauce, a bottle of plain tapatío or sometimes they even just bring you more salsa like you've been eating. When I asked here, the woman smiled that smile that says, "Don't worry, mija, I got you." She brought out two small bottles. One was a chili sauce they made and a bottle of something with an angry dog on the label, made in El Salvador.
