This was my first visit back to La Casa since my initial visit back when they first opened. During my first experience, I wasn't too impressed and left a 3-star review. However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself. read more

A solid spot with a fantastic atmosphere and good service. The chorizo tacos are a must order (10/10!), though the enchiladas salsa verde fell a little flat on seasoning nothing a side of their spicy sauce couldn't make a little better. The enchiladas don't come with a side and at that price point it should. Pro tip: if you get the guac, you don't need the extra sauces. To drink, the hibiscus margarita is top tier and worth the visit alone. it's easy to see why their drinks win awards. I'll definitely be back to try more. Located right across from the train, parking can be metered nearby or in the Kensington Garage, which makes it manageable for the area. The energy is upbeat and social, a great setting for catching up over drinks. Their cocktail program stands out, and the Spicy Margarita delivered with a nice balance of heat and flavor, easy to see why they've earned recognition for it. For dinner, I ordered the Camarones a la Diabla, shrimp in a bold red pepper sauce with white beans and bok choy. The dish had a good kick without overpowering the flavors. Around the table, everyone enjoyed their meals, and when the bill came, it felt like a solid value for the quality and experience. After my daughter's hooding ceremony on Thursday, we came to have dinner with family. First time at La casa in bronxville and I loved it! It's so cute! They have a brunch option for $30 bottomless - if that's the vibe you're on! I had a recent dining experience at La Casa Bronxville and I was seriously surprised by how my experience this time had changed from the usual 5 star to this 3 star experience. When they seat us they usually give us chips and the two sauces that I really love and they forgot all about the sauces. When we ordered the entree I got the steak tacos and there's two per order. It isn't labeled as an app so I was surprised by how small the tacos were and how little they put into it. I thought that there would either be three tacos, they would put more in them, they would add a rice and beans side, or they would just label it is an app. For two tiny tacos it sure cost more than I was expecting especially if you can get more food for the same price at other locations. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food so I'm happy that they did. I just didn't expect to leave the restaurant hungry. Food is amazing, the menu features traditional Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service and pleasant staff. Came here on a Thursday evening, it was not as busy. For cocktails, my husband had a margarita and I had the lychee martini. Our drinks were tasty and strong. We shared the appetizers and ordered the guacamole and chips and esquites. Everything was so fresh and delicious. For my entree, I had the tacos bisteca and my husband had the enchiladas verdes and ended our night with the tres leches cake for dessert. I have been meaning to write a review for here, and something always comes up so this is late. ( came in November 2025) Came for Sunday brunch with 4 of my friends, overall rating 7.2/10 3 of us opted for the unlimited brunch special ($30 p/p with order of brunch entre - 2 hrs.) SO worth it , the margaritas are delicious, I did try the mango and it was delicious as well. My one friend had 2 margaritas (not unlimited) and regretted their choice in the matter. I will say, you are more limited to a brunch entrée rather their full menu, but worth it for the margs! We got guacamole for the table, and the salsas - we had to ask for more chips, because the chips that they gave you were definitely less than the amount of dip - that's a good problem to have! Enchiladas Verdes, Flautas de Pollo were the meals that were ordered. ( Guess we are alike since 5 os us all got the same meals) WE all enjoyed them, but did wish there was a larger serving size. My friends are tiny, and don't eat much so for them to say they wish they had a bigger portion speaks volumes. (no pun intended) We were HUGE Blue Moon lovers (previous restaurant) and boycotted coming here since we missed BM. Regret it after coming - food is good, drinks are great and they really elevated the atmosphere. Granted BM was more family oriented and not intended to be a "nice" restaurant. Started with the guacamole and chips which was served with a trio of spicy, tangy and herbaceous sauces - as solid as you could expect because after-all, you can't be considered a solid Mexican eatery without great guac. For the entree, we ordered the Costillas (pork ribs) which were richly flavored with Pibil seasoning. Now for the acclaimed margaritas, we tried the Hibiscus, Tamarind, Mango and Coconut versions. The heated lamp at our original table was not working, so our waiter was able to switch us to another table which made a difference, but it was so cold outside.! We stumbled across this restaurant after driving around for about an hour. My bff was trying to kill time before heading home to L.I. And what a pleasant surprise this was. We got the Ensalada Mixta, Sopa de Calabaza (butternut squash soup), La Corona Vegetal, and the Green Enchiladas, but made vegetarian, as well as a side of Maduros (pan fried plantains). I didn't personally like my dish, La Corona Vegetal, and also not much the Ensalada Mixta. But my dad really liked his Green Enchiladas and my mom her Butternut Squash soup. Personally, I didn't find the food was made with a lot of Mexican flavors, but some people may like food that has more of an American twist. We came here to try something interesting and this place did not disappoint. I opted to get an outdoor reservation, and I'm glad that I did. After we arrived, the restaurant was quickly filling up. The staff greeted us as we entered and they were very welcoming and seated us quickly. We started off with some Pellegrino, chips and guacamole, and ceviche. Normally I don't like ceviche but I wanted to try it and it was actually very good. I'm not sure what kind of meat was in it, but it doesn't matter because it was absolutely succulent. The guacamole was fantastic as well, and the fresh fried chips were to die for. Our appetizers were accompanied by a spicy margarita and tamarind margarita, both of which were some of the best margaritas I've ever had. Beware, the spicy one is actually spicy and I absolutely loved it. We got a second set of margaritas, but the second one I ordered had mezcal in it, which was equally as delicious. For the entrees, my date got the Carne Asada medium rare, and I got two pairs of tacos; The Carnitas and the Oyster tacos. The presentation of all three dishes made us even hungrier. The carne asada was perfectly cooked, and perfectly portioned. The chimichurri and avocado went very well with the steak, and the side of rice beans and maduros complemented it so well. The tacos are a bit on the smaller side, similar to street tacos. The saving grace is that they're packed with so much meat that you don't even notice the smaller tortilla size. The carnitas was easily the favorite of the two for us. Whatever sauce is served on the side with it makes it taste a thousand times better, and that's not saying that they're not good without it. Either way you can't go wrong with them. The oyster tacos on the other hand weren't a favorite of ours. It tasted a little too fishy for us, which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing. I think it's for someone who wants that flavor, which neither of us particularly did but I enjoyed it anyway. Overall the food was spectacular, and even though the oyster tacos weren't our favorite, they were still good overall. The service here was excellent and quick. As stated prior, they had a good amount of people inside the restaurant yet we didn't have to wait long for food or for a waiter to check in on us. We did sit outside, so I can't comment too much about the interior and how clean it was. From the quick glance that we got from the entrance, the restaurant seemed very well maintained and cozy. Overall, this restaurant was a fantastic find. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try a different take on Mexican food in a cozy romantic atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the oyster tacos. Again, they weren't terrible by any means, but not what we were expecting flavor wise. I recommend making a reservation sense they're easier enough to make and it would guarantee you a seat. I forgot to mention that parking here is pretty easy as there is a garage right across the street, but you may get lucky finding parking in front of the entrance. Friends and I stopped by La Casa for a late morning rendezvous with flavor, and left wondering why steak tacos aren't a standard brunch item everywhere. Whoever decided brunch needs to be limited to eggs and regrets clearly hasn't met these steak tacos. As for my tacos: juicy, tender steak wrapped in warm tortillas that seemed like they were hugged by a Mexican grandmother moments before arriving at the table. Each bite had me reconsidering my entire brunch philosophy. Service-wise, they were quick enough to make me feel valued, but not so fast that I questioned whether my food had been pre-cooked in another dimension. I went to this restaurant last night to celebrate a special occasion. I wanted to like it, I was really looking forward to it, I had heard positive things about it. But I was sadly disappointed. It started when we were seated near a family with a small child who was jumping up and down on the bench seat that went along the entire wall. My wife shared that bench, and it was shaking. We asked to move to a different table, and we were reseated all the way on the other side of the dining room. The child began running around the whole dining room - even right next to our new table, shouting and jumping like it was a playground! This went on for over 10 minutes, and as I looked around for the staff to do something, they either didn't notice or didn't care. I discreetly asked at the front desk if they could talk to the parents to stop this. It took almost 10 minutes for them speak to the parents, and the child continued her noisy parade until then. Meanwhile the couple next to us thanked us profusely and said it bothered them, too. Eventually the child stopped. The room decor was nice, and there was plenty of space between tables. But I could hardly appreciate that, with the child's antics and the staff's indifference. Now for the food. Our fried oyster tacos were strangely difficult to eat - either their breading had hard nuggets in it, or they were overcooked, or both. It wasn't shells, but we kept having to spit out little pieces of things we couldn't chew. I ordered the red snapper special, and my wife ordered the blackened swordfish. Both were dry, overcooked. Hers was downright chewy, and because of the seasoning it somehow tasted like pork instead of swordfish. Her fish came with plantains and slaw, and (I couldn't believe this) there were only 3 small pieces of plantain - more like a garnish than anything else. La Casa in Bronxville is a gem! I am immunocompromised and am only comfortable eating outdoors and in a space that is not fully enclosed in plastic/vinyl sheeting (I look for airflow). La Casa has the PERFECT set up. I have been there 3 times over the past 3 weeks Each 4-person table has its own infrared heat lamp above it + every chair has a heated seat and back cushion with individual controllers (I have never seen anything like it, they are amazing!) And they give you blankets too. Each table is separated from the next by a partial wall (with airflow at the top) and the side of the little "room" that is closest to the restaurant is open - although there are flaps that you can close if you choose to do so. The food is delicious - I'm including photos of several dishes that my friends and I have ordered - everyone has loved their meals and my personal faves are the guacamole and chips, chicken quesadilla, sweet plantains, roasted pineapple dessert and Mexican hot chocolate! Spencer is the owner and 2 of the 3 times I've been there, he's stopped by the table to check on us.
