We are coming back oh my God how delicious was this Mexican food and my Bestie she loves Mexican. This is when she wants to have her birthday. She had a burrito that was a surf and turf burrito and I tried it. The cream sauce was amazing. My salmon was perfectly done. This isn't a busy night of the busiest night of the year for them. guacamole was tableside and delicious. Their cocktails were strong and perfect chips. Refresh with sauce that was great hot sauce on the side if you wanted it big place great bar I'm convincing my other half. We must go because he saw the pictures and he said it just looked so delicious. Well done real bravo. I'm glad I was convinced to come here.

Another excellent experience! The food was fresh and fantastic in flavor! So authentic! And as always, such generous portions! The service is wonderful and so attentive! Loved our dishes and highly recommend this place to all!

Combo: enchilada Sonora, birria taco, Maui quesadilla. All delicious. I will get full order of Sonora next time!

We love Rio Bravo. First of all, it's lovely inside. Someone put a lot of thought and care to use beautiful Talavera tiles from Mexico. This is such an iconic art that you see in restaurants and kitchens in Mexico. Next, I love the food here. Now, I know authentic Mexican food. I lived in many states there. I've had it all, Including chapulines. This is to say that a lot of that cuisine you will not see at Rio Bravo. And that's fine. Sometimes, you just want food you might only find at a tourist site. Like great mini chimichangas bursting with chicken for an app, a tremendous molcajete of guacamole at your table, fajitas, hard shell tacos, taco salad, Chardonnay creamy pecan sauce on an enchilada and a club quesadilla. Yes, they also have a very good Mole, carnitas, snapper veracruzano, and a wonderful selection of tequilas. But you will not find the more quintessential Mexican or regional dishes like huitlacoches, nopales, chiles en nogada, cochinita pibil, or pollo en pipián. If you know what those are and want those, there are places for you. At Rio Bravo, you will find delicious food Tex Mex/California inspired but done very well, with some genuine platos típicos. The sauces are very good, excellent chips, a mini carafe of salsa fresca, the requisite beans and rice, and no skimping on cheese, shredded chicken or beef. They constantly refill your water, ask if your food is great and if you need anything. They play great music. And they serve it all on Fiestaware. Great place for a couple or a crowd. I love Rio Bravo.

I'm known for my lengthy and sometimes garrulous reviews but out of respect for greatness I'll keep this quick but candied. The best of the best. Better than the rest. I can assure you of this. I was a frequenter of their now closed establishment Tonayan, but now it's like I never left. I thought I'd never have this Luminescentally lustered glaze over my eyes due to sheer happiness and satisfaction again. I was wrong. Everything is just right. The decor. The graciousness of the employees. The food. The drink. Everything. Arroz con polloooooo with sauce on top oh my word. A dish so wonderful I do dare to eat it all and then double dog and triple dog dare myself until eventually it's all gone into my crevices, but not forgotten and taking for granted at all in the process. I can't compliment their take at this dish properly, you simply must taste it. Their Carne Asada. Magisterial. The Birria Plates, domineering. The Fresh Guac, Guactastic. Salsa, chips you know the rulesssssss. Everything. I've also almost tried all their apps. Just recently had their chicken wings in a boneless fashion. They slice up a chick cut and douse, or souse, this with an un mistakenly familiar yet original sauce. Great crisp, would order again in a max heart rate heartbeat. The margaritas are also ridiculously peng, very palatable for even those that don't drink. Some may call them pricy but they are literally massive and filled with alcohol it's like getting multiple drinks. SAME WITH ENTREES. These entrees are priced high because they literally feed at least two normal people and potential an entire family, aka one of me lollllzzzz Linguini so funny and so relatable this guy should have an elite tag. So I don't want to hear literally any complaints on price. That's ridiculous, pay you the servings are astounding and the taste... don't get me going again. Anyways, cannot recommend this joint more than I already do. Real recognize real. Bonotucci, back soon you better believe that.

Food is always so good at this place and the drinks are good and strong The servers are extremely attentive always asking if we need anything. Ambiance is great, very family friendly place and sometimes has mariachi playing.

I've come to Rio Bravo plenty of times but most recently for a birthday dinner. There was about 10 of us and we were served promptly. Of course I had to order a Margarita, so I ordered the Blackjack. The Mango Quesadilla was also very good. If you're in need of a good time all around, this place is it!

The chips and salsa were $5 for the lunch special but at our regular spot which is La Herradura they are complimentary. The virgin mango slushie was good but the bang bang shrimp taco had baby shrimp that were fried with bang bag sauce on them. The taco was dry because it only had shredded cabbage on the top and a few dollops of the bang bang sauce. I also ordered a fish taco but it was doughy on the inside and when I bit into the taco it was mushy so I sent it back. My husband ordered enchiladas verdes and he didn't like it. He left most of it on his plate. The server asked if we wanted anything from our plates to go and we both said no. Both of our stomachs were hurting that night. I am not lying. The place is nice and quaint on the inside and is good for drinking if that's what you like but eat at your own risk.

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

You just have to be patient and stalk a bit. This is a college area restaurant so I didn't have high expectations. Surprisingly, though, most of what we had was pretty good. Before hubby arrived, I ordered us two margs. The HH special was half-priced margaritas and sangria. The margaritas come in three sizes (16, 32, 64 ounces) but only the single is available at the discount price. I opted for the Something Waco, with Banhez mezcal and a tajin rim. It was nice but a bit too sweet for my taste. We ended up ordering two more later in but they were still pretty sweet. We had their guac & chips and naked wings, to start. They were pretty good. I ordered three a la carte tacos, two fried fish and one steak. They were OK. The steak tasted like steak-umms which threw me, and the fish taco was kind of bland. Hubby had their creamy chimichurri steak bowl and liked it. It was on their specials menu. I had a taste and it was good to me as well. We had a decent meal and the service was good. The staff was patient with us as we took a while to order our items. I wouldn't mind coming back another time, perhaps with friends, to watch a game or something. They have TVs and there space for large groups.
