The campground is clean, tables and large shade umbrellas are all new. Porta Potties are ample and close to sites (without being too close!). Dish washing stations are handy as well. Note that there is no electricity and potable water is available nearby but not right in the campground. Don saved the day for us when we were prepared to leave but our car battery had died. He gave us a jump and sent us off with a smile. Highly recommend!

The place was accommodating, and we had a really nice trip. However, on the morning we checked out, around 8 AM, three of the owners showed up at our door demanding that we pay for our stay. I asked if I could pay after we checked out, and they started cursing at me and threatening me in front of my son. I promptly paid, and the three of them calmed down very quickly. I later found out that a different campsite, not ours, had not paid. While that is unfortunate, taking that anger out on my family was completely unacceptable. I do want to say that our stay was pretty amazing up until this point. They were very accommodating, including helping us with fresh towels. Sadly, this incident at the end was absurd and really ruined the experience.

The layout of this campground consists of four loops. A, B, C, D, and each loop has a numbered sites. Each campsite has a table and a fire ring. Park your car correctly and you can ensure to make your spot more private. Under a canopy of trees which are beautiful. The bathroom has running toilets and is well lit. Making nighttime walks to the bathroom less scary, lol. The camp host came over to introduce herself and warn about the crows. Apparently they were rampant and able to attack and tear up campsites if you leave anything out. A very quiet area and super close to Rialto Beach. Which I would not recommend walking to as there is no trail and you'd have to walk on the road. A great central location to explore the Olympic Peninsula. Very nice spot to get back into camping. The beds were extremely comfortable, ours slept 5!! which is wild for the price. Two in the loft in twin beds and a twin bed and a queen bed below. The bathroom was immaculate! In fact, the entire cabin was immaculate. There was a Kurig coffeemaker, a mini fridge and a microwave. There were two other Cabins facing the water #1 & #2 I believe, one has a small kitchen in it and the other a kitchenette (I think). They are only slightly more expensive and worth more than what they are charging. There is also a rooftop deck facing the water that any guests can use, which was lovely, especially since we were not in an ocean view cabin. I can't believe how affordable these places were!!! The host was incredibly nice and hospitable, as well. I would absolutely stay here again. My only tiny constructive critique would be for them to add shampoo AND conditioner rather than the one tiny bottle of two in one. I'm sure we could have requested more, but we didn't notice till the morning super early before anyone was awake so we couldn't all take showers. Bring your own or request shampoo/conditioner if you have more than one person staying over.

Their website made it clear that we had to supply our own cookware and linens and while we brought a cooler with ingredients for a meal, we forgot to bring pots and plates and towels. The owners did not have to supply us with anything but they were kind enough to lend us the items we needed and they did it with kindness. We are going to stay here again for another ONP backpacking trip this year. Highly recommend!

This inexpensive no-frills campground has all the basics, and nothing more: tent and RV sites with…read morepicnic tables and fire pits, three porta potties that appeared to be well maintained, one dumpster, a really basic playground, and a station set-up with two tanks of potable water for the campers to use. A few things you should know: 1) Google Maps is not able to route you to the campground entrance. Use the coordinates provided in your email receipt. The driveway is easy to miss. 2) Keep the campground number handy. I got to what I thought was the camp and was unable to figure out how to check in. So I ended up calling the owner via the phone numbers listed on the small Forks Sol Duc Campground sign by where I had entered. Mitch then directed me to my spot over the phone, and I was able to set up camp. 3) There were no instructions on how to operate the two tanks full of potable water available to the residents. It would be more helpful if there was a sign on how to operate the water pumps. And by the time I had figured it out, the white tank was already out of water. I had lost patience with trying to figure out how to operate the blue tank. I texted the owner via the number he provided, and at least he was very responsive. Or they can at least include the water access instructions in the email receipt. 4) I don't think they have people cleaning up between campers. So you may end up dealing with the leave-behinds from the previous occupants. The previous campers left me alcohol and a small amount of lighter fluid that I never ended up using. 5) The camp sites are all very diverse, with some being more secluded than others. But most are pretty open. FYI you get a discount if you let them pick your site for you. I think that's it. If you are looking for an affordable, no-frills camping spot that will allow you to explore the rainforests and mountains of the western Olympic Peninsula, then this might be the place for you.

There is a pull-out along Highway 113 (Burnt Mountain Road) where you can get out of the vehicle to explore. A gravel road runs parallel to Burnt Mountain Road a short ways past two campsites. Both sites had a picnic table and one also had a campfire pit. South of the campsites is a boat ramp and a short dock. When I stopped here there was someone fishing. Careful driving along this way, there are a bunch of logging trucks barreling down the road. This is also a good place to pull off and let them pass and enjoy the beauty of the lake. If driving south on Highway 113 from Highway 112, Beaver Lake is located on the left hand side of the road a little over halfway to Highway 101. I could see the lake on approach before I reached the pull-out and boat ramp.
