I called to book an appointment and got EXTREMELY lucky with a next day opening for a massage with Emma. When I arrived they had a comfortable waiting area and offered drinks and snacks. They also have a salon and products and other spa amenities but I didn't partake today. This establishment is extremely clean and prestigious which DOESN'T match the prices.. which are very fair and reasonable!!! She was friendly and made me feel warm and welcome as she explained the process and asked what areas, if any, she should focus on. She took the time to get to know exactly what I needed from her to make the best out of my appointment. Her style and technique was perfect! You can tell she's a professional and I left feeling like a million bucks! Since this was my first time at Mitchell's they also gave me a discount without me even asking! It was great. I was waiting to get a haircut for only 5 minutes. Lindsey did a great job, Was super sweet and gave me little tips on what to do with my hair. She first shampooed and conditioned my hair then took me to the chair and put some product in my hair then she started cutting and blow drying. It turned out totally amazing and was exactly what I needed. She did cut off a little more than I expected but it turned out great. She used a round hairbrush and a blow dryer to give me sort of a blow out look I hope to go there again!! read more

Got a full set of gels done two days ago... Day 1: polish started to peel. Was layered on thick and bulked up the nail to almost 2x the thickness. Had to remove because I was scared it was going to pull the extensions off. Had a French paint done--Lines were a mess. Uneven. Honestly worst mani I've ever had. Day 2: Pinky chipped in two. Had to go to another place to get it fixed. Price: 110$ including tip. Time: 3:30-5pm I will never go here for nails ever again. I've had a massage here previously and thought I should try out their salon and it was the worst decision I've made. This is the highest amount I've paid and the worst service I've received. The manicurist was nice, and while the paint sucked, I thought I could at least rely on a solid foundation so I didn't kick up a fuss. The latest development was the nail in the proverbial coffin. I have gone to Mitchell's off and on for over 15 years. For the last 5 years Once gone there exclusively. Occasionally visiting the West Chester location, but this review is for Tri-County. At Mitchell's you really get "the experience" that makes you excited be there, and makes you want to come back often. Funny, but seeing the familiar face of the tall guy in the hat, at the register, and his brotherly demeanor really makes me feel comfortable, and at ease. I like how he checks-in to see how my visit was. I feel like a VIP, and have been treated professionally. I don't go to Mitchell's as often as I'd like, only about 5-6 times a year, but I really enjoy myself when I do, and I don't go anywhere else. My stylist is Hope Royalty, she's a doll, and she gives you a friendly, down-to-earth, but luxurious experience, making you feel "toe-to-toe" with the upper echelon that frequent Mitchell's. My favs at theTri-County location are the Diet Coke on tap, and the use and explanation of the superior hair care products that make such a huge impact on my hair. You get what you pay for, so go for the good hair products! Next time you're doing your hair with products from the pharmacy or local grocery store, and you're not getting the results you want, you'll know it's due to the inferior hair products. I the Bumble and Bumble products, even more than the Oribe. The B&B products last and aste user friendly. I also like the monochromatic decor of the salon. It makes it sleek and modern. Things that are not my favs are the processing area. It is not modern, but really feels stark and needs some color. The processing room is very small, the furniture is oversized, very low to the ground, and dated. It's comfortable, but standing up after processing is awkward. It also gets cold back there. The black and white would look would be improved with splashes of red and grey. The shampoo area is cold too. I also don't like how the stylists are sectioned in a maze. They should have that area numbered or identified in some way, so you don't get lost in there. If there was an emergency and the power was out, it would be difficult to find my way out. I also like how their bathrooms are clean, private, and not a catchall for lockers or a pass through to the breakroom. I will return to Mitchell's again and again. read more

Went here to treat myself with a long-ware manicure and eyebrow wax. The two ladies who took care of me were very nice. However - my manicure lasted 3 days. I paid extra for the long-lasting polish, typically it takes a couple weeks before you start to see the need to remove it. And right before the holiday too, would've went back to get it fixed but I was out of town. The lady who did my brows, took an hour... that's just over the top and ridiculous. Thats something that might take 30 minutes and that's a reach. Not planning on going back. The trip cost $70 + tips. I expected more. read more

I went to another location the West Chester location to be exact. The service was still an incomplete service. Nathaniel asked me about the hairstyle that I wanted I asked him could he put some flexi rods in he told me he didn't have time for all that. He offered to do twist just like the previous hair stylist at my previous appointment. This isnt acceptable also. someone from the salon called earlier to confirm my Svc however when I arrived there's no time for what I wanted. I will never come to a Mitchell's salon ever again!!!! This is no place for black and brown people and that's a fact the Svc has been subpar when it comes to ethnic needs I am very disappointed!!!!' Although they went to classes to learn how to care for and style ethnic hair the grade is a F minus! On top of that I found out I get a ten percent discount because of who my employer is. Remy is my girl! She's not only great at everything I ask but that girl has a heart as big as this world. She's genuinely one of the nicest humans I've ever met. The only critique I have is that I wish they would use the dryers to speed things up because sitting for 50 minutes means the appointment is 2 or more hours. From the time I scheduled my appointment through the time I left the spa my experience was wonderful. Professional and friendly staff greeted me and made me feel special the moment I walked in the door. The salin was clean and very well decirated. I was offered a drink (lemon water) while I waited for my massage. Emma was my massage lady. She was excellent. This was my first massage and she was detailed and explained everything. I got the hot stone massage which was fantastic. I could ho on but suffice it to say, this will be a monthly treat for me. The robes, the dressing room and lockers were all wonderful. I booked online for my daughter to have a spa treat for her 21st birthday. She had a wonderful facial with CJ that she Loved! Then She had a haircut/style with Remy. Remy was wonderful & we both love her. But... I was sad though because I didn't know until Remy told me that I had to pay extra for curly hair blow out. I had already paid & tipped early, and would've had to go back to the bank, which I didn't have time for. Long story short, my daughter had to go home with wet hair in back & straighten it herself. My search for the perfect stylist has been well documented on Yelp. It spans two states, high and mid-level salons and a whole lotta haircuts. I thought I had found my girl at Beaux Mondes, but like so many of my past stylists, she moved on and didn't even tell me. That deserves a sad face right? :( Like always, I began my search all over again. I've heard great things about Mitchell's, so I took a chance and booked an appointment. I was randomly assigned Karen and was told I could print off a $10 off coupon since I was a first timer to Mitchell's. I was told her prices up front, so I was going to end up with a bill around $35, which is pretty cheap compared to some other higher end salon's. First of all the salon is super clean, fully-stocked with my favorite hair care line, Bumble & Bumble, and the ladies working the front desk are very friendly. I was sitting for only a few minutes when Karen approached me with a huge smile and a bubbly personality. We talked briefly about my hair (I'm growing out an inverted bob) and decided on getting everything to one length and incorporating some long layers. After a shampoo, Karen asked me how I wanted my hair styled. I decided to keep it straight for the day and then she told me we would do a dry cut, which I haven't had in forever. She dried my hair and got to work. After sectioning off the hair, she straightened it and cut it, piece by piece. It's by far the most precise cut I've had. I could actually see that the cut was perfect before I got home (see my Liquid review for comments on that, ha!), and my blowout was probably one of the best I've had in a long time. She also took the time to explain all the products, without trying to put a hard sell on me. I'm a self-proclaimed hair product hoarder, so the chances of selling anything hair related to me are about the same as Lindsay Lohan ending up in jail. But, before I could make a purchase that I may or may not regret, Karen gave me a little sample to try. So, moral of the story, if you're looking for a new stylist Karen is a solid choice. This is a review of Pedicure Services only. Mitchell's Salon and Day Spa has several locations throughout Cincinnati. This location is nice but definitely not one of the newer salons. My sister lives close by which is why we chose this location. We went here to get pedicures for my sister's wedding and they were able to accommodate us with chairs next to each other which was nice. Our nail techs were super friendly and very pleasant; the receptionists however, not so much. That seems to be pretty typical of Mitchell's, I have encountered more than a few curt and unfriendly front desk person over the years. This is not a budget pedicure, it is on the high end. While I don't mind splurging on this service every once in a while, the service should not be cut short. I am paying for the full amount of time and I think I was out of here in 30 minutes, that seemed too short of time to me. The end result was excellent and my toes still look great. If you're going to splurge and it isn't too far out of the way I recommend LaBella. If you are looking for an awesome pedicure for a steal, I reccomend POLISH in East Hyde Park. read more

Love love love this salon! I have been a client of Mitchells Hair Salon for over 15 years now because of my hair stylist, Jessica Pierce. Jessica does the best hair highlights that look natural, and don't damage my hair. I have very fine hair and she takes the time to do the hundreds of tiny foils it requires to blend the color highlights into my hair, giving it a very natural look. My longtime stylist (at a different salon) has cut back her hours and I was in a pinch. I got online and made an appointment with Halina at the Tri County location to get my hair trimmed the day before I left for vacation and a wedding. I asked for her to lightly trim my hair. She asked if I wanted her to taper the bang area in and I agreed. What she did was chop 2 inches in on the left side of my hair. So that now when I put my hair back in a ponytail that section is so short that I have to pin it back! I paid $65 for an express cut which means I walked out wet and had no idea until the next morning, when I went to style my hair before my flight the damage that had been done! I was going to go back to have her "fix it" but ended up canceling my appointment because I was advised that if she did that much damage the first time why would I allow her a second opportunity. So here it is two months later and I'm writing this review... It's the gift that keeps on giving! I think of her every day when I do my hair! read more

I have to say, Hope Royalty did an amazing job of giving me an Instagram worthy balayage!!!! I have crazy thick hair and she did a really great job of bearing with me and my crazy hair and she did an amazing execution. My hair looks so dynamic, where before it was just plain flat brown. She was SO NICE and sweet and really gave some really great suggestions to help me save money. I really appreciated her understanding my nonverbal cues that I didn't want to talk the whole time as well. As an introvert this is so valuable!!!!!!!!!!! If you want really great looking hair and to do your thing or chit chat Hope is your girl! Seriously I can't praise her technique enough. I have been going to Christy for over 15 years for haircuts and color, with the exception of when I went away to college and briefly tried someone else (which didn't work out for long). When she moved from the Northgate location to Tri-County last year, the only option was to gladly follow her.
