I visited the spa yesterday and had a pedicure for myself and my daughter. I would not recommend getting a pedicure at this salon the chair first of all didn't work and I like having the massage chair while I sit because I have a bad back. I had to keep resetting it and changing the buttons to try to get it to work. The girl who was doing my toes left several times for a very long periods of time so by the time she got back, the water was freezing and I was freezing. She didn't really do any type of trimming or filing. She took a nail file and ran around my feet. The Massage with the sugar was way too light and short when I checked out and found out the price of each pedicure I was shocked. I would probably give it a zero if I could, especially for the price. read more

0/5- This salon needs to treat people with respect instead of employing a rude receptionist with a crap attitude who ignores a client an extra 10 minutes at check in when they already called to say they were delayed 15 minutes due to the flooding detours. They can also employ stylists who don't scream about having their time wasted after their receptionist was the one who further delayed the client. Then, refused even do the cut potion of the service after the client drove over an hour. This salon cancelled and rescheduled the appointment 3 different times prior to this with no explanation. I've recommended this place to multiple people and even purchased gift cards. Never again. I'll be letting the individuals I referred know how this salon treats its clients. I've visited Valenti three times with three different stylists, and only just found one that I really like. Nicole did a great job on my last haircut. I brought some photos I liked and described the cut that I wanted, and she pretty much took it from there, just checking in to make sure the length looked right before she started cutting layers. I will say the appointment ended abruptly (no "Does that look ok? Would you like to see the back?") which I would have appreciated. But, I was in and out in 45 minutes, and the cut looks great so I have no complaints there. Valenti is also adhering to good COVID practices with a questionnaire and temperature check when you walk in, distanced stylist stations, dividers between the sinks, and hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE. I've been very cautious about limiting the time I spend indoors with other people, and I feel pretty comfortable at this salon. Kudos to them for keeping it up. read more

High end salon in Cincy! I don't get my hair cut often but when I do, I do it right! My good friend Amy Wright has been at that location for over 18 years! Her experience and knowledge will give you the best cut as long as you are open to tell her what you want and how you style your hair. This location has top of the line Aveda products. She was wearing an oil perfume they sell and it was additive! Going back to get some. Plenty of parking out front. They have private bathroom and complimentary water and coffee while you wait. From the moment you walk into Valenti Mariemont, the salon is modern, spacious and clean, all the stylists as well as staff are masked, obviously they care about their customers here. Mary is amazing. Great people skills and a great stylist IMO. After not getting a haircut for 6 months, I had no idea how to communicate exactly what I wanted. Had a really great experience! I received a gift card for my birthday this year and decided to use it towards a facial- something I wouldn't buy myself, and something I don't NEED, but would love to have! I have only ever had one facial before somewhere else - so I can only compare the two. My appointment was with Courtney and she was very sweet. She greeted me and asked me about my skin and made me feel comfortable. The room was dim and calming music was playing. She explained what types of products she was going to use and what to expect which I really liked! There was also a hand massage and shoulder massage included which is very relaxing! After the session they did not try to push products on you. They use all Aveda products. I did ask about some of the products and what she would recommend. The only thing that was different that I liked previously was having extractions done to really clean out the pores. But I can't complain- I left with smooth skin and felt refreshed! read more

I went for a blow dry & curl (thermal as they call it), telling Kathy I needed volume and curl for my hair to last. My hair was flat when I went in. Hair was blown out, sprayed and said how's that. It looked terrible. I told her it needed to be curled and with volume. After maybe 4 curled sections, it was resprayed. It was better but far from good. Cost $54! I called after getting home as it was totally flat again, left a message but no one called me back. Such a total disappointment and waste of money! I will not got back!!! It seems the reputation stands on the shoulders of a just a few hairtstylists (who are always booked - for obvious reasons) More emphasis/training needs to be put on stylists who can cut hair - not just color (which seems to be an overall issue in the hair salon industry I've noticed). Its a very friendly staff - but that doesn't equate to good hair, unfortunately. read more

I went in today very excited to get my hair done. It's been well over a year, maybe even 2. They told me that what I wanted would require more time since my hair was damaged. That would have been fine but they didn't offer to at least cut it today and still do my brows and then schedule the coloring for a different time. It was apparent as soon as I arrived that Molly was ready to go home for the evening. My cut was extremely rushed and I ended up with an uneven bob - one side is 1" longer than the other and the "stack" in the back is more of a jagged staircase. Molly, of course, wouldn't have noticed because she couldn't be bothered to completely dry my hair, let alone style it. Asking for my brow wax after my cut was such an imposition, I should have said, "never mind." I have been coming to this salon for six years...pretty much right after they opened. I needed a new stylist, so I called saying I wanted someone younger and slightly edgy, and I was fortunate to get an appointment with Annie Ey (now Annie Ey-Porter). Excuse me while I rave about how much I love her before I tell ya'll about the actual salon. I adore Annie...and how many people can say that about their stylists? She's a brilliant colorist and always hears my ideas and makes suggestions to how my idea can work best for me. And it took us six years, but she finally put the pink streak in my hair I've always wanted. The only time I hae ever let anyone else touch my hair is when I lived in Africa for 3 months and my hair was looking a little rough. I guess in business, as they say, the biggest compliment is a referral...my best friend and my mom now see Annie as well as multiple friends of friends who have been referred through me. Now about the actual salon...the salon is an Aveda salon so expect only those products. They do manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, waxing, the whole gambit. Just like any salon, it can get kind of pricy, but that's expected in this kind of place. Probably my favorite feature of Valenti is that you can get a polish change while you're color is setting. It's so convenient and a great way to kill the time. It's all OPI polishes, in case you were wondering. And if you don't want to get your nails done, they have computers you can play on while your color sets. Pretty awesome either way. All the massage therapists are great...you really can't go wrong with any of them. Some other random important information to know about the salon: 1. They're closed on Sunday and Monday, so plan accordingly. 2. They have a location in Anderson, and the phone number is for both salons, so BE SURE TO SPECIFY which one you want to go to. 3. I have been going to Valenti since they opened in 2004 and Melissa has done my makeup and hair updos for homecoming, prom, and spring formals. She is AMAZING. I cannot find anyone else in the country that is as good as she is! I have tried other salons while living in Houston and Columbus and Melissa is still the best. Thank goodness my parents still live in the area because whenever I come home I have to see Melissa. She always knows exactly what I want my hair to look like, even when I want to change it up a little. I've also had my haircut done by others in the salon if Melissa is unavailable and everyone has been wonderful! They're all very professional and they have great customer service. When I go see Melissa, it feels like I am seeing a friend, not just a hair stylist. She and the entire staff at Valenti are awesome! Never had a bad experience with any service. read more

My wife had been bugging me to get my haircut for weeks, but I just didn't want to. I checked the kids in and asked if anyone would be available to cut my hair while I was there. I went to Danielle almost two years ago and got a wonderful highlight. Almost a year ago, I went back to Danielle to get another highlight and this time, it came out red. Such a bad, streaky, cheap-looking color job; so bad that my BOSS encouraged me to call them and have them fix it. I went back and someone else tried to fix it. She said Danielle did give me a different color job probably due to the owner wanting stylists to push a new red product on clients. Processing my hair a second time ruined it. I had looked into many different salons to go to for a full highlight, and came across Valenti. They had awesome reviews and I looked at pictures before deciding to make an appointment. Basically, My hair stylist (not going to mention by name) told me she wasn't going to have "enough time" to do the underneath of my hair bc she only had 45 min to do the foils. I should have gotten up and left right then. . She did a horrible job placing the high lights as you can see in the picture. There were dark patches everywhere and lines. This woman is supposed to be a Master designer. They need to make more time for the clients that come in for a full highlight. My worst experience ever at a hair salon! read more

I have been a loyal customer for YEARS. For the past 6 times i've gotten my hair blown out and cut they ruined it. Making me leave the store in tears. My hair gets rushed every time. 1) they didn't blow dry it enough and fried my hair making sizzle that made me cringe and tear up. 2) may i also mention how they flat ironed KNOTS making my hair rip and become more damaged. 3) I payed 60 dollars for the blowout and my hair was so greasy where i had to go home and shower. Wasting so much money. I do NOT recommended this hair salon because their employees are not trained right and they only know how to deal with one type of hair gene. Well I would have loved to try out Valenti but they couldn't find my online booking. I have 5 month old baby and arranged for someone to watch him. Showed up 5 minutes before my appointment and they couldn't find me in their system (even after providing confirmation number). She offered to reschedule but I am leaving out of town. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous about this place. All of the reviews I've found were from months or even years ago, and that's generally not the best sign...and will normally steer me somewhere else. HOWEVER, I was in an pinch for getting my hair highlighted (I needed it done, YESTERDAY), and the previous salon I tried could not accommodate my last-minute, high-maintenance needs. I called, gave my public service announcement about having thick, long hair and picky needs for someone familiar with blondes. I was scheduled with Melissa. She was AMAZING. I have never had a stylist ask me so many questions about what I wanted, or offer so many suggestions on how to get there. After deciding to "lift my base" and highlight next time, she literally talked me through every.step. I felt so comfortable with her that I asked her to trim up my layers. (I NEVER let stylists cut my hair. Seriously, I wait to visit my stylist sister in Virginia to have it trimmed- ONCE or TWICE a year.) I was extremely happy with the entire service, that Melissa spent extra time helping to pinpoint exactly what I wanted, and then that she achieved it, keeping me informed of each step and making sure she was doing exactly what I wanted. Already scheduled my followup, and would definitely recommend both the salon and (especially) Melissa. read more

Ok, I have a confession. I am not a natural red head. And like most non-natural red heads, I need a little help in the hair color department every 4-6 weeks. Valenti is the only place I will go to get my hair done because of the amazing quality of service. I have gotten my hair dyed at other salons before and the red is never very vibrant, but at Valenti the red is vibrant and deep. It also seems to last a little bit longer than the normal dye job, which is nice on the wallet. Valenti is an Aveda salon, so they only use those products. I think this is partially why the hair color is so great. Valenti also offers other services like nails, hair cuts, facials and massages. The salon is clean, reasonably priced and the staff is extremely friendly. They can do things like an eyebrow wax, a mini facial or a polish change while you are getting your hair done, which is convient for the girl on the go. Valenti also has a bank of computers in the area where you get your hair color done, which makes the wait a little more interesting. read more

Valenti Salon in Mariemont provides excellent service. My stylist, Olivia, with whom I'm always pleased with the results.... probably because she listens to what I think I want and then gently guides me to the style that will best suit my face. She's very talented but never pressures me to do something with my hair that I don't want to do. In fact, she's often suggest that I didn't need a cut...just a trim, which costs less! The salon is always clean. The lighting is excellent and I think most people look their best because there is so much natural light, unlike salons that have painted walls that may adversely affect the appearance a patron's natural skin tones. I've been in salons where I don't even want to see my haircut because I look horrible due to the mauve colored walls! The service is exceptional: Clients are offered (1) a light beverage upon arrival, and (2) a free mini facials when getting a shampoo; the wait is minimal, if at all; Reminder calls are a blessing, i.e. If I have to cancel, there is no pressure to reschedule nor do they make me feel guilty (even if I have to cancel on the day of the appointment!). My only complaint is that parking can be a problem. read more
