Cool light up wall art of the Columbus skyline! It changes colors.

Discovered this new boba place tucked away in the Marc's plaza on Henderson Rd in Northwest Cbus. It's next to Sunrise Market and is easy to miss if you don't have a keen eye. Upon entering, it's open and airy with a few small tables and some funky padded chairs. There's a really cool piece of lighting/wall art (pictured) along the main wall. Our drinks were a bit slow to come out due to what appeared to be online/delivery orders placed with Uber/doordash. What's really nice is that you can order at their kiosk and customize the sweetness and amount of ice in your drink. Their menu looks pretty extensive too. I tried an oolong milk tea, which was more floral/less sweet than what you'd typically expect from boba. However, it was just what I needed that afternoon. It looks like they have just recently opened and will be continuing to fine tune things. I'll definitely check them out again in few weeks to see how things go.

We decided to stop by Miu Tea since we were in the area picking up pastries while driving through Columbus. This shop seems pretty new - the interior has monitors to display the menu, but neither are turned on. In addition, the furniture is a bit flimsy, like it's there temporarily for aesthetics rather than for actual use. There's only a single chair per table - not very inviting. I can't see anyone wanting to sit down and hang out in the shop. The furniture is also arranged oddly along the walls so that there's a lot of empty space in the middle of the shop. I guess the interior and missing elements will be filled out in the future. As with any new-to-us boba shop, we went with a single drink, the special of the house/the classic. Classic Milk Tea, Light Ice, 50% Sweet, Large w/ Boba ($6.45) - The sugar added almost has a sort of caramelized taste to it and it's quite potent as I found the drink to be overly sweet even at half sugar. Miu Tea adds quite a bit of lactose-free milk, so the cow milk flavor and the sugar comprise the main flavor elements of the drink. The tea taste kind of lingers in the background, covered up by the milk and sugar. The boba here isn't very good. The outside is soft and mushy and makes you think it's overcooked until you bite into the pearls. Then when you go just a millimeter into the bubble, you reach a uniform hard interior that doesn't have much chew. I don't know how they achieve this mushy exterior and hard interior texture together. Overall I found the drink to be slightly below average. (3/5) Bathrooms - One unisex room. My best guess is that Miu Tea is still in soft opening so they have room to improve. I don't live in the area, but if I did, I would give it a couple months before trying this place again.

I ordered a black sugar milk tea if I remember it correctly. My friends ordered a ube one and an avocado one. All were super good. Love it!

Went in and they were already playing good music so that's always a good sign. The menu is HUGE and they even have non caffeinated options which is amazing. I got the Coco Avocado Strawberry drink and my sister got the Strawberry Tea drink. I've never tried avocado in my drink but OH MY GOD it's delicious!!

Thai tea and Tornado Thai tea.

I hadn't been in the area for a while so I went to Yelp to see if there were any newer options for me to check out. That's when I found Bitty & Beau's and headed straight over. When I arrived I learned that this spot is a coffee shop, self described as a shop, "where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued in the workplace." Their website shares that they employ over 450 individuals with disabilities nationwide. That is when I realized that Bitty & Beau's was actually a chain establishment with 10+ locations spanning from the Midwest and East Coast down to Florida and even Texas. I'm not big on chains, but this is one I can get behind. Very cool. A few things to note... It's located in a shopping complex, which means there's plenty of parking and other businesses like restaurants, a grocery store, etc. The interior is really dark and moody. That's not usually the atmosphere I look for when I'm going to work, meet someone, or hang out for a while. That said, I was able to find a table to prop up for a while. I had trouble with the wifi while I was there and didn't end up staying as long as I had planned because I really needed it. The staff was great! Super friendly, answered questions about their seasonal offerings, and all of that. We even got serenaded by a worker (All Star by Smash Mouth) and I couldn't help but join it. I'll also add that my seasonal lavender latte with oatmilk was $10 which baffled me. However, I did think it was cute that instead of a number to listen for when your order is ready, they would give you a playing card. Mine was the 10 of diamonds and it was ready rather swiftly.

The shop is recently opened in Columbus and they strive to provide employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities (their words). The shop itself has a fun, friendly vibe and a nice amount of seating. It was very clean and they have a selection of B & B merch for sale. On to the coffee! The iced vanilla latte was enjoyable. I would have preferred more vanilla flavor, but it was nice and cold with plenty of ice. In addition to coffee, they have a small selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches.

It's super busy on Saturday mornings, but mid morning during the week, there's short lines and your choice of tables. Several people had laptops too, so it's quiet enough for that as well! Their pastries are what bring me here, the coffee brings a lot of others. Their blueberry galette is delicious - large flaky pastry, ripe blueberries, with a delicate sweet cheese filling. My friends go to is the Biscuits & Jam or the Ham & Swiss. I picked up an Everything Danish to go home - like an everything croissant with an herbed cream cheese - so good!! We also enjoyed black coffee and an iced Chai! Look forward to my next trip back to Dublin!

Our last visit we were blown away at how fresh and well baked everything was. Even the oatmeal was smooth and creamy. The servers were also so happy to help us select items and tell us about the products. This time, we were an afterthought and seemed liked a nuisance for not knowing what we wanted. I felt like the pastry selection was small compared to the location we went to before. The breakfast sandwich was really thrown together- the last time it was warm and cohesive with a good amount of sauce and the eggs were so fluffy and light. This time very rubbery. The croissant I had was raw/doughy although well flavored. Oatmeal was one big clump versus smooth and velvety. The strawberry matcha was super sweet with almost no "matcha" layer. Our cinnamon roll was over baked with no delicious gooey bits. Seemed like an affluent neighborhood which will support this addition, but maybe an instance where expansion is happening at the expense of quality.

Atmosphere: three small cafe tables that for 1-2 people alone with a few single seats near the tree decor. Well lit. Service: friendly. We were asked for the sugar level. I do wish they also ask for milk preferences (if they have options), thought I could just remember to ask. Summary: offers more unique boba/milk tea options. Made with quality ingredients. Conveniently located near an Asian Grocery store and a few Asian restaurants. Misc: Bonus points for caring about the environment and reducing plastic use for cups and straws. I went during the soft opening and they gave away a magnet, which is a useful and practical little gift. Thank you for choosing Columbus for your first location outside of California. Came back again and ordered the Cheese Hojicha Jelly Latte and Matcha Matcha and recommend both! We ordered 25% sugar for the Cheese Hojicha Jelly Latte, but I wonder if there was sugar in some of the ingredients to make a slighter sweeter than what I was expecting. The lid to my drink was slightly off size and caused a bit of leaking.

I don't think I've ever had a bad drink here, but the recent obsessions are the Mango Mango (only when in season, sadly), and the Peachy Mochi (also a seasonal drink). The mochi drinks here are so clearly made with fresh mochi with the best chewy texture. The service is always super fast and the people are so nice despite how busy this place gets. I especially enjoyed the illusion of privacy offered by the dividing screens at the traditional seating area. I am apt to take off my shoes in public regardless of the occassion, but the sunken tables allowed me to unleash the dawgs in a more socially acceptable manner. Note that Tea Zone no longer offers as wide a variety of savory foods. In fact, they only serve ramen. But their bakery section is still robust! I'm not honestly the biggest fan of most fruit cakes but I had an uncontrollable craving. As far as store-bought fruit cakes go, it was not bad. As always, I wish the cake part had more depth of flavor than just ~vanilla~, but as a whole, the cake was quite soft and generously topped with an assortment of fruit! The servers were very sweet (haha) and offered to make my iced matcha latte unsweetened but I was like, no, I need the high. Because I sure as hell am not high on life. Not a direct quote
