Wether you're looking to achieve weight-loss/physical fitness through a high energy workout or you're planning to put your skills to test in competition, VMAA has knowledgable instructors to help you reach your goals. I have been going to the academy for a few years now. I appreciate the variety of knowledge that is available with each of the instructors whether you're learning about kickboxing, muay thai, JKD or grappling - all instructors bring their special talents and years of experience together to help train mixed martial arts. Lastly, it's the people who go there (the students) that round out the entire experience. I can't say enough about the profound impact this Taekwondo Dojhang has had on my daughter. She…read morejoined several years ago during a difficult time in her life, when she was enduring some pretty intense bullying. She needed not only a physical outlet for the pain and trauma, but a place where she could rebuild her spirit and regain her confidence. From the very first day, the dojhang became that healing space. I owe so much to Supreme GrandMaster Yu and Master Wilson for their unwavering support and guidance. Their commitment to fostering a positive, affirming environment has helped my daughter grow in ways I never imagined. Thanks to their training and mentorship, she's not only progressed to First Dan Black Belt but has also discovered new strength in herself--mentally, emotionally, and physically. This place is about so much more than mastering techniques; it's about developing the values of respect, resilience, perseverance, and integrity. It's been a place where my daughter has not only gained focus, improved her posture, and built confidence, but also healed and flourished. She's now thriving, both on and off the mat, and I am forever grateful for the safe, supportive community that has been such a huge part of her journey. If you're looking for a place that will nurture both your child's martial arts skills and their inner strength, this Dojhang is truly a treasure.

My daughter's sense of self-confidence and self-worth is due in large part to her continued instruction under Grand Master Yu. I have also witnessed other students come in to the school as shy, quiet children who turn into strong, confident children and young adults owing to their martial arts training. The training is not just kicking and punching, but includes lessons in the tradition and history of Tae Kwon Do, as well as a creed that includes respect for others and personal responsibility. The environment is one of support and skill, achievement and dealing with failure in a constructive way. I would recommend Master S H Yu Martial Arts to anyone, younger and older alike.

Putting this place at two stars for now for the cleanliness and equipment. First of all, I went to…read morethis gym because I was looking for a replacement gym because Blink fitness near Riverside closed down. It was a little bit more expensive than blink but I was willing to play the price because it was a 24-hour gym and it was close to my house. I did notice that the gym looked a little bit older and less modernized than blink fitness but I was happy enough to just find a gym close to my house. I noticed several things after being a member for about a month now. 1) Just tonight several hours ago, I brought my own water but half was full and I was going to refill it and I noticed the gym fountains water spouts had mold/rust on it. Being in the military and having lived in the barracks that have had mold in it it's really a health risk and can make someone sick. To have mold means that those fountains have been neglected cleaning. Anybody who has cleaned a water fountain would be able to notice that. 2) The gym equipment is relatively kind of old and like others said, not maintained enough. The treadmill looks old and I miss the blink fitness treadmills, which even included a built in fan. 3) I in the men's restroom, they have those portable hand dryers that are motion sensored, but they can't have motion sensored urinals and sinks? I hate touching things and nobody bothers to flush the urinal because you have to touch the handle so when you go to the urinal it reeks the of pee. 4. The most expensive thing I think is the personal trainer. The training sessions are once a week and over $100 I think it's $140 for a personal trainer, once a month. I think that's a little too much for once a week for a month if you ask me. I would have considered if it was $100 a month for once a week, maybe... I really hope this gym improves otherwise I'm going to have to look elsewhere for a more cleaner and better maintained gym. I took a picture of all the water sprout top floor and bottom floor:

You've totally transformed my mindset, performance, and lifestyle -feeling stronger and more confident than ever! As for the gym it has a variety of machines and the people that workout all seem so nice and respectful! I love the atmosphere and how clean the gym is maintained. Only thing that would motivate me to give CFX a 5/5 is making sure the towels remain stocked at all times of the day and evening! Great job CFX! Keep up the great work!
