Looking for a nail salon to call home I have Mix 6 a try today. It was super easy to call and make a reservation. I even received a text confirmation which was nice. The major plus was the music and noise level. It was a nice hum and the music great. The chairs were lovely. Maggie was super sweet. I had a volcano pedicure. Name kind of weird as it was lavender. Maybe the brand? Maggie did a great job. The lavender smelled amazing. My feet really needed the attention. My only down side was the paraffin dip. There wasn't enough in the bag to cover my feet so that was a little disappointing. I booked a manicure with dip polish but suppose I wasn't clear when we sat down to do my nails. I ended up with a nail polish switch. Not bad but not really all I wanted. And I wasn't sure about the service so didn't speak up. My bad. I'm not 100% happy with the outcome as it's a little wavy and sides not well cleaned up. And I asked about a design which didn't come out great. So fingernails weren't a hit. Suggestions for the business - Turn on the closed caption to both TVs. Super annoying to watch the action but no idea what's going on. Only to find the TV behind me had them on. Take a little time and make some matches for those who want dip on nails and shellac on toes. I was super disappointed to try and root around in the big box of dips to try and match my toes. :-( Really limited selection for shellac or maybe that's all I saw. Provide an idea of drinks. I was asked immediately what I'd like which is super nice and went with water to only see others with mimosas and wine. Be sure clients know how to use massage feature on your chairs before you get started. Overall I'll give them a second try as it was a great experience. Just a hiccup or two. This was my first time to this nail salon. I'm not a salon hopper and my nail tech left after being his client for almost 20 years, so finding a new tech is a scary. I am also in the hair industry for almost 30 years and so when I leave a review it has an understanding of the profession. Noy was my technician and now my new nail guru. She was super professional with warmth and understanding of great customer service. She nailed my shape (no pun intended) and did them soooo fast!!! I had 3 nails that need a bit more attention and she still got it all done in a little less than an hour. Noy is new to the Austin area so I am grateful to have gotten in last minute, but I believe she will be booked out quickly due to her talent and sweet disposition. The young woman at the front desk was super sweet. The salon itself is beautiful and very clean. The decor is on trend. Had a gel manicure that lasted for less than a week (started chipping after 5 days but wasn't able to come back until today, day 7). I went back and was told they don't warranty a gel manicure especially after 2 weeks (it's been 7 days but was chipping and cracking before then). I'm used to having my nails last 2 weeks plus some days if I'm unable to keep my schedule (I aim to go every other week. Sometimes sooner if needed, but 5 days?!?!) , I was absolutely shocked by the quality. After my experience I went back and read other reviews and seen that there were others that experienced something similar. UPDATE: PLEASE READ PAST REVIEWS, there's so many that say the same thing that I have experienced! there are reviews where others lasted 48 hours OR LESS!!! And now look at the OWNER's response. in my opinion she's trying to gaslight me as if there weren't other complaints! I took away another star... now that I know that Michelle is the owner, it makes sense why she kept changing what she was saying about the "policy". She was changing the policy as we were speaking to fit her agenda because she's the owner. Also, note the previous 1 star review. She defends HERSELF in 3rd person under FALSE pretense... Shady AF Pro: very attentive when you're spending money Con: lackluster job that you spend $100+ on that only last for 5 days... 2 stars because it was my second visit. The first went well. I was even going to suck it up and deal with it until it until a DIFFERENT NAIL chipped! However, after YEARS of getting these done I would have changed up my schedule if needed IF that were true. But since I'm a stay at home mom I've learned to keep things scheduled, I don't like coming back everytime a nail cracks or chips. It's a waste of my time. It is nice inside and they do have quite a selection of colors but I really am just not impressed with the work itself on my set. The color doesn't go all the way to the edge on some of the nails, you can even still see a bit of the green I had on my previous set still there, one side of the nails are sharper square (which I prefer) and one corner is more rounded, my pinky nails are super thick while the others aren't and some are more rounded and some are flat. I made an appointment online and that was super easy and they were able to accommodate me wanting to move it up by 30 minutes the day of but I went in almost right at opening and no one else was there but I still feel like it was low key rushed and I was done in less that 45 minutes which I wouldn't ever complain about except the quality of work clearly suffered. I'll give them another go but hoping for someone else next time. read more

Went here for a pedicure a few months ago- it was great. Decided to take my mother in law here while she's visiting and while her nails look great, mine are awful. We spent $300 here for 2 basic pedis, 2 dip nails, and my 7 year old to get her nails painted for the FIRST time, which have also came off just from showering. I got a regular pedicure and it lasted MAYBE 5-10 minutes while my mother in law got the same type of pedicure and hers lasted at least 30-40 minutes. My daughter got her nails painted, while we were waiting for my mother in law (since we were done quite a while like 2 hrs before her although I got the SAME mani and pedi), a man who works there walked by and touched my daughters toe for no reason, and clearly messed up her toenail polish and said "oh still wet!" brought her a fan and left. Didn't even bother fixing it or letting anyone know that HE messed up her toe polish. What a great first experience for her. The next night I look at my hands, and all of my dip powder is coming off/chipping away (8 nails) but only a few of them were extremely noticeable. I go in and they fix them and apologize and just said they needed to be thicker. Now, 2.5 days later my nails are chipping SO bad that all the dip powder completely came off the tops and sides of two of my nails. I'm a pregnant stay at home mother, not sure why their product can't stay on, but this is ridiculous. I rarely am able to get my nails done anymore since being pregnant, so this was supposed to be a nice treat so I could feel beautiful. Thank you so much for a terrible experience. Whoever took care of my mother in law did a great job. The person who did my horrible pedicure and dip nails both times was Tony, I recommend not getting your nails done by him. Not sure who did my daughters nails, it was a woman, she did an ok job... no idea who the man was who decided to mess them up (younger man) but their polish didn't last more than a day or two anyways. I've never been one to complain at a salon or have ever had to go back. I won't be going back a THIRD time to get my nails fixed AGAIN, just so they can be ruined 2 days later, so I'll just walk around with messed up nails for now. I've gotten dip powder many times at other salons and always lasted me 2 weeks. I also had my eyebrows waxed and they've been itching ever since. DONT GO!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR A PLACE THAT TREATS YOU WELL! I don't normally give reviews but felt I needed to-in light of my terrible experience here. I went in with 3 nails off (acrylics). I asked for their best person to do acrylics. Gal comes over. Doesn't greet me. Says nothing. I told the gal I also had a thumb nail that was pretty thin and the side of it was bad so it needed replaced. She argued and said she would just "fill it in and fix it." She barely spoke to me unless I asked questions. I could sense an attitude so I tried to just be pleasant asking questions about Thanksgiving cooking and plans. Etc... She quickly put the acrylic on and the thumb that needed replaced had acrylic "blobbed" on the side, so the "fix" didn't really work. When I mentioned it- she blamed me saying I messed it up. Basically, "too bad, it's your fault." She started to drill. I noticed she never drilled down the whole nail of any of them as to make it all smooth. Only spots. I also had asked for them to be square with the side coming straight out. No narrowing on the sides. When she applied the new tips, she cut off the sides. When I tried to stop her and say I wanted them square- she said it won't be right shape if I don't. I didn't want them narrowed at all! I don't want them flat underneath. It weakens them when you hit them and causes the split where the tip begins. I could see she was trying to finish quickly and when I compared my two thumb nails, revealing the thumb nail that looked totally retarded from the messed up side- she then began to raise her voice at me saying," what do you want me to do???!!" Everyone looked our way. I was completely humiliated. I'm paying for this- remember!? I nicely asked her to replace it like I had asked from the very beginning. She was not happy with me! She tried to work it off with the nail tip but then threw some acetone and foil on it so it would soak off. She then hit each nail once (literally) with the buffing block as to say "I'm done." She DID NOT buff them thoroughly at all! She asked what color and began to polish before the thumb nail was finished. I still have dips in the acrylic of my nails from the lack of filing and buffing. She "finished" the job but never said thank you, have a nice thanksgiving, See ya, Etc... The biggest part that ticked me off was not only was a treated like a total idiot but I was charged $65 DOLLARS!!!!! For a fill and 4 nail repairs. I was treated like a terrible person bcz I had an opinion and wanted my nails a certain way. Isn't that what a client gets when you pay for it????? When I questioned the manager about the pricing he justified it and said yes- you have 4 nails replaced. I said I've never paid this much even for a full set!!!! Again, I had a fill and 4 nails replaced! What they never knew-bz I didn't say anything is I AM A NAIL TECH! I've had my license since I was 17! I ran a very successful business several years ago. I KNOW HOW TO DO NAILS CORRECTLY AND HOW TO TREAT CLIENTS CORRECTLY! Ive been doing nails for over 39 years. I usually do my own but thought I'd treat myself due to the holiday season. Clients should be treated with consideration and kindness and in my book- clients are ALWAYS RIGHT. REGARDLESS! So I probably will not be returning back to this place. They have horrible customer service skills. I went in originally for the nails with the design. When I asked how much it would be they told me $110. I asked for a price breakdown because it didn't make sense for me to pay $110 for my nails if the original price for a full set was $55. It's because they were trying to charge me for dip, length, shape, and 2 different design prices when I asked for gel/regular polish anyway. I ended up getting just gel french tips and ended up paying $80 DESPITE the fact that I hadn't even made it up the road and my nail had chipped. read more

I have mixed opinions about this salon. To be fair, my first (and only) time, the place was busy and I missed my appointment- which they still let me in and did my nails and I was greatful for. The place is chic, well priced, and has an okay atmosphere. My nails actually came out great, save for some soreness and a bit of bleeding. Now, onto what I didn't like. It took 2.5 hours for the lady, whom I'm assuming was a manager, to do my nails. Not because she took a long time, but because she kept leaving me to attend to other clients. Unprofessional. If you're over booked you have to learn at some point your staff cannot take more clients when they already have people waiting and someone in their chairs. My nails were falling off within a week, which I'm used to two weeks at least. She also tried saying that my nails weren't ready to be taken off (from the previous time), even though they were overgrown, chipped, and I had told her it's been about 2.5 weeks. I know that's early for some people, but with the circumstances, I believe she could tell they were old. One of my nails that begun falling off attached to the quick of my nail. Not sure if this is something the salon did on accident or just the way it happened, so this point could be moot but still leaves a distaste for them. Unfortunately, I have to say I probably wouldn't return, but I would recommend them to someone looking for a long and chaotic appointment/walk in. read more

This will allow your client to decide whether or not they want to wait. During my visit today I was met with blank stares, and after 15 minutes had limited interaction with one member in which I explained what service I wanted. I waited another 15 minutes and walked out. During my 30 minutes of waiting at least 2 other clients walked out. I do not recommend, unless you're into unwelcoming staff and long wait times. read more

Run don't walk away from this salon experience unless you enjoy being injured, bloody, and in pain. I had a gel fill manicure where I was left with three bloody cuticles, but the worst was my pedicure. The tech was extremely rough and when she used the foot grater on my heels, which looked brand new and sharp, the extreme pressure she used caused a deep chunk of heel being sliced quite deeply. It took approximately ten or more minutes to partially contain the bleeding, which was profuse. All this occurred along with antiseptic and repeated isopropyl alcohol being poured directly on the wound which was very painful. I repeatedly told the tech to stop with the alcohol to no avail. To add insult to injury I was charged full price for the experience. It took five days for the bleeding on my heel to completely stop and two weeks before I could wear shoes comfortably. read more

I just paid a ton of money and the end result is sad. The person doing my nails was rude and annoyed. She painted my nails and didn't tell me they were dry or I was done or anything.
