Chris DJ'ed our May 2018 wedding in Santa Rosa. We loved working with him and would highly, highly recommend him for any event. Total pro and we thought his pricing was incredibly reasonable. We had a couple planning calls in the months leading up to the wedding and we found Chris super easy to talk to, really organized, and really experienced. He had a lot of helpful thoughts and suggestions. He also has a great, easy to use planning website and everything can be handled electronically - signing contracts, payments, uploading sample playlists, etc. He was definitely more than just a DJ. He handled all of our music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and dancing and all of our A/V needs (mic'ing up officiant and groom for the ceremony, toasts and speeches, slideshow, etc.). I researched for months to find the best DJ I could for my wedding. I literally listened to almost a hundred hours of mix tapes, trying to find that special DJ that really makes you want to dance. Lots of DJs play the same ol same, and for most weddings no one notices, but I definitely notice when a DJ drops a deep cut, a forgotten jam, and transitions into these songs with ease. I notice all the mistakes, all the generic choices, all the lame dance hits that may be top 40 but...suck to actually dance to. I found Chris and listened to his mixes and knew right away that he had a passion for DJing and getting the crowd happy and moving. How do you get EVERYONE on the dance floor at your wedding? Hire Chris the Rebel! Planning our wedding with no professional help was quite stressful and to be honest, Chris was one of the easiest vendor I had to deal with. My friend recommended him to me and I recognized his name from Wild 94.9 so we were pretty much sold. His packages and prices can accomodate most wedding budgets and we went with everything but lighting since our venue already provided it. Most of our communication at first was through email and he is very responsive. What I was most impressed with was his professionalism and ability to accomodate us so that everything was very "us." Chris provided a form with a few questions so he knew what direction we were going with. Having never planned a wedding, it was a great checklist for me. What songs to play, what not to play (ex girlfriend's song?!), when to play (dance jams in the beg and then bust it out like the clubs towards the end when all the older generations have gone), what genres, specific songs for before the wedding, procession, afterwards, cocktail hour, intro, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, dances, etc... I had some obscure songs in mind and Chris had no problems getting them. One of them was from a Pepsi commercial. Another was the Top Gun theme song. But he got them and it was good. I also did not want any mics or mic stands at the ceremony and Chris provided lapel mics for my officiant since I didn't want our pictures to turn out like we were at karaoke. I only physically met up with Chris once before the wedding and that was during the walk-through at the venue with the rest of my vendors. This was very helpful because he could locate the power sources and know where place the speakers and to project the slideshow. It also allowed me to show him my vision. After everything, as the bride, I just wanted to dance and not stop and that's what happened. We had to extend the wedding so the party could continue until the venue didn't allow us anymore. It has almost been a year and people still tell me how rad our wedding was, especially the music. Some of the best photos from the reception were from the dance floor I must admit. After some intensive research and a handful of interviews, we hired Chris to DJ and Emcee our wedding this past October at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco. FRIENDLINESS Chris is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He was always professional and very easy going. He was really delightful to speak to on the phone during all of the planning stages and was never difficult or frustrated with me. I appreciated these qualities about him given that I was a very stressed bride! LIGHTING We also hired Chris to warm up the ballroom with wireless up-lights! The venue did not allow for up-lighting that had any wires/cords sticking out, so we had to find a vendor that could supply these wireless units for us and Chris came through! Beautiful amber lighting surrounded the ballroom creating a warm ambiance and glow. The colors of the lighting changed during the dancing portion to fit our wedding colors (blue and gold)! EMCEE Chris did a great job with the introductions and more importantly, keeping us on our timeline for the evening! There were a few moments when our wedding coordinators were unavailable and Chris along with our photographer stepped into make sure all the events planned for that time at the reception went as planned - I couldn't have been more grateful! MUSIC One of the most important decisions when wedding planning! Chris has every song or can find/get any song you can think of. Not only did he have/play all the songs on our requested list, he was able to get a Chinese theme song to a Kung Fu movie for our parents' grand entrance! From the beautiful uplighting, to the non stop moving dance floor, and even to making sure to duct tape our DIY decor that fell down outside, to even coming to the rescue with a screen projector when the one we anticipated to use from a friend began falling over. But super friendly and made sure to keep that dance floor moving all night. We had guests who always refuse to dance at weddings, dropping it low and being super sore the next morning. While Chris came recommended from a nightclub DJ, his mixing skills places him on par with any DJ in the club today. Going through this ahead of time definitely gave us less things to worry about during our big day. During the wedding day, the strategic placement of the audio equipment blended in with the background and was unobtrusive. There were no issues with the mics or volume during the ceremony nor reception. The uplighting and GOBO pattern projected on the dancefloor "upped" the ambiance to the next level. The music also rocked! One of my main pet peeves is rough transitions between songs during the dancing hours. Chris's mixing was smooth and people were on the dance floor the whole night! We hired Chris for our wedding reception, and found him to be very friendly and professional. He met with us at the venue a few months ahead of time and walked us through the various options and the basic plan. He was very responsive regarding questions we had and last minute song changes and did some custom mixing for our first dance song. He also hooked us up with a last minute dance floor order, which was very helpful. Basically, we gave Chris a list of songs we liked and he extrapolated from it, making the reception incredibly easy and worry-free. My husband and I hired Chris for our wedding at the Bently Reserve this past June, and we truly we loved working with him. He made our wedding such a fun, memorable evening, and we cannot recommend him more highly! When we started looking for a DJ, my husband and I knew immediately what kind of music we DIDN'T want at our wedding: no cheesy wedding songs, no lame novelty acts, basically nothing that came with its own dance moves. We wanted music that was actually GOOD and got people to just have fun and dance and be themselves - something we've found distressingly rare at weddings. But more than that, we wanted our wedding to have a very specific vibe: my husband and I are both children of the 90s and aficionados of hip-hop and R&B, and we wanted every part of our wedding to reflect that part of us. When we first talked to Chris, we knew right away that he was perfect -- and, if you're looking for a fellow fan of 90s hip hop, you honestly won't find anyone more excited about that music than Chris. We worked with him to create a very specific cocktail/dinner mix with lots of hip hop throwbacks, and slow jams (think Erykah Badu, Common, Tribe, Biggie, etc). For dancing, we asked him to come up with a mix of current pop/hip hop songs to get everyone on the floor, but to also mix in a bunch of throwbacks that would take people back - and not just the standard played out mix of 90s jams, but some deeper cuts, too. We hired Chris for my brother's wedding last week and were very happy and pleased. He is very easy to work with, he worked things out with the vendor (sending insurance to the venue and if he has any questions he'd contacted them directly). Where do I even begin? I wasn't even the bride for the wedding but HAD to write this review because Chris and his team were so amazing and awesome. I was one of the bridesmaids that was tasked with doing the slideshow and Chris reached out ahead of time and set up a folder to upload the file. Chris was so incredibly responsive, quicker than any vendor that I have ever worked with. He was amazing....On the day I was to upload the file, my password did not work and I emailed him super early in the morning and what do you know, within minutes my password was reset. Talk about taking care of your customers. Music? Hands down, THE BEST!! I kept turning around and asking "Are you serious?" because his music was so so good. He was given direction on the genre but he nailed it. I don't dance but he got me grooving the whole night, to the point of soreness! Of course, every wedding has one individual that might have drank too much. Well.....Chris handled with such professionalism and grace, even though the guest kept trying to take over the DJ booth. If it was me, I would have lost it but Chris and his team handled amazingly. If you are planning an event, whatever the event is...and don't pick Chris...you will regret it. My wife and I just got married a few weeks ago, and we couldn't help but feel great about our DJ choice. Chris was so easy to work with, he made us feel at home and like family, and we felt like we didn't have to worry about a thing. Both my wife and I are very particular and specific about how things go, so having a professional like Chris made life a lot easier because we knew we did not have to worry about any minor details going wrong. Chris is the best DJ you can want for ANY event. I had the blessing of working with him at a few events through my job and he impressed us as well as our client very much. Let's just say that for an event that reaches about 3000 people, we didn't think twice about bringing him back... he's now been the go to DJ for 3 years. When I got engaged, I immediately reached out. Chris provided a quote and I have to say beat out every DJ in the area. (South Bay and East Bay). While my heart wanted Chris, we of course did our due diligence as it's a wedding, and let's be real they are EXPENSIVE. You can imagine my excitement when I saw the quote and knew the talent I was getting. Aside from music, Chris was able to provide a GOBO as well as uplighting. Winner Winner!!! Chris was great with communication and so easy to work with. My husband and I are both music lovers and have quite eclectic taste. Chris was able to find songs I wanted but couldn't find (acoustic version of little mermaid for the flower girls) as well as have all of the songs we wanted. The day of the wedding as perfect. He arrived early, set up, and got to it. Everyone at our wedding raved about our music! Our dance floor was packed the entire time.We are still receiving emails and texts saying how great our DJ was. We also received praise from our Aunts and Uncles (older folks) that there was music for all ages. Chris even found a German Polka for us!! I know I will be giving out his info for all of my friends, and have already passed on to a few event planners. I can't say enough great things about him. One thing is for sure...when it comes to your wedding you want to be surrounded by great vendor who make your day as stress free as possible. I guarantee Chris is that type of vendor. Chris was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so happy that she did. Chris was our DJ/MC for our wedding this past December in SF. Throughout the whole planning process and especially in the weeks leading up to our wedding, Chris was there to guide me in what he needed, but was not pushy or demanding to have things finalized. Although we didn't get a chance to meet in person prior to our wedding, we had a numerous phone conversations to go over the type of music and vibe that we were going for. Having never planned a wedding before, I didn't realize how many different songs were needed... needless to say, Chris outlined for me what he needed and offered suggestions that seemed to fit our taste in music which was extremely helpful. He DJed our wedding and this guy is PROFESSIONAL ALL THE WAY. we didn't have any problems and had every song we requested. Chris the Rebel is AMAZING!!!! He DJed and did the up-lighting for my wedding, which all came out great! I wanted to mix in some country music in during the reception and my husband wanted house music, Chris was able to accommodate both of our requests. He did an awesome job being an MC and introducing the bridal party while working the music too. He is a great listener and was great at responding to emails. I asked for yellow uplighting, not golden and he got it perfect! He even designed the GOBO for us based off our wedding invitations which I thought was awesome that he helped tie in the theme. He did such an amazing job that at the end of the night when it should have been the last song, our guest were having so much fun they kept chanting for him to play one more song... which he did! Made us happy to see our guests so happy! He is extremely professional and even with all the chaos going on around during the hectic day he never once added any stress, he knew exactly what to do and even got there early to set up. read more

Chris was wonderful! We gave him a few ideas of the type of music we liked and didn't like (who actually wants to hear the Chicken Dance...again) and he took it from there. We had an excellent mix of music from Frank Sinatra to Tupac. Additionally, he had a few Flogging Molly and Iron Maiden tracks, allowing the groom to mosh on the dance floor (insert eye roll from bride). The music for our entrances and exists were flawless. We also used Chris for lighting, and while a little more expensive than some of the other quotes, we felt better knowing he was there the whole time. Our venue ended up using some of his equipment because it was better than theirs. Both our wedding coordinator and contact at the venue said he was the best and easiest DJ that they had worked with. We hired Chris for our wedding this summer and he was amazing! He was professional, responsive and reasonably priced. We asked him to follow a specific playlist (with some obscure songs) for a portion of our wedding, and he did exactly what we asked without hesitation. For later in the evening, we gave him a few songs that exemplify our tastes and asked him to go from there. It was fantastic! He read the crowd and played the right songs at the right time. Moreover, he showed up on time, set up and broke-down quickly and efficiently, and always responded quickly to my emails. We had some unusual requests and he worked with us on all of them. This is WAY overdue!! Chris is amazing. I was a bit apprehensive about using a DJ for our wedding at first. I thought it would be cookie cutter and impersonal. I was very very wrong. Everything was completely personalized to us! Chris asked us what we wanted, sent samples to see if he was on track, mixed songs to highlight what we like, and had a great website where we could submit our general song preferences. We asked for everything from French jazz to new songs from Empire--he had it all. Whenever I need a pick me up on my drive home from work I still listen to his tracks!
